Well, I've ordered the HB! None in stock so could be a short while before it arrives. Putting seats down in the car doesn't bother me, I couldn't fit bass cases in the boot of my estate and I only have a three door now so back seat isn't an option either! Looking forward to learning to play now!

Well I've just downsized my car from a big estate to something I wouldn't be able to transport a 4x10 in, so I definitely won't be buying a DB anytime soon, the choice of EUB will need to last me at least 5 years before my next car choice is swayed by the need for more space. Although the Stagg on sale here is now a massive bargain at £160 it is 150miles from me and has no case, so I am tempted by the HB at the moment, I like the look of it more, and it does seem as close to traditional as a budget EUB is likely to get! The preamp doesn't concern me too much if I can bypass it, but the headphone socket is still useful so we'll see. I can see myself buying something early this week whatever I decide!

DB and EUB porn/live pictures thread :-)

Does the HB normally have that white binding or have you added that? Looks good! -
Met Debs at a services and sold her my Ibanez SR Prestige, great to deal with, no problems at all, thanks!

So I've decided to learn to play the upright, as it would suit one of my bands and I've always wanted to play. I drive a small car and live in a small house, so it has to be electric, and budget doesn't stretch to NS or Baby Bass. So, do I go for the Stagg, or the Harley Benton? I prefer the look of the HB, having a DB shape to it rather than a stick, but I like the auxiliary input the Stagg has. The HB is more upgradable than the Stagg too. I'd want to learn to play bow, but I think that's possible on both? Has anyone played both, and have a preference? Or does anyone have one or the other and know the pros and cons? I'd be buying the HB blind, but I could at least try out the Eastcoast version of the Stagg in PMT.

I love this bass, but I'm toying with the idea of getting a EUB so I need to sell something and I haven't played it out of the house in two years, and only did two gigs with it before that. It's in almost the same condition as when I bought it, just one small scratch on the headstock. Great slim neck, lightweight, curved body, Bartolini pickups, currently strung with DR Lo Riders. Walnut top, mahogony body, made neck. Includes original Ibanez Prestige hard case. £400 or trade for a EUB. Issues: A few tiny dents barely visible in the photos Screw missing on E string bridge, but never been an issue as it's intonation is fine without any adjustment. Large scratch on the back Battery box clip broken, I've always put a small bit of tape over it to keep it shut. Small scratch on the headstock I made when changing strings - this is the only mark on the bass that wasn't there when I bought it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/dl5oj3y0djmhmpm/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2006%2048.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/c9d4kpnmn34fgco/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2007%2016.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/8akcdj9jx8e5oav/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2008%2025.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/frj5blr6kx5cww1/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2008%2034.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/y0qo0hxwwr0prxr/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2008%2043.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/1r3yanv31r7lroz/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2009%2001.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/019eiq4dudtrrui/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2009%2020.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/l0z8c0dfxda7uhe/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2009%2027.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/xp4w57tf870j1q9/Photo%2025-08-2013%2019%2009%2037.jpg Pick up from West Midlands, or meet half way, but I'd rather not post it.

It was on Sky Arts 1 about six months ago, I saw last week it was being repeated, great show!

I love mine, and there's a good reason you haven't seen any in the marketplace, way better quality than a MIM Fender, and cheaper too.

2-4hrs if the band are practising, 20mins if we're not. 1-4hrs if I'm writing. I don't get in from work til 7pm so don't get to play til 8pm if nothing else is going on so it doesn't give me much time. My wife works shifts which sometimes rules out weekends too if she's sleeping.

Ampeg SVT CL and Tecamp cab, anyone tried that combination?
RussFM replied to Anders's topic in Amps and Cabs
I use an S212, it's very punchy. In my punk band I like a lot of treble to hear the pick attack, but I barely touch the EQ, just have the tweeter on hard attack up full and turn the pre-EQ tone control on the Puma up to about 2 o'clock. Great cabs, well built, lightweight and sound great. -
Yeah in the MOD section chose Monopitch and set the parameter to +12, I think the default blend is 50%. Being able to get somewhere close to a Unibass effect was key to me buying the B9.
-
Another hour spent on it this evening, think I've got the hang of it now. I've set four patches up ready for my next gig, then I'll see what else I might need. 1. Ampeg SVT clean 2. Ampeg SVT with high gain 3. Ampeg SVT clean with chorus and a slight reverb 4. Octave up with TSR distortion, blended 40% I'm sure that probably all I need in this band so the pedal is overkill for my live needs, but great to have the EQ and everything set up for any amp/pa and the tuner, volume pedal, etc.

Thanks, I'll give that a try this evening!

I saw PMT Birmingham was down to its last B9 yesterday so I took a trip in to give it a try, seemed way more than I will ever need but a USB interface with tube preamp, tuner and unibass effect is still worth £99 of my money! I had a play with it at home and it'll definitely take some getting used to. i found myself unable to get out of the looper without turning the power off! Also, how do you clear a patch so it's completely clean to set up a new one from scratch? I can only seem to edit existing patches?
