2. It's arriving tomorrow and I'm interviewing Martin and doing some sound recording so watch this space.
3. Thanks very much for that post. Just got to soak it up and try to put it into practice.
4.
Cheers Sean, this is the first I've heard of Landr. Look good and what a great business idea! (damn, wish I’d thought of this…). I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve just listened to lurks and Dad’s entries for the Composition Challenge (good work guys ) and if those are anything to judge by then it seems like a very handy quick fix for mastering. Hard to tell exactly what it’s doing - as I haven’t heard the original tracks - but I’m guessing it’s probably a mix of multi-band compression, stereo widening, loudness limiting (maximising) and high/low pass filtering. Both lurks and Dad’s tracks have plenty of ‘air’ in the high end, so it’s probably boosting up there too. It’ll never be a substitute for learning the ropes yourself - or better still, the ears of a proper mastering engineer, of course. But it’s free (for MP3s / WAVs cost on subscription) and the results sound very good. What’s not to like??
Have a listen: Before Landr https://soundcloud.com/belowtheghost/upbeat-rock-idea After Landr https://soundcloud.com/belowtheghost/surf-rock-idea-mastered

6. That natural DJ is the same as what was the ACDJ a few years back which was a limited run of 30. I had one and it was fitted with Chisonic pickups, sounded great but was heavy.
7. https://www.landr.com/ I've done a few tracks using the landr free account and it seems pretty good. The tracks pop. I've only mastered a few rough demos and rehearsal recordings so far but I think I'll be using this for the tracks we're recording at the moment.
8. Highly recommended http://www.martamp.com/ Any questions, let me know.
9.
Nice box! Apologies for OT but...I wonder if he'd do power scaling on my Burman...?
He's busy but I've no doubt he'd do it. Smashing guy to deal with too.
10. Best pedal compressor I've ever used. Very intuitive.
11.
Are you going to get your Big Twin done up in the same seafoam tolex...?
It's going to be impossible to put tolex over the tuffcab paint so I'll probably try a few cans of Canbrush Surf Green at some point.
12. MJW is now taking orders for these. £1600 for the single channel variant and that channel can be tweaked to your taste.

17. It's getting close now. Full video review will be made with the help of a pro movie maker editor chap and hopefully some interview footage with Mr MJW
18. Ament is God. Ip so facto cheap artefact.
19.
Looks superb! I'm trying to figure out why it's in a pub though
It's in a social club up in High Peak in Derbyshire (beautiful part of the world and very close to Shukerville). The club rent out the room as rehearsal space. It was decided that testing this beast at Martin's house/workshop was going to be too noisy so we went somewhere where we could make as much noise as we wanted.
20. Very interesting, Simon. I can't wait to start however I have to wait until Dec 6th now until we're all available all day.
21.
My can is still in next to new condition after over a year of taking it to every rehearsal and gig, I have no cover for it either. And I haven't "babied" mine really either.
"Kicking my can all the place. Singing, we will, we will..."
22.
Yum - I bet that sounds great with a BB!
It's incredible. That's the Valenti pictured, the BB is out of sight. I can't imagine my MXR M80 is going to be switched on much in future, the distortion from the amp is just beautiful and thick. I'm going to do a video review of this when it's done and I've got my head around it. That'll be a few weeks away yet.
23. What are the handles like? Maybe it's those that people hate
