1. I've never had an issue with the body size or weight of any BB bass. They are called a broad bass for that very reason. The new one feels similar to my BB1100S in size, smaller than the BB300 & BB3000. The 3000 was light in weight, the 734a feels about the same. In passive mode the treble control acts as a tone control. It's band rehearsal tomorrow night. It'll be getting a work out then. Everything about it feels slightly better than the 1100s, which is very good and has been my go to bass... even over my Warwick Stage 1. Find one, try it... we are all different. I'm already convinced the 734a is a great bass.
2. No problem.
3. Yes. Bargains. They are both very nice basses. But I now have a 734a so most of my gear is up for sale
4. Bin the flags. Get two Bald Eagles instead.
5. 40mm neck. Not as chunky as the bb1024 but nothing like the Ibanez SR800 I used to own, that was more like tooth pick. Of the four Yamaha basses I've owned. Bb300, Bb3000, Motion & Bb1100s this has the nicest neck for me. Satin finish is lovely. Very comfortable, it feels great. John at PMT Newcastle sorted me out. Top bloke, very helpful.
6. 625 posted. This has to go. New bass in.the building.
7. Reduced. I need these sold asap.
8. PMT, I ordered it a while ago though, not sure if they brought any more into stock. When I placed the original order PMT didn't know about the new range. Yamaha London also have them.
9. It sounds Fantastic, the eq is very nice, not harsh but has a bark to it when the mids are boosted. Built quality is excellent, strange but it didn't come with a battery so when we plugged it in it didn't work, even in passive. I felt right at home with it. It's still at the shop, I'm collecting on Monday as it was straight out the box, cardboard around the strings etc when I called in and wasn't set up. Oh... it looks cool as funk.
10. Well, I had a go on my new one today.
11. The Yamaha bass I ordered has arrived a lot quicker than planned. So these two crackers need to go... BB1100S in red/black burst finish. Very good condition. The eq on this thing is excellent and the bass itself plays beautifully. Made on Taiwan. £Sold posted BB300 in red metallic. All the precision sounds you would ever need, good condition . Made In Japan £125 collected from Teesside I could probably delivery both by hand to most places in England above the M62
12. 734a has landed.
13. Some of the lower spec basses are here now. Gear4Music have one in, I had a brief fondle of it today. Light, nicely built and a lovely neck. Didn't have time to plug it in though. 734a 23rd August on the website, but that seems to change on a daily basis.
14. I've spoken with PMT Newcastle about this and they don't know what the rate will be. The basses aren't due until the end of September.
15.
Just noticed price of the bb734a has gone up even before they reach the uk. Now over £800! I have the old bb1200s so will be interested to see how they compare.
According to Peter Hook the BB734a is very good and compares favourably to the 1200s. And he doesn't mince his words. Oh... and they aren't due in to the UK until the end of September.

Need this gone, new bass on the way.
17. Billy Sheehan is currently using the Helix LT on tour... blimey. That's some endorsement.
18.
I've been gigging with the new bass clone since they came out. It works for me, sounds like old school chorus and is relatively low in price. Build quality feels okay... not top quality but certainly robust enough to gig. Never tried MXR but a lot of people do seem to like them. I had an EBS multi chorus before this, that was a bit to subtle for my taste but very well built.
19. Offers welcome. I need this gone... Ta
20.
Picked up a BB424x yesterday and love it! Would take a BB1024x over these new ones any day
Have you tried a new one?
21. His tone sounds like a Warwick Stage 1 through B7K, clamped with a compressor via GK. Add Boss stuff to suit. Wal... I don't get it.
22. ABM EVO IV 600 currently in SKB Case. Fantastic head, sounds great, is very loud and yes it is in very good condition. Don't confuse this with the previous ABM heads, this one is very flexible and has a tight punchy sound. The eq is excellent and the pre shape option are both very useable. As several people have been scared off by the dimensions of the deep SKB case I will sell the head separately if required. This is on a hand delivered or collection basis only. I will not ship without the case. £sold with case £sold without case
23. Awesome. One of the all time absolute classics... should never have sold mine.
