1.
Hipshot Ultralite lic in Chrome. Bought for my BB300 on a whim... ex display stock no box so didn't know the size. Any how turn out to be to small. £Sold posted
2. Hi, yes 4 inline like a Yamaha BB or Fender Precision. I believe these are the smaller of the two sizes available. Roughly 13-14mm hole. The larger are 17-18mm
3. All sold
4. I wouldn't class it anything like chunky. It's not wafer thin or super skinny, but it doesn't feel like much of a leap going from my 90s Stage 1 to the 734a. 38mm to 40mm with a different profile. I think the best the for people to do is go out and try one.
5. BB1100S sold. BB300 still for sale
6. Bass cheapness
7. Phone Ashdown. They are very helpful.
8. 734a... it's a classy bit of kit. By far the easiest bass I have ever played. It's just right for me. Like a BB3000 in feel when on the strap but with an instantly playable 40mm neck. Sound?.. like a re fined BB1100s, smooth and even but has grind and bite when you dig in. I like it... Lots.
9. Aye, stick a Fender badge on, treble the price and watch them fly out the door. Yamaha... like a really good Fender, but dirt cheap.
10. Lots of interest, but still for sale.
11. I've never had an issue with the body size or weight of any BB bass. They are called a broad bass for that very reason. The new one feels similar to my BB1100S in size, smaller than the BB300 & BB3000. The 3000 was light in weight, the 734a feels about the same. In passive mode the treble control acts as a tone control. It's band rehearsal tomorrow night. It'll be getting a work out then. Everything about it feels slightly better than the 1100s, which is very good and has been my go to bass... even over my Warwick Stage 1. Find one, try it... we are all different. I'm already convinced the 734a is a great bass.
12. No problem.
13. Yes. Bargains. They are both very nice basses. But I now have a 734a so most of my gear is up for sale
14. Bin the flags. Get two Bald Eagles instead.
15. 40mm neck. Not as chunky as the bb1024 but nothing like the Ibanez SR800 I used to own, that was more like tooth pick. Of the four Yamaha basses I've owned. Bb300, Bb3000, Motion & Bb1100s this has the nicest neck for me. Satin finish is lovely. Very comfortable, it feels great. John at PMT Newcastle sorted me out. Top bloke, very helpful.
16. 625 posted. This has to go. New bass in.the building.
17. Reduced. I need these sold asap.
18. PMT, I ordered it a while ago though, not sure if they brought any more into stock. When I placed the original order PMT didn't know about the new range. Yamaha London also have them.
19. It sounds Fantastic, the eq is very nice, not harsh but has a bark to it when the mids are boosted. Built quality is excellent, strange but it didn't come with a battery so when we plugged it in it didn't work, even in passive. I felt right at home with it. It's still at the shop, I'm collecting on Monday as it was straight out the box, cardboard around the strings etc when I called in and wasn't set up. Oh... it looks cool as funk.
