2. All you need now Dave is Victorinox sponsorship and you can call it a swiss army tool seriously though sounds like you have crafted a fine piece of kit.
3. seems like a fantastic idea, whilst i don't know the pieces in the medley the bass playing sounds great. I will definately be purchasing this book
4. nice! shame i have neither the money or the need for it, if i hadnt just bought funkle's G-bass i would jump on this
5.
"I've set it up with a low-ish action and good intonation" I'd hate to see his idea of high action - My Cheap Chinese Double bass came with lower action than that!
my Grind 6 had better action than that wen it came from thomann and as 7string will vouch you could have abseiled from mine
6. i really really want a skeleton suit but i am to skinny as it is and if i wear skin tight attire folks get worried
7. I didnt like the nano bass balls much, to subtle and not hugely adjustable. to be fair i didnt get to try it at much volume because of snotty shop staff but lets just say i wasnt blown away. I am sticking to my Digitech BSW for weird ass funky sounds.
8.
You must be tall to stomp on those pedals
or really good at jumping

11. Awesome plan, dunno if i will be in a band that is capable of playing but i would turn up anyway for the music and banter
12.
steve lawson at the edinburgh festival is always a winner
Is he playing again this year? please say yes
13. " Would be a great piece of artwork for a music room. " If that were in my room i would cry every time i walked in, whoever did that can never be forgiven

which bass

Out of them I have only tried the Peavey and the Ibby and I would say go for the Peavey, not that the Ibanez is a bad instrument, I am just a Peavey whore
15.
ok, now this is something I wanted to do for kicks, as I have 2 small neon tubes (from PC tuning, etc) hanging around the house... though I'd like to go a little further... but I dont know how. The idea is to make the neons react (shifting in intensity) to the input level (clipping?) so that it would get more intense on harder picked notes and softer on lightly picked ones. Does anyone have any Idea of how to do this?
dunno if this helps in anyway: mxforum thread

MARK BASS
Dang, why can't we do as EVH did and describe it in shades/tones of colour? I like chocolatey brown with a dash of fresh cream.
My sound at the moment is too green brown I am looking for a more purple blue, seriously...well kinda I would love to try some markbass stuff at some point. Anyone know of a stockist in central Scotland
17. Overwater strings are good, cheap and free delivery
18.
extended range bass or ERB if you will, would be the correct term for the "instrument" in my avatar.
no no no the correct term is "power ranger" or alternatively superbassharpdoodah just kiddin dude that Bee Bass is gonna be awesome
19. I think this could look pretty schmexy, if it comes out well i will be posting a bass northwards for your sis to paint
20. I got some Warwick ones off Thomann nice and cheap (same time as my bass to I avoided postage). They seem to work great
21. I will have to try and get to this, looks good, just need to remember not to spend all my money when i get back to uni. I am also in need of a serious youtubing session, get my anoraking up to scratch
22. when i was gigging i put it right next to the drummer but that was only because we had no monitors and it was the only way the drummer could tell what was going on
23. that is a sexy beast, makes me want to attempt luthiery but i have no space for a workshop
24. thanks Bill , I am just adding all these ideas to my list of things to consider when i have money (and somewere to build a cab)
25. OK i will attempt to understand that lol. I know very little about the technical side and science of these things. I was just wondering how good it would sound with a low B. Basically at the moment I have trace elliot head and a peavey 15" cab and the low end i good but it is far to muddy sounding with very little top end. The cab in the link interested me because i have heard endless good comments about BFM design and i also liked the more traditional aesthetics. I am merely clocking up possibilities for when i have cash.
