It's sometimes unavoidable. If you've toured or gigged a lot you will have had to stop fuel or a pee or food on the late drive home... Just get proper insurance and take the necessary precautions where possible.

Had Friday off and then a double header Saturday. An early wedding, which was in a marquee woth torrential rain, thunder and lightening all round. The generator held out and it was all good. Then, a pub we do regularly afterwards, there were two different hen parties out, so it was a bit wild. Loads of singing and dancing though, so great fun! A good set of gigs, but I'm a gig a night guy nowadays! Back to back in one night is a bit of a slog!

Nice one Lozz. If it helps, or hinders... The AMB600 is an utterly brilliant amp. I don't have one as I love my Puma, but having used one; it'd sound great pushing 6x10s.

As far as EQ goes, I'd say the opposite is true. You should always send your signal pre EQ.

Both, if you're selling that Alpher! So many variables, it's hard to give a simple answer. Precision for me, if we're talking traditional Fender. Otherwise, jazz, if we're including the active Jazz V clones.

That's very nice! There must be a good market for these. Wonder if it'll become part of the range, in a non limited edition sort of way.

There was a pair that went for a silly low price on here not too long ago. Shame Bass Direct won't be carrying them, the exchange rate isn't favourable though.

No one says, crap, I've got to play thru an SVT/810 tho.. [/quote] Yep, I'd agree. I didn't love the sound at all. It was gnarly and driven, not what I'd go for at all. But, we had a 15k rig. This was just my monitor. The power was astonishing. Wherever I was on stage, and it was a big stage, you could just feel it. Like you say, it is certainly not just volume. It's hard to find the adjectives, I've played some lovely bass rigs. Many I prefer the sound of, but none match the 8x10 and SVT for 'heft'; and I can't wait to use that rig again sometime.

Undoubtedly a quality player. Seems like a good bloke as well. Im not sure what he does outside of teaching, probably not a huge amount as running his business is probably more than a full time job! But, he has seems to have mastered the bass to the point that he would be a top session player/touring musician if that is the direction he chose, as opposed to teaching. Maybe he did that in the past, I don't know?

I had a 78/79, very cool bass. Looked amazing, but.... weighed a ton. Really, it wasn't as good as the 2014 I had at the same time either. Just was worth twice as much and had more mojo.

I've been there too. Exact situation. Time to move on to something new!

Well, I played the Isle of Wight Festival today. I used the supplied rig, which was an Ampeg 8x10 and, I believe, a 300 watt all valve SVT head. OMG... HEFT! I didn't love the sound. But, it punched you so hard in the back. You could just feel it. We had a 15k PA as well, which was amazing. But it felt like the fridge would have filled the whole venue!

We've since dropped Locked Out and Treasure but still do Runaway Baby; which is a great song for bassists. Mars is a quality musician and Artis is an awesome bassist.

Have you phoned the shop? I know he has been away recently...

I had it too. My LM3 was OK, but LM2 used to flip out occasionally and do the thermal protection thing. It was a fussy old thing.
