Totally what @Happy Jacksaid. Look at the heel, you can see a thin strip below the mother of pearl which should be inside the body, the 'fresh' wood tapers down the side of the neck towards the fretboard indicating the neck has let go and pivoted forwards under string tension. I'd slacken off the strings a bit until its fixed. Not enough to lose the bridge but to take the stress off the neck joint. I'd hate to see it let go properly and damage the top as it's a beautiful guitar. Best of luck with whatever route you take. 🙂👍

It's not that I don't think they're worth good money, I just wasn't aware of them to be honest, they've never popped up on my radar somehow. I really like the look of it but was hoping it was going to be more of a quirky bargain. Just lack of knowledge on my part. 🙂👍

That light blue one looks lovely, shame about the dead spot. I've been trying to avoid stuff we gig as it makes me realise how much I miss it, but the snippet of Nite Club made me go and listen to a live version of it. I love playing that one live, the guitar and vocals used to leave it ages to come back in on the 'that bass part'. Just me and the drums grooving and everyone dancing. Octave runs galore 😁.

Hmm, ended at £420 but reserve not met. I don't know what the seller was hoping for but I didn't realise these were so highly valued (or not, given the bids) but they seem to go up for sale edging towards a grand.

I think candy paint gets called candy apple because CAR tends to be the most common colour.

In the custom world, a tinted lacquer applied over a metallic (usually a coarse gold or silver) basecoat is just 'candy' paint, the 'apple red' or 'apple green' is the colour. A similar process is used on lots of modern production cars but it's known as 'three stage pearl', and isn't usually as extreme as a candy finish.
