  1. Wow! Even if this were 100% stock it would be A LOT of bass for the money, but with these upgrades this is a total steal. I have an A6, which I absolutely love, so I really don't need this, but ... argh, the GAS!
  2. I too am astonished that this hasn't been snapped up ages ago. Great bass, great seller, great price. Not only is Peter a top dude to trade with, but he is also a total perfectionist (in the best possible sense) when it comes to bass gear. Even allowing for the fact that Stingrays are consistently great, quality-wise, if Peter has owned this bass you can be sure that it will be an absolute peach. Buy with confidence!
  3. Thanks, Peter! Any chance this beauty might finally tempt you over to the 5-string dark side? (A long shot, I know!)
  4. Up for sale is this gorgeous Fender Am Pro II Jazz V in ultra classic Olympic White/Rosewood/Tort. Straight to the pics: Bought new earlier this year, and home use only since then. Apart from a few very light marks on the pickguard this bass is essentially in immaculate, as-new condition. Weight is a shade under 4.3kg, so nice and light for a 5-string Jazz, but despite the light weight this bass balances perfectly on the strap with zero neck dive. As you may be aware, the consensus is that Fender got it right with this second iteration of the American Pro series, and I can only agree. Fit and finish are top notch, and the rolled edges on the fingerboard and the silky satin finish on the back of the neck make for a lovely luxurious playing experience. Best of all, the tones are bang on: the bridge pup is super punchy, and the neck pup has a particularly pleasing depth and clarity to it. I'm not normally a massive fan of the Jazz neck pup sound, but this one has me properly converted! Comes with original and very posh hard case, with all the case candy stowed on board - hangtags, tools, etc. Currently strung with D'Addario Pro Steels EPS170-5, 45-130. Reason for sale: simply to free up funds. Although I love this bass it hasn't usurped my Sandberg VM5 (and I'm fast coming to the conclusion that nothing ever will), so up for sale it must go. £1300 collected from Birmingham B30, or happy to courier anywhere in the UK (except NI, thanks for nothing, Brexit) at extra cost. I will get an Interparcel quote done for you - it's usually an extra £30 or so unless you want guaranteed next day delivery or full insurance, which will push it up a fair bit. My feedback thread: Thanks for looking!
  5. It's my very great pleasure to start this feedback thread for AMP, a.k.a. Alan. Alan recently bought my Fender Am Pro II Jazz. Very prompt payment, friendly comms throughout and no hassle whatsoever - the perfect trade, in short. Alan even sent me a short video clip of him gigging with his new purchase a week or so later - how cool is that? Enjoy the Dark Night, Alan - so glad to see it has gone to such an excellent new home!
  6. Lovely to hear from you, Mick, and to hear that you and Sonic are out gigging again! Wish I could be there!
  7. Wow, what a bargain! Seriously, folks, £700 is a steal for this.
  8. Yeah, just noticed that too. This type of link always worked for me in the past, so scratching my head here! Can anyone advise please? Thanks!
  9. Fender American Professional II Jazz - Dark Night/maple Up for sale is this gorgeous Fender Am Pro II Jazz in the sumptuous 'Dark Night' finish. Bought new in late 2020 and home use only since then, so barring a few marks on the pickguard this is in pretty much mint condition - not even the traditional ding at the end of the headstock yet! This is the joint best Jazz I've ever owned or played (it's a tie with the legendary Sonic the Wonderjazz, now owned by my excellent friend Mickeyboro of this parish). It looks, feels, sounds and plays beautifully. Fit and finish are top class (Fender really giving the boutique builders a run for their money here, I think), and it has perfect balance with zero neck dive despite weighing in at less than 4kg. I really cannot fault it. So if it's that great, then why on earth am I selling it? The somewhat counter-intuitive answer is that I am selling it precisely because I like it so much. It sounds and feels so lush that I really want to gig it, but for me gigging is a strictly 5 strings business, so sadly I need to sell this lovely 4-stringer in order to recoup some of the cost of the 5-string version (which I've already gone ahead and bought, so no trade offers please!). £1250 collected from Birmingham B30, or happy to courier to you for an extra £25.
  10. Peter just bought my Fender American Pro II Precision, in as friendly, straightforward and enjoyable a transaction as you could possibly imagine. It was also a real pleasure to meet and chat with Peter when he came to collect in person last night. He even bought along a Future Impact 3 for me to have a go on - big fun, and he now has me sorely tempted! As well as being a proper bass connoisseur, Peter is a passionate bass synth advocate, who really knows his stuff, and is fizzing with great new ideas. If I were running Panda Audio or Source Audio I would be offering him a full-time R&D job on the spot! Enjoy the Precision, Peter, and hope to see you and your partner again soon! You're always welcome at Gramme Towers.
  11. Tom bought my Fender Player Series buttercream Precision. Faultless comms, super prompt payment and a very friendly person to trade with from start to finish - Basschat at its finest! Enjoy the bass, Tom!
  12. Thanks for the love, guys! Yes, it's a killer bass all round. And now sold, too!
  13. Yes, these really are as good as the hype says they are. Proper P tone, effortless playability, lovely satin neck finish, lightweight without suffering any neck dive, and solidly built all round - astounding value for money, and the Buttercream finish is as cool as feck. This one was bought as slight B stock as there were a couple of minor imperfections in the paintjob, both pictured - one on the lower horn, and the other near the jack socket (at lower edge of pickguard), but they are VERY hard to spot, and have never bothered me. Other than that, pretty much immaculate apart from a bit of pickguard swirl. Bought new just before Lockdown 1, and it has been a home use only instrument ever since - although it has seen a lot of home use, as it has been a joy to noodle on throughout this crapsville year. In an ideal world I'd love to keep it, but the need to free up space and generate some cash means this lovely bass has to go to a new home. £450 collected from Birmingham B30, or happy to courier to you in a well padded gigbag protected by bubble wrap and a sturdy cardboard box at cost. No trades on this one, thanks, so please don't ask! Thanks for looking!
  14. Two Jazz pickguards for sale - one mint green and one white pearl. £15 posted each, or £25 posted for the pair. Note that these were cut to fit a Fender Player series bass (i.e. the MIM Jazz). I therefore cannot guarantee that these will fit other models.
  15. Quent bought my Fender American Performer PJ. Perfect transaction from start to finish: prompt payment, great comms throughout, and a thoroughly nice, friendly guy, too - the perfect buyer, in short! Enjoy the PJ, Quent - really glad it's going to a good home!
  16. Weight is a svelte 8.93 lb / 4.052 kg Balances perfectly on the strap - absolutely no neck dive.
  17. Thanks! Actually that's not a bad idea at all - the Classic Vibe Tele has a very good rep! Hmmm....
