1. Ive not had time to recordings yet, but there is an interesting new development. The amp makes a noise when turning off, its only done it twice, but it doesnt sound right! The noise is like a drop falling into a glass of water, kind of an upwards whistle! (completely different to the whistley hiss!) Any ideas? Do you think i should send it back? Edit: I've just noticed that it only makes this noise if you turn it off soon after turning it on. If you leave it 30 secs before turning it off again its just a small click. Can any other F500 (or F1) owners see if theirs does it too?

 3. Yeah, thinking about it, doods comment about the power amp makes sense, You can get rid of it by turning the level of the tweeter right off.. I'll try and record some samples and see what you think!
 4. Hmm, i'll try and record it so you can see what you think! I cant decide whether is a hiss or a whistle!
 5.
Its probably nothing, but best to always check
Thats what i'm thinking!
 6.
Hmm Its a Ray with an F500? Do you have you mids/highs boosted a lot on your bass?
I dont, but I mean that even with no bass plugged in or the volume turned right down on the amp there seems to be an inherent hiss through the tweeter. I might be making too much of it!
 7.
Hi! What do you mean by hiss? There is a certain 'noise' with nearly all tweeters, especially if you run your treble high and have the tweet on full. My DB212 makes a VERY slight noise near the tweet but you have to really listen for it. Thats with a very similar LM3. Usually I have tweeters on max 1/3...or off.
The noise is the same whether the treble is up/down or the amp is muted/on full. The his almost has a pitch to it (but not really!) Its only very slight, only noticeable at quiet practice levels... If its normal im not bothered at all!
 8. Does anyone here have an aguilar GS112, Do you find that the tweeter on your Gs112 makes a very slight (very quiet) electronicy sounding whistly hiss? (That makes it sound worse than it is!) Its not really bothering me, but I want to make sure its not a dodgy cab! You can only hear it when the tweeter is on (regardless of settings on the amp..) Edit: see further down!
 9. For me, it would either be an igig/mono gigbag, or custom earplugs.
 10. New rig! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
 11.
I find being the gig organiser for the bands works well
+1 I play with 4 bands, and manage 2 of them, and it makes it much simpler!
 12. I think my mind is made up! http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=89918

 14. Yeah, I have seen the iGig cases, they look good, but i'd prefer something a bit less bulky and more tight-fitting I think!
 15. Hmm, If I couldnt fit the cables in with the F500 in the front could I put them in the pocket for the straps on the back, or would they fall out? It would only need to be for one instrument, speaker and power cable, anything more and i'd take the F500 in a laptop case anyway, so I can fit plenty of other stuff in...
 16. I think I've found the answer to my own question!
You're not getting anything else in that pocket other than a thin cable with an F1 in there. The iGig is much better for a ton of storage. The Mono would work if you're going completely minimal- as in basses, micro amp, and one instrument and speaker cable, and nothing else.
Hmm, this could be close!
 17. Hmm, do think It would be thick enough to fit the F500 with a power lead, a (thick) speakon lead and a jack to jack lead in it as well? The F500 is 1.73 in. / 4.4 cm (1U)
 18. Ive been thinking about a Mono gigbag, and it looks great, but I want something i can fit my markbass F500 in, and I cant find the pocket dimensions anywhere! Does anyone know them?
 19.
seemed to be more bottom end from the mahogany ply, just a shame they don't do them in the colours!
I found that when I got to try them both too, the Db sounded a bit thin to me!
 20.
i dont live on my own and we are semi detached it cant exactly have it loud
I dont think he's blasting it!
 21.
the buckles offered are metal (different colour finishes) but I didn't want any buckles knocking about in my guitar case so he offered other adjustment types (the slots etc) which didn't require metalware and/or a selection of button hole positions. I ended up having no adjustment at all as I knew the length I use and its not likely to change. Its wide enough for me not to require any padding, but I suppose that's personal preference. (I also had little in the way of edge decoration - just a single line, simple sort me)
From earlier....
 22.
All watts are the same but due to the much discussed harmonics you get from valves, a valve amp "sounds" louder than an equal SS amp. Which, I think, is the point PJ is making in the video.
Thats what I meant! I just couldnt explain it quite as well as you!
 23.
I thought he said TUBE power!
He did, I think he's just saying it is about as loud as 2000 watt solid state amp would be, but your right, it is a bit misleading!
