  1. I need a bit of work on my bass, and have been recomended someone in london, but its going to be a bit tricky to get my bass up there, so does anyone know a good, dependable double bass luthier in south wales? chees, Pete.
  2. I have a Blessing student trombone for sale. I have kept this as a spare instrument, but I sometimes use it instead of my bach! It plays well with a fairly good slide. No real damage, only one or two tiny dinks that do not affect the tone or performance of the instrument. The trombone does not come with a case, but cases can be found very cheaply on line, or I can include a well used ritter gigbag for £30 extra. Thanks for looking. 3. I did a gig once, and the double bassist had smart car!

  5. Hmm it sounds ok, but no ebony board, and the fingerboard seems to rattle a bit on certain notes! (not string buzz, the actual fingerboard!) 7. Someone is selling a 1950s/60s plywood bass localy to me, I have it on loan at the moment for a few days to try it out, hes asking £700 for it. Is this too much to spend on an all plywood instrument?

  10. Hi, Im studying jazz electric bass at RWCMD and ive started to take up double bass and Im now looking to buy one. I dont really have a clue when it comes to buying, so I thought I'd ask on here! Im after somthing probably around the £1000 mark (if thats enough to buy somthing useable!) and it would be used for jazz work, mainly pizz. Ive heard that some of the thomman basses are ok starter basses, Is that true? Cheers, Pete.
