  1. They really are great combos - I can't fault it!
  2. Ped bought a bass from me this week & everything went completely smoothly. We had a natter about various things whilst we sorted out shipping & stuff. Always friendly to talk to
  3. Would be interested in a possible trade for a decent powered stage monitor - realise it’s a bit of a long shot but you never know 😉
  4. That would be my perfect trade actually! A Status headless 4, maybe with a bendwell as it would match my Streamline 😉
  5. Open to trades for something simple like a Fender USA Jazz or Precision. Could even trade up with cash from me for something particularly nice.
  6. I miss my old Spacebass. It was white pearlescent but this one is definitely prettier in purple!
  7. Magenta maple cap over ash
  8. Are they original Suhr strings? I have a Pink Suhr with pink windings on the strings and wondered what brand they were!
  9. I remember having one of these in the shop and we got to try it out with a Mesa 6x10. Standing about 3 metres away it made your rib cage vibrate 🤪

    Sida79

Arranged a sale with Sida79 recently and it couldn't gone more smoothly. Excellent communications and money transfer went through flawlessly from Croatia to UK. Would definitely recommend dealing with him any time
  11. Using my Stomp set up to just add a little zing from my Sadowsky preset & this thing is really inspiring to play - haven't been 'grabbed' by a new bass like this for ages! Here's a quick phone pic with the guard off:
  12. Been playing mine today. I love the neck profile. It’s really slim and shallow, has an almost ‘flattened’ feel to it. Reminds of some Status basses. Nice and light and definitely giggable! It arrived perfectly set up with a very low action and there’s even room to go down a shade more if I really wanted. Can’t praise Andrew Morgan at A Strings Guitars enough for sorting this out for me: https://www.astrings.co.uk/service/about/
  13. Price Reduced by £100! Now £1,800 for this fabulous, and unique, Status.
  14. Price dropped by £50 Now £950 for a lovely custom bass using highest quality materials, electronics and hardware!
  15. Stripped the old girl down today after a tip-off from someone else here and discovered it's a '72 not a '74. Neck & pickups date it to March/April '72. I'm going to withdraw from sale for the moment.
  16. I have this album & the 12" as well. I always wish it was longer but it is 2:33 of loveliness! The 12" adds nothing to the album version - maybe a bit thumpier in the low end but not worth the money I paid for it though. Maybe I was feeling a little Dennis Brown at the time. . . I have the original import of this as well Prefer this one though: I think this might have been my first 12" reggae purchase. Not sure though, it may have been this:
  17. I think it was originally in Hanway Street. Just north of Oxford Street near Tottenham Court road Station. That was my downfall really as my Uni was just 10 minutes walk away. Somewhat spookily I just read the article that showed those pictures and someone mentions going to Hanway Street & buying African Dub Chapter III in 1978 as it had just come out. They were playing it in the shop & I asked what it was. I recognised Dennis Brown's voice but not the dubby version that was being played The guy behind the counter said he'd only tell me if I agreed to buy one - was never sure how serious he was, lol. Anyway, I said OK and walked away with a copy 'fresh off the boat' I think it was my first purchase there Of course, what I didn't realise was everything they played on the shop's sound system sounded bloody marvellous - cost me a small fortune that place!
  18. Still looking for some Diamond Socks to wear with some Earthman Shoes. . .
