2. It's simple to me. Will redoing the guitar parts generate more work / money than not redoing them?
 3.
'Study Music not Musicians' - Lincoln Goines
'Bollocks' - J. Lager
Welcome, Jason.
Indeed, from another Cliff fan.
 4.
IME most bass players who want a compressor actually want a limiter (which admittedly is just a specifically set compressor).
I just want some more lager. Have you got any left after your CS3 mod?
 5.
Will there be any problem if i combine this 4ohms head with the 8ohms cab and what's the final output?
No, 200w?
Or any other suggestions for the cab?
Barefacedbass Compact. Read this.
 6.
...on the lesbian scale she's definitely more of a Rosie O' Donnell than a Lindsay Lohan.
I vote no then.
 7. I had an ABM EVOII rig [2x10 500w combo + 2x10 cab] until recently. I only changed 'cos I wanted something lighter with far less knobs. That rotary / slider combination did me head in a bit, but I am from Portsmouth.
 8.
Probably
9.
It's the idiot drummer that is conviced we can get the 5 tracks done in the 8 hours, he just can not see further than his nose.
You've made the classic mistake of asking him to chip in for it haven't you? Remember, all he can see is his next bottle of White Lightning.
 10.
She's actually a Pompey supporter Me, It's up the blues too. CFC blues.
An exile? Poor lass.
 11.
My daughter is a 'scummer'...
That's terrible that is - the cure is a blue and white shirt with a yellow and blue crest.
 12. Everyone will be telling you that their rig is the best, so I'll start. Hartke LH-500 and a Barefacedbass Compact. Or an LH-1000 & a Barefaced Big One for silly volume.
 13. The '79 2EQ I often have a use of is fine and sits better in the mix with me 3-piece Krautrock band than the KSD Jazz. I just whack everything up then back the treble off a bit - lovely. It's not a Spector though for which, funnily enough, I use the same tone settings on the bass
 14.
Looking for £380 for the lot. Collected from Leeds
£380 the lot? Madre de Dios - that is a bonkers price - you can't even get a new LH for under £300 now. Have a bump.
 15. The 3-amp fuse that came in the power lead of my LH-1000 ahould have been 5.
 16.
Stuart Clayton for me, he's a scary player.
+1, and good teacher. I remember urb doing some crazy sh*t at the SEBB. Bernie Goodfellow can play some too, but that EBS freak is a right show off I am now slightly better than my 16 month old daughter after much practice.
 17.
I played a Jazz with the S1 switch last week, and with the switch engaged it sounded sweet. Really really nice. Obviously because it's A Good Thing, Mr Fender has ditched the idea - so is it possible to get a similar sound out of one of the huge range of current Jazz range? Passive P with a J neck would be ideal of course, but I've not made my mind up about the look/quality of either Aerodyne yet.
http://www.guitar-mod.com/Merchant2/mercha...egory_Code=BSK2 ?
 18.
At long last the call has finally happened! Bernie called on Friday and was playing my bass and told me that it is ready to go! Even made me listen to it for a few seconds - now that it torture! Hoping to go up one day in the week to get her - can't wait. Will post some pics as soon as I have her home.
Let us know & we'll all turn up to see her off.
 19.
ecky thump everytime i post it ends in barefaced GAS! 175w @ 8ohms whats that going to do for me?
A headache. The ohms aren't so important with such a high sensitivity cab. Probably. I'm nearly halfway to me Big One. Woo-hoo.
 20. Try this. It'll do both. And fits in the boot.
 21. That silver jobbie's a crazy looking mofo, eh?
 22. From the Spector bass owners manual....
Truss rods can be tightened. Most things in life that can be tightened, can be tightened too far! When that happens there is usually an accompanying sound and ensuing pain in the stomach. When in doubt, seek professional advice. An ounce of prevention and all that.
From what you say, it sounds like you might need a shim at the neck end of the neck pocket. Try a search for shim on here - someone has linked to some very handy diagrams but I can't find them right now... EDIT: Yer tiz. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=184507 Maybe the bridge end then? Who the f*** am I, Quincy?
 23.
Ask jonnylager what he'd do if he had a ~1000W amp and some spare cash! Alex
Sorry to keep going on about it, but.... The Barefacedbass Big One.
...the cabs didn't look like they would handle the 1100 watts (apparently) that the svt6 put out... I have started to think about changing my 8x10 to a 4x10 and 1x15 setup for flexibility and ease of transport. Can anyone suggest cabs that would suit running with this head?
My LH puts 750w into 8ohms / 1100w into 4 ohms and I guess around 900 into the 6 ohms of the Big One. I couldn't get it above 6/10 without soiling myself and breaking the fixtures and fittings of a reasonably sized arts centre. Gig volume was one and a bit. And it's a one-hand lift even for a back-crip like me, lighter than the LH. Alex might chuck one of his tilt pads in too! It will piss your guitarists off more than an 8x10 for the power it kicks out, cos it's so small.
