1.
I have to say, despite being lovely basses, the necks on these feel massive and cumbersome to me. Everybody's different though, and I know there's loads of people who love 'em. Good luck with the sale!
That's how it felt to me. It was fine really, until I recently picked up an SR again and realised that they are the basses for me.
2. That green one, my god... Good luck with the sale!
3. Probably £475, as it literally is in brand new condition. Still has the original strings that aren't worn out yet.
4.
may I suggest, as a new player, speed will also come for you with practice, and good technique- and that technique IMO is more important than neck skinniness. If I were you I would stick with this bass. EDIT: looking at the photos, a setup may also work for you
As I mentioned, this is a feeler and although the bass is nice, I do love the Ibanez SR's and always have. I'm not sure how to describe it, but they feel 'immediately' comfortable. I'm not sure about getting it set up, the string height and intonation feel fine and there isn't any fret buzz. And I realise that speed comes with practice but I know that in the back of my mind i'll always feel a bit inhibited by it. To be 100% honest, I got talked into buying it without playing it. I'd been without a bass for 6 months and was awaiting a new one, so when I got offered a really good deal by the shop I just took it after being told that this bass was amazing and all the rest of it. I know that the G&L basses have such an amazing reputation but in comparison to a few other basses, I just feel that it's not for me.
5. Hi everyone. This is more of a feeler topic but i'm putting my G&L L-2500 Tribute up for trade! I bought it brand new at full price earlier this year and is still in perfect condition. The only sign of wear is on a few of the higher frets where there are small black spots that will come off with a good polish. Trade options i'm considering are pretty much anything, but must be a 5 string and am happy to add up to £100-£200 extra in cash for trading up. Ideal bass would be an Ibanez SR or a Spector, anything with a slimmer neck than this. The neck on this is certainly not chunky, but i'm looking for the slimmest I can get. Added for sale price: £400 collected, for an essentially brand new bass. I realise that this is quite high for a 'second-hand' bass, but it is in the same condition as when I bought it, and as these retail for quite a bit more, i'm prepared to wait for someone to come along and buy it at a price that is right for me. For shipping, contact me for a quote as a hard case will need to be purchased, as i'm not too happy to send it to you without one, considering the condition that it's in. And if you want anymore pictures, just ask! 8. It's a shame you're not accepting 5 string trades, lovely bass! Good luck with the sale.
9.
That's a no-brainer. Another 80quid or so gets you a Schaller 4D to slap on there and mate, it's a keeper. Really missing mine!
Trust me, if I knew how to install pickups i'd be keeping this.
10. Just threw this up last night out of boredom and after hearing such a sweet bass line on a song I didn't think I liked! I believe a fellow bass chatter is guilty for the bass line played in the backing track too. Hopefully I do it a little bit of justice!
11. For sale is my 'not-much-used' Ashdown After Eight 15w practice amp. Bought it with my first bass and have recently upgraded which makes this surplus to requirements. Amp is in great condition apart from one of the six rubber feet, which is missing (as seen in the picture). Amp sounds great and was the reason I bought it in the shop, as well as being a great name. The price i'm asking is £50 collected. As far as trades go, i'm after tuner pedals or effects. 12. For sale is my Yamaha RBX 170 in Black. I'd say the condition is fairly good and there is no noticeable damage from the outside. There is one dink in the back of the neck as shown in the pictures. The body is in good condition and mainly needs a good polish with a cloth. The strings are new and it has been set up so it plays really nicely. Only reason i'm getting rid of it is because I spent £600 on a new bass which makes this surplus to requirements! Price is £80 and is collection only. As far as a trades go, i'm only really after effects, so please let me know! Also comes with a white Peavey strap and gig bag.
13. Just had a listen, not expecting to like it that much, but it was really really awesome. And a wicked sounding bass, too.
14. John Myung. Although a lot of people know him, his name isn't thrown around much because it's not obvious to most people how talented he really is. For me, he's the epitome of what a bassist should be. Technical enough to play virtually anything in the band that he plays with, but smart enough to know that simple things sound just as good as complicated things sometimes.

16. Helps a ton, thank you so much. I admit, I was lazy (well not really, but forgetful!) and didn't search beforehand.
