Hey guys n gals, Up for sale is my EBS multidrive. I got this recently to trial as an overdrive, but it's just not quite to my taste - I need something REALLY overdriven. Sadly the previous owner disposed of the box and manual (who does that????) but it is alsmost new condition and fullty functional. Has an active/passive pad on the side which I thought was a pretty cool feature. Looking for £45, postage would be £5 to mainland uk

Ivan's article is an interesting read, regardless of whether or not some of it is factual. Here is what I understand from my VERY limited understanding of American history. 1. There was a war of independence to expel the British, and a subsequent constituion written to govern the newly formed United States of America. 2. The southern states agreed to leave the United States due to disagreement over various issues. This is referred to as the southern secession 3. There was a civil war between the north and south after the north invaded. Hang on a second, didn't we just vote out of something??? -
I'll be putting locks on the inside to keep them lot out!!!!! 😂

Cheers dunc, Mrs damonjames is more than happy to afford me the space. All my bass gear is in the spare room she uses as an office and is sick of looking at it. Plus, she doesn't have to listen to my "rubbish" music this way 😂

Now that looks the part my friend!!! If you were on stage playing I doubt anyone would notice it's not the real thing. Nice work!

Haha!!! I'll be surface mounting them in trunking to prevent any noise leaking through the holes in the wall, so loads of scope to add extras if required. But ther will be loads!!

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay in posting more info but I've been mad busy!! I am hoping by the end of this week to have some proper progress photos for you! So, I mentioned a few of the challenges in my earlier post and picture regarding the size/shape of the room, but also eluded to a few others. One of which is that because my Practice room is wedged between the laundry/toilet and the garage, all of the plumbing is run on my side of the wall. This is what I have been busy doing this last week, along with other extension related work. So I have come up with some ideas. I didn't want to have an 8" thick stud wall to hide the sewer main which runs horizontally along the wall, as well as the water and central heating pipes running vertically in one corner, I am planning to box these in. I haven't had a look yet, but I'm tipping the extractor fans for the laundry/toilet will be dudcted in a similar way at the top of the wall, so again, I'll box these in and create a big recessed section to hang my basses in. This way I can get rid of my guitar rack and create a bit more floor space while dealing with the awkward nature of hiding the services. As I say, I'll try and get some pictures of this up shortly so it makes some more sense. I will also be tackling some of the sound insulation problems this week if I can get the time!!!

Apples business model??? What about pro tools??? Now you need to buy the software AND pay an annual subscription. It's probably not so bad for professional studio's, but for the home user it's a bit rich!!!

"Dad, I want to play bass, who should I listen to?"

Ok, here goes 1. Master of puppets - Metallica 2. Core - Stone temple pilots 3. Back in Black - AC/DC 4. Blood sugar sex magic - Red hot chilli peppers 5. Chic greatest hits Bit of a mix, I know but there is some stuff to inspire, it also some stuff that is playable as a beginner! -

Ok, firstly have you had the injury assessed?? If you have, what is the issue?? If you have bruising from the accident, if it were me, I'd just do the gig. Simplify where you can, turn down a bit so if you do slip, it will be less noticeable. Let's face it, it's only bass, 99% of people including your band will even notice if you do slip a little despite how important we think we are 😂 I have just had a similar scenario as I am currently suffering a wrist tendon injury, from either over doing it playing gigs without sufficient practice, or from all the DIY around the house at the minute or a combination of the two. I was advised to not do either for 3-4 weeks but had / gigs to do before our summer break over August. I used a wrist brace, ibuprofen (until it gave me the runs), strapping and ice to do the gigs and have run the risk. It is entirely your call, but your order of options should be do the gig, get a dep and cancel as a last option

Oh my.... is this a made in USA version?? If so this is an absolute steal. I had a Korean diamond series (not rob deleo signature but looked exactly the same) and had passive Seymour duncan spb2's. It was absolutely stunning in looks, tone, playability and weight. It is probably up their with the best bass I have ever played. The only reason I sold it is I do tend to be a bit of gear snob, and I was in a fender phase. It is a stupid reason to sell a bass I know... but we can't keep them all. I am playing 5 strings now, but this is seriously killing me as Rob De Leo is one of my favourite players, he is amazing. I would love to see more pics of this!!!!

As I said in the original post, it's not the biggest space in the world!! It's 1900d x 3000w and I know it looks like a low ceiling in the pics, but it is a manageable 2050h.

Cheers Norris, yes I have seen the soundbloc/sound board. That was going to be the weapon of choice, they also do the resilient bars and additional insulation so was going to look into all of this. A job for later in the week I suspect lol

On the other side of th wall mate!!! Lol

Ok so excuse the crappy drawing, but I wanted to give some relevance to the strange layout!! The house has been modified several times from original by previous owners, and that groovy door used to be access from the garage through to the garden. It was being used and a storage cupboard as it is like a little tunnel lol, but had been sheeted off in the dining room side. I'll get some exact measurements when I get home, but it terms of using it for recording, it's kind of a triple whammy in terms of the don't do's for designing a studio, it's small, it's a rectangular shape AND has a low ceiling. But I will have to see how it goes. I have some other challenges to negotiate over the coming weeks, but will keep you all posted!!!

it is really interesting Les, how your perception can change. I must have seen hundreds of pics of you guys on facebook, and also seen you live - the flags were probably there! I have just grown up with them being a symbol of rebellion (Sorry Blue, ill plead being an ignorant Aussie!!). I have to be honest, when I saw that picture with the two flags hanging, it did have a negative impact - the only thing missing is a guy in a klan hood!!! Glad you have decided to drop the flag - the act is strong enough to survive. Good luck with it. -

It represents southern American pride to WHITE southern Americans, but I wonder if the southern African American community feel the same? I feel for Tex on this one, as it is part of the "cowboy" imagery, but it may be time to rethink, perhaps the Stars and Stripes would do? I know you guys well enough to know you are not white supremacists, but a passer by may jump to that conclusion! Hope it hasn't caused too much grief!
