Says the man with the worlds largest Spector collection 😂

Won’t you then get stung on duty when you bring it through?? Pretty sure items like that need to be documented on the way out!

Funny you mention it Paul, I currently have the plum stain one tuned BEAD for tonight’s gig to help with some of the songs where I used to use the low B. It is managing with standard gauge string ok, but doesn’t sound amazing. Thicker string and longer scale would sound amazing. Don’t start me GASSING!!!!

I could ask a family friend, but I’m not so sure that a bass would pass through as a “gift” 😂

Does anyone recall what the actual shipping costs were? Just trying to get a ball park figure in my head

Ok, probably around 2 years ago I bought my first stingray 5, and it was a revelation. I decided that I was going to transition to playing 5ers full time, so I sold all my basses (including my previos go to bass a Spector euro) and bought a stingray 5 HS so I would have a spare, and to have some extra versatility. These two basses have served me well, and I thought it had cured GAS, until I woke up one day after a gig with sciatic pain from my lower back through to the back of my knee 😮. It took a couple of weeks to figure out that it was only after playing gigs that this would flair up, and could only put it down to the weight of the ‘rays (10.5 lbs each five or take). So I made the drastic descision to switch back to 4 strings, and today saw these two lovely ladies arrive. I have had limited time on them tonight, but they are just amazing. The fit, feel, weight and tone are perfect, familiar but new at the same time. I am still getting used to no low B, and wider string spacing which will no doubt take a bit but so far couldn’t be happier with the choice. I had forgotten how great these basses really are!!!

I’m sure this thread has been done, but I’m a simple guy and can’t figure out the new search function 😄 Mods, feel free to move if not appropriate. So ive seen something, just trying to figure out how much it’s going to cost once landed here and also if anyone has organised shipping from this side (seller not keen to organise international shipping) anyone have any experience with this recently?

Hey everyone! FINALLY I have some pics to upload, it is still a mile away from being finished, but I am in at least. I had my first trial session and the results were ok but not great. It was late at night, so the house was silent except for me, she couldn't hear the music, but could hear my bass. So I will try and decouple the amp via some concrete bricks, ply and thick foam. I was hoping that I could have isolated a lot more of the noise coming in also, but perhaps I was expecting too much. When we carpet the spare room upstairs, it will help (currently bare floor boards), and as I continue to fill my room, hopefully it will absorb some of the noise. While I'm not 100% happy, it is better than if I had just sheeted it in normal board, I am co Disney if that much. But at least I have my own space where I can shut out the world and play!!
