2. The only Fender on my bucket list. Love it.
3. Nice one Mr D. Geezers Lakland is a cracking P bass.
4. That is a very tempting price indeed. Bump!
5.
What kinda annoys me is that things like Steinbergers are seen as 80s fashion/retro when, in fact, they have serious merit as design, construction and playing masterpieces.
The greatest bass design of all time.
6. Your name is more important than the one on the headstock. Remember yourself.
7.
Without thinking I would strongly say that I don't and haven't followed trends. But when I think about it I probably have very strongly followed trends without thinking!
Indeed... The vast majority of society are very much wide open to manipulation. I wonder if each and both of you realise as you read this?
8.
They seem quite rare, or more like not a lot of people on here seem to have them , or are you just hiding them
Zon's are absolutely peerless and sit comfortably at the very top of the bass guitar food chain.
9. My honest advice for this type of question remains the same......Play them all and buy your favourite. Instrument choice is entirely subjective!
10. Boyd Duckett.
11. She is amazing...would love to go.
12.
Ah, thanks guys, I only asked about de tuning as just about every bass I've ever tried at a shop has been unpacked and hung up on a wall at least half a tone down, and I assumed it was like that from the manufacturers who couldn't possibly know how long it would be before that bass was sold/setup properly/tuned to pitch etc. also do you think it will be ok as long as the body is supported and the neck is not touching anything? Thanks in advance Cheers Pete
I honestly don't think there's any sound rationale for shops to store basses in this way... I am confident your method of storage will be absolutely fine.

14. Pete, I am no expert but I would suggest that you don't down tune the basses. The necks are supposed to be under tension. I would guess that the single biggest factor involved in the safe storage of instruments (especially wooden instruments) is one of keeping them stored at an appropriate temperature/humidity. A simple rule of thumb is that if the storage temperature is not comfortable for a person (too hot OR too cold) then it is uncomfortable for a wooden bass.
15.
I feel a bit trapped like in a relationship you think if I walk away I will regret it and maybe it will get better. But I might be better off on my own or moving on to something else.
I think you should give it up. If it's for you you will come back to it ....
16. Anyone willing to take the time to put helpful footage like this for free out there deserves huge praise. Great teacher, great player.
17.
Fenders are always on trend.
Eh...actually, no. Fenders went through a very untrendy time during the 80's and early 90's. They are the current trend.
18. Amazing pictures of some amazing instruments (and some interesting people). Must have been a fantastic weekend....next time I need to be there!
19. Awesome bass there...congrats!
20. Here is my ideal Fender!
21.
As pointed out in a recent thread, it's only them wot can't play with a pick themselves that has a go at them that does...
Oh I can do it...it's just uncool! Runs for cover....
22. For me playing the bass with a pick is almost as uncool as using flat wound strings ...almost
23.
im awaiting inspiration on a colour scheme
Sea foam green, or dare I say it......pink!
