1. Bump for another pic, someone asked for more details, it has been signed, numbered and dated inside the bottom plate. It is number 601 and dated November last year. The picture also shows off a very tidy wiring job!
2. The money is going to be going towards an Aguilar Agro so if you have one you want to trade against it drop me a PM, I'm waiting to hear back on one though so it would have to be quick
3. Picked this pedal up recently from a guy over on talkbass.com, sounds amazing but after band practice it turns out it's only working out on one song, as much as I'd like to I can't justify keeping this pedal for one song so unfortunately it's going to have to go in order to fund something I'll be able to use a bit more. Looking for [s]£130[/s] [s]£120 delivered in the UK[/s] SOLD, this is a handmade pedal and is pretty hard come by over this side of the pond, getting it shipped over was a very costly business but I realise I can't sell it for what I've paid so my loss is your gain! More info on the pedal can be found here: http://www.smallsoun...me-fuzzmachine/ One practical point worth noting is that it only works with a 9V adapter - no batteries!
4. Really into Dub Trio just now, particularly the album 'Another Sound is Dying'
5. Well, back from practice and it was interesting! First song we played and the TAFM absolutely killed! It was awesome, I was concerned about the style of distortion for the songs but when we all played together it just sat in the mix really well, the bass really cut through. BUT after playing through a couple of other songs it really stuck out like a sore thumb, the lines that pedal low notes were what I was really worried about and it really didn't sit well for me, the other guys in the band agreed. The guitarist said that hearing the first song we played he didn't know what I was worried about (I had already expressed my concerns about the pedal) but went on to say he really wasn't feeling it for the other songs. I was really hoping I would be blown away tonight and I'd be keeping the pedal but unfortunately my money is way too tight to keep a pedal for one song (even if it was absolutely perfect for it!), I think I'm going to have to sell this on to get funds for something I can use more often...
6.
Hey plunkbouquet,
My Sunday name! haha, cheers for the welcomes.
7. Yeah, to be honest the TAFM was an impulse buy, I'm really after a distortion rather than a fuzz right now. The TAFM is the best fuzz I've ever used though, I've been running it with the clean quite high as it seems a little overdriven but it's a waste of it's talents and not really what it's meant for.
8. I take it the jazz is a popular choice around these parts? Haha, I kinda regret not getting a P to be honest, not that they are particularly individual
9. I've just picked up a Team Awesome Fuzz Machine from a guy over on talkbass but I'm not sure fuzz is going to work well for the songs I play, HOWEVER, it is an awesome fuzz pedal and I'm giving it a proper whirl at practice tomorrow night and was wondering if anyone has any favourite settings I could try out? Might be getting punted to get money for an Aguilar Agro if it doesn't work out as that was my initial choice...
10. Hey! I recently joined talkbass and came across this site, looking forward to talking to people a bit closer to home, I was looking for advice on distortion pedals and ended up buying a fuzz pedal from someone there that cost me a fortune in delivery and import tax so I'm hoping if I'm going to have GAS so much, I'd rather spend my hard earned cash here I've got a band together I'm really excited about after not playing bass for a good while, we are a three piece instrumental (at the moment) rock/sludge/stoner band (I'm not fond of these terms and am not sure if we really do fit them but closest I can get to describe!) We are currently writing some material and hoping to really get going later in the Summer. I had an Ibanez SR300DX lying around but unfortunately after some effort to remove the paint job it's currently in bits (I will get round to finishing it sometime!) so for this band I picked up a Korean Squier Jazz bass from a local guitar shop second hand. The bass is fantastic, the neck is really nice, a bit wider than other jazzes I have played but I like that, the build quality is amazing, I took the pickguard off and the neck pickup is properly routed and there is a brass plate in the electronics cavity! I've restrung it BEAD to suit the music we are playing and stuck on a Gotoh 201 bridge to help with that. Planning to upgrade the pickups as soon as I can, either DiMarzio Model Js or EMGs, keep changing my mind... I have no amp of my own just yet but using an Ampeg that is in the rehearsal space we hire and there are places around town to rent amps for any gigs which will have to do until money is a bit better. Currently trying to find a distortion pedal I like, first one to really get me excited was the Aguilar Agro but ended up going down a fuzz rabbit hole looking at Fuzzrocious pedals and Rusty Boxes, ended up buying a Team Awesome Fuzz Machine off of talkbass but although it is an awesome fuzz I'm not sure it's going to work out with my band, trying it out at practice tomorrow but reckon I'll probably be punting it after that and hunting down an Agro. Anyway, I'm going on a bit...
