i have been waiting 2 months for my local music store to get in a couple of cabs i want to try out.they know that i would buy one of them as long as it was not overpriced so dont know what their problem is.they have stores all over the country so could easily ship one down.perhaps because i have spent over £1500 in there over the last 18 months they think i have no more cash to give them!so in this part of the world some things you just cant try PS;Not naming names but its 3 letters!
If you want to save some cash to could try a more permanent repair - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?s=&sho...st&p=224654 Synaesthesia reckoned lens cleaning tissue soaked in PVA works as well. Won't hurt to try...
cheers could try that, although the tape isnt doing a bad job!

i have found an old 1x15 cabinet with speaker which needs replacing.it still sounds very good but the speaker cone has a rip about an inch long and currently has some tape over it!The cab looks hand made and is very heavy for its compact size. What are the best speakers to buy for depth and volume and possibly weight issues.i know a lot of 15"s sound muddy and want to avoid those. Also the best place to get them.

If you cant get what youre after with the trace then the mag range wont give you anything better imo.obviously the build quality on abm cabs is better, and the 4x10 is 600w compared to 400w for the mag.an abm rig would be ideal for the music you play imo or can you not have an extension cab with your trace?if so how about a te 1x15 c to go with it.those two options sound the best to me.
What difference is the in the sound of a Hartke 3500 to the sound of an Ashdown ABM 500? Which would suite my Ashdown Mag 210T and 115 the best? Would eith amp be a great improvement over my Mag 300 Head ? I play a precision bass in a band playing indie style, pop and soft rock ballads Thanks again
ive never used any hartke gear myself but have heard a few.If you want to keep your mag cabs then either keep your mag head or get the hartke. The abm is completely different to the mag(hence the price difference)and it will not do it justice using it with mag cabs imo. Also those cabs might fart a bit putting 575w into them, but that is only a guess!
That's interesting, would they work well with my existing mag 210t and mag115 or should I also consider upgrading the cab to a better one if I am able to get an ABM Evo 2 or 3.
personally i would get abm cabs to go with the head.If you were thinking of the 500w evo11 or 111 model then a abm 2x10 and 1x15 or 2x2x10's would work well as they are 300w 8ohm cabs,or a 4x10 abm cab is also ideal and would give you enough volume.thats what i use and is loud enough for 90% of the gigs i do.if in a big club i usually use a 1x15 as well.there are some abm cabs for sale on here at the moment at bargain prices!
The wet burlap sack probably had an Ashdown badge Id happily give my reviews of all the ashdown gear ive tried and owned vs. all the markbass gear ive tried and owned. The Ashdown stuff would take up much more room as it seems to blow up much easier, so ive got through more of it, so it would take up more space. Add your own review to the following. ABM EVO 300W 115 Combo - BANG ABM EVOII 500W 210 Combo - BANG MAG C115 300 - BANG AL MK500 - BANG They all blew up. The cabs lasted ok. Until I sold them. My PoS Superfly seems to be the exeption to the Ashdown Amp rule as i cant seem to blow the f***er up even though they have issues with board connections at all stages. Could you quantify your own opinions in a similar way? I used to like TE stuff, then I liked Ashdown stuff until it blew up too much to bother, then I realised other stuff sounded better.
youve had some bad luck!i have not had any trouble with mine.
Touche, I would like to hear a Markbass that doesn't sound like someone shouting through a wet burlap sack.

Aye mine was bombproof, and about the size and weight of a bomb shelter too
i was thinking of changing it but think i will put up with the weight issue

Think i will stick with my abm 4x10 cab,can not fault that for build quality

i love the sound of my abm 4x10 but as you say it is a bit heavy for one person to carry.the handles are not exactly very kind on your hands either and i find when someone is helping you carry it ,the cab is not very well balanced.so after humping it around for the last year i am also thinking of going lightweight, but to what?I need a deep sound from a cab (or two) which is light and compact and needs to be loud without affecting the sound quality.good luck in finding a new cab, any reccomendations would be most helpful
