The motor industry led Germany and France out of recession because Germans buy German cars and Frenchmen buy French cars yet we've got factories turning out perfectly good Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, Vauxhalls and Jaguars that no one is buying. To say it's all a lost cause and not bother to take an interest is a self fulfilling prophecy. There is a significant trickle of offshored manufacturing coming back to the UK and that will probably increase as wage inflation happens in China and eastern Europe. There is no law against being patriotic although European law prohibits taxpayer subsidies giving a competitive advantage to industry.[/quote] totally agree.well said!

older abm gear was uk made,i have an 06 abm evo11 head which is uk made.i had a 07 abm 4x10 cab which was made in the prc,so inbetween then is when they shipped production to the prc.the mag range was shipped a bit earlier i believe.what ashdown call their classic range was all uk made but now some of it is made in the usa and shipped back here.think some of their new all valve heads are made here,all a bit confusing really!still ive used ashdown for 3 years without a problem,whether uk made or in the prc .

if you like the ashdown sound and within your budget ,you could get their klysron 1x15 combo.the neo speakers they use are much brighter and clearer imo than the abm range.

you will get plenty of lows from an abm 4x10,i did,

got from specs today off chris at ashdown for the 2x12 cab,it is 200w 4 ohm cab weighing 30kg. H 708 mm W474 D335.it is loaded with celestion drivers.He did say the limited edition LB 30 Would be over £500.

KISS and all that.[/quote] ive got an abm 4x10 cab for sale if you are interested.its the next step up from ashdowns mag range.lots of top bands use them.its 600w 8 ohm cab in very good condition apart from a mark on each side of the cab.you can find it on the for sale section here,unfortunately no pictures as yet.its a bargain!

if you can see the serial number the last 4 digits should tell you when it was made,eg 1001 would be october 2001.

no idea on what they are worth,but the combo is probably a uk made one from ashdowns first few years of prouduction.if it is it might be worth more than a 4 year old made in prc one.not much help i know

if you use the eq you probably wont get the pre-amp knob past 9 o'clock.i dont use the eq and i can wind the pre-amp up to about 11 o'clock,just hit the e string hard and adjust so as the needle keeps just out of the red.you can always turn up the valve drive if you need more dirt!
