1. Your local guitar tech should be able to help you or contact http://www.headstockdistribution.com/ who distribute Ibanez in the UK.
2. I had a SKB case and it was just the job. Strong, metal on the corners and robust hinges. Had it for many years and it was as good as the day I bought it (if a little scuffed).
3. ..and as a taster for all you lucky swines who are going to see this gig. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr4vxp5WJpI
4. Whoa Awesome lineup. Have to say the blue MTD is especially cool.
5. Wow. A great collection of basses

ESP 6 String

That ESP looks great. How are you finding having to deal with 2 extra strings ?
7. Looks great. The wait will be worth it.
8. I've had my GT7 for 8 years or so. I wish it was a little lighter on the weight side as this bass weighs a stone (literally). Bought off eBay in the States for $800. It sounds great and I found it sounded better after I had it converted to fretless (?!). The GT7's are brilliant basses and the way of getting into 7 strings. When I had the opportunity to order my Sei 7, I asked for it to be made with the same string spacing as the Conklin.
9. I should think so. As long as the American embassy have a spare diplomat to help them
10. Point is, you can't just post videos and make allegations. The YouTube video is titled "SMV gets robbed by Spanish Border Police". Which part of this is correct? "SMV" "robbed" or Spanish Border police". SMV weren't directly involved as the problem was nothing to do with the passengers on the bus. "Robbed" quite an allegation in itself and "Spanish Border Police" don't exist. Putting the video up on YouTube was hasty as best and dangerous at worst. I hope there's a further video giving the full story as the Americans on TB have got themselves in quite a tizz On TB there are also allegations of Mr.Wooten censuring comments to the video. The plot thickens. Certainly livened up a Tuesday night though.
11. Definitely a buyers market out there. No point keeping cash in the bank with the interest rates so low, if you're gonna buy something big now's the time to do it.
12.
I really wouldn't feel like playing bass at 4.15am, and my partner wouldn't be too happy either.......
I'd have problems finding my way to the bathroom at that time of the morning let alone play bass
13. I've been to clinics by both Stu Hamm and TM Stevens and they were quite brilliant. Marco Mendoza was responsible for my switch from 4 fretted to 6 string fretless many moons ago. Monster player. I'm deeply jealous of all those who get to see them.
14. Conklin use the 18mm bridge spacing with 9mm at the nut.
15. Denmark St used to be fun. I remember going from one side of the street to the pther trying to get the best deal. Pretty sure that (apart from Rose Morris and Andy's) they're owned by one company.
16. Great to read that you like your Wishbass so much. Apart from dodgy finish and a truss rod being an optional extra, those who have Wishbasses genuinely like them. There's a wee club over on TB to prove it.
17. Cost really shouldn't come into it. If you like your sound and you like your bass, that's all that matters.
18.
Contrastingly, I've always had very good service in Strung Out, whereas Jimmy Egypt (supposedly guitar repairman to the stars) was totally unhelpful and overpriced. Odd isn't it?
Don't even get me started about him. Long story, but there is NO WAY I mean absolutely NO WAY that I'm setting foot in CC Music again. Mr Cannell (Jimmy Egypt) is, in my opinion. an arrogant prat who charges way too much for work.
19. How about sending this bass down to Sei HQ and asking them to do a commision sale. No doubt you'd get top dollar there.
20. Looks great. Can't go wrong with the older Precision design.
21. I need a lie down after reading the beginning of this thread. I can say that a 14lb feels darn heavy
22. I'd put an ACG pre in mine as well. There's more knobs but at least you don't have to constantly flip your bass back and forth to adjust it
23. Sei's are tremendous instruments and I'm very proud to own one. My avatar is a photo of me in Sei HQ with my 7. The wife and I went down to see the bass after the woodworking had been done and she took this photo. A little while ago, Jen found that she could alter photos in her phone. A bit of button pushing later and voila! a new avatar.
24. I was lucky enough to know the guys at The Bass Centre in Wapping (now defunct). They were nothing but welcoming and when I had to buy something, it's the place I took my cash too. In Glasgow though, had bad experiences with a couple of shops, which I just don't go to anymore. My wife was going shopping and offered to go in there and get a truss rod wrench for a guitar I had. She took the neck into Strung Out Guitars so they could give her the right size. The two women (who it turns out own the shop, were nothing but patronising and nasty saying that they couldn't possibly sell such a thing, no-one who wasn't trained should do the job anyway and that whole guitar should be brought in for a full setup. Apparently one of them used to work in Andy's in Denmark St. Say no more.
25. Thanks for all the kind words about the bass and the review. I never really thought about the back of this bass to be honest. My Sei 7 has full facings back and front, but that has maple on both sides as well. With the ACG, the ash body and maple go well together and gives a great contrast between the 2 sides.
