1.
I hate to say I told you so... ...however...
You sure did sista :-)
2. Nice to have so many neighbours, I'm close to J48 of M4 so quite a few of us locally.
3. Since getting my P, I am not loving my jazz any more. I pick up the P as my automatic choice, it feels like "my bass", love the flats on it, adore its solid feel and just dont think I will want to play anything else now. I'm going to put flats on the jazz to see if I find them better (really dont like the current strings, no idea what they are), but unless a miracle happens I will move it on. I am a total convert .....
4. Hello and croeso !
5. That has so much character ... beautiful.
6. Not sure how I ended up posting 3 times - .
7.
And I am very curious about that film too!
8. Oh God .....
9.
Thanks for all the comments guys! I'm on my second glass as we speak. LC
Interesting currencies LC ... JD on this thread, cabbages on your bass for sale ... Enjoy the fruits of your labour! Try and get him to get a bottle of Gentleman Jack for you!
10. Hi There are lots of places to visit that are close to Swansea - great beaches / coastline, restaurants, pubs/nightclubs so depending on what you want to do when you visit there are a few of us based in the area that can recommend different ideas. As for places to stay, if you let me know where you are playing I can give you an idea of some places you can look at for accommodation. Deb
11. Thanks - I particularly like the "ice pick" description. Know exactly what you mean . Deb
12. Nice one Debs. Well done!
13.
They are Delano PMVC 4 FE/M2, massive improvement over the stock pickups
What improvement have they given you?
14.
Just got my black Precision back from the guitar tech following a stereo rewire. 2 x USA Precisions - doesn't get much better than this.
Absolute black stealth ... Some great pics added here. I am grateful. I vowed to paint my kitchen today, the good weather and reading this thread is giving me every reason not to do it. I have bought the necessary evils ... tomorrow eh?
15. Good point he can't be that good. He can't even talk and play at the same time! Bet he doesn't sing and play bass !
16. A friend sent me a link to this clip earlier, I've just watched and enjoyed it. I've tried to post a link directly into this message but no luck sorry . http://www.wimp.com/musiclanguage/ It basically talks about music being taught in a rigid way of learning exercises / and rules before we get to play. A comparison is drawn to the way we learn to speak where we are talking for a few years before we learn a basic alphabet. It might be of interest to some of you. I always like to think about how we learn new things or how we can present information in a way that it can be accepted and retained. If there's a way to make it easier, then great! Deb .
17. Trade for a Cabbage ... I'll have it!
18.
Lost my job bump.
Gutted for you ... come on guys. Buy this handsome bass!
19.
I keep forgetting I don't have work Monday. Gonna use it to get these tracks sorted for an audition on Wednesday
Bank holidays are so nice ... I'm only in work on Tuesday next week, loads of bass time planned and 2 days walking near Hay on Wye. Hope the rain keeps away, dont relish camping in a deluge. Enjoy your 3 day weekend.
20. Thanks once again, really appreciate all your comments. I played last night, just me with no CD and slowed down a bit. No tension. Picked up some speed and still ok. I've been fine with playing the notes themselves it's all about the speed so it's good that this is something I can work on. Chewing gum is a great idea! Thanks! Can see what I need to do, you have all really helped. Cheers. Have a great Bank Holiday weekend xxxx
21. Hi and thank you. Def don't find your reply condescending in any way. It's really helpful. Will pm you. I think I'm concentrating on keeping the timing spot on, not rushing and probably just trying too hard. I'll look at your reply when I practice tonight. I don't find playing it difficult if I break it down into sections, the issue is more me getting very tense when I'm concentrating playing along with the track. As I'm writing this I'm realising lots of this is derived from me rushing. Next purchase will be a metronome to use during practice. Cheers! Deb
22. You tease! Let's see the rest of them now ... Great pic.
23. Hi Gary ... All sounding good! Comfortably Numb and Gentleman Jack ... a moment to savour. Treat yourself and get a bottle . Seriously, even the empty bottle is worth keeping, it's quite beautiful. I put bubble bath in mine! Back to the contents ... very smooth, mellow and for sipping. Too nice to mix with anything. Except Floyd. Shine On / High Hopes / Have A Cigar / add your favourite I didn't notice you making any funny faces ... perhaps if you'd have played Money you might have! The Gurning Cellist ... sounds like a great place for a pint!
