  1. Antwerp and Amsterdam due to logistics apparently. I booked for Antwerp ( it's actually easier for me because I live near the channel Tunnel) I re-downloaded my tickets on the day before the gig and drove to Antwerp. Found where I was staying and thought we would trot up to the venue, scope it out, then dinner. Got to the venue and nothing. Not even a sign saying cancelled. It had been cancelled 3 days before. Maybe I should have checked. Maybe and more importantly, the ticket sales/venue etc should have emailed me that it was off. After all they confirmed it by email. Still had a wonderful curry in the town centre and met some great people where we were staying. Boy George you can stick it mate
  2. my ampeg isn't exactly heavy but I'm looking forward to even less weight
  3. it arrives on Monday but I don't have a gig till dec 14th. would you believe it's my Christmas present from my mother in law (well she gave the money lol)
  4. So I pulled the trigger. I am about to leave my pub band and it only leaves me to do Police gigs which won't be very many but I just fancied this new Ashdown as a change from my Ampeg PF-500 Hopefully I'll love it
  5. rock it baby seriously, good luck fingers crossed
  6. +1 for mcmillan 12 step with the midi expander thing. I have mine linked to a Moog Minitaur
  7. 4 I can sing, harmonize and front. (I am very lucky with this and it has taken me years to be totally comfortable with my singing) Some of the best bands are like this. My guitar player in my Police tribute also fronts a Jam tribute. When we play together as a pub band it is so easy. No egos, sharing lead vocals and excellent harmonies. I'd love to play more but we live too far apart to make an easy pub band
  8. if I could slap, I would say it's very slappable
  9. Yes mate, it is your old one. I've just taken some more pictures for an interested party and it does play lovely.
  10. Putting my old Status up for grabs as I just don't get the time to play it Made in 1985 with a bubinga front and lacewood back. Good all round condition with a few dings and dents as to be expected. It has the original flight case but I'm currently cutting some new foam for it It has the GMT branded pickups (helps date it) Plays lovely, strung 40-100 with new status hotwires Back of the neck has been wire wooled to make it satin. Feels lovely and was like this when I bought it No trades please and I'm located in Deal, Kent. Could possibly meet, as I have done before. If you want more info or pics, get in touch
  11. I had a few trace amps back in the day but never really stuck with them. But I always wanted one of these
  12. I've only really got it to practice at home (when I say practice, I mean learn songs) I'm going to put a wooden top on it and use it as a table Pics to follow
  13. yep I knew that. I used to sell them back in the day
  14. Pics to follow but I saw an add on FB for one of these. Sent a message and a PM, was then sent a message by an old mate saying I could have his for the same money. It has always been kept in his studio and is almost immaculate. I'm surprised how big it is but it should get some home use. I normally plug my bass into my 1 watt blackstar combo but it's not really very good for bass. (the overdrive is nice tho) I think it was a bargain at £70
  15. top bass. love mine. glwts
  16. Doh, my bad
  17. www.karaoke-version.co.uk and we put them on an ipad with Stage Trax. You can add lyrics, chords and time code it, so that the lyrics light up when you have to sing. (you have to set it up but once done, it's great)
  18. No, we are a duo. I sing and play guitar, he does the keys along with the backing tracks. We use them so we can quickly change our set. www.karaoke-version.co.uk and we put them on an ipad with Stage Trax. 19. Playing with backing tracks is great fun. I'm doing it again with a very tech savvy keys player. It's 80s stuff. We buy the tracks and can edit out some keys parts, the guitar, anything we like really. It instils discipline to your playing. It's also very surprising for your own time keeping. It's amazing how easy it is to get out of time if there is an intro part without a click. For Instance, Don't Go by Yazoo. Starts after 4 count in clicks, then it's a keyboard part on its own. The keys player is classically trained and also teaches and it challenges him slightly. We drink lots of beer and the crowd dances all night. I'd love to turn it into a band one day.
  20. it's amazing what's out there these days. I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to this stuff. I haven't learned about DMX etc, so it's really helpful to ask other people and see what they come up with
  21. will do. I ordered one, which I'll try at a gig as soon as it comes and will let you all know.
  22. perfect. I've ordered one of the other ones you posted, to see what they're like. Thanks for your help folks
  23. thanks Maude but I already have them too. I'm trying to get small and square, to fit in existing cases, to make load up/ load in/ load out / unload, easier yep, I want my cake and eat it too!!!!!
  24. Not strictly bass related but, I'd like to update my lights. I already have LED, 4 on a bar things, (Equinox. Very good) but I would to go to just two single, flat LED cans. One for each side, probably velcroed to the PA cabs. Any pointers to what is good and very bright. Thanks Basschatters
