  1. Welcome...
  2. This'll be me pretending to be John..
  3. Ha....! I wish.. I can't even write nice words on a Birthday Card...!!
  4. I've never written a love song. It must be difficult without making it sound too sickly sweet. And there's some cracking songs on this thread that make it seem easy. Try this for sheer raw, emotional images that get into your head.

  6. At the risk of tipping you into the abyss, I am currently enjoying time with this little fella.... https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_te_20mn_bm_standard_series.htm?shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZnIiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6NCwibGFuZ3VhZ2UiOjJ9&reload=1 Can't praise this guitar enough, build quality and finish is superb. All for less than 80 squid. Insane.
  7. I bought one of these recently... https://www.thomann.de/intl/harley_benton_te_90qm_trans_red.htm Fantastic guitar for the money. I had to adjust the intonation, but it looks and plays really well. I thought the neck was very slim, but I don't have experience of other Tele style guitars. Thomann give you a 30 day money back guarantee so nothing lost if you don't like it.
  8. Living in France is a bit different to being in the UK. As mentioned above, Thomann use UPS here and I've never had a problem with them. I did return a faulty guitar a month or two ago and I had to use the French postal service. It got lost and Thomann made me wait a week or so in case it turned up (fair enough I thought) and then sent out a replacement. I've always found their customer service to be first class and buy quite a lot of gear from them. When I'm in the UK (rarely) I tend to use Andertons, who are equally good. If Andertons have the item you want, I'd have no hesitation in recommending them
  9. Just watched Mary Spender's video review and she's taken by it completely. Yes, I know that Fender gave her the unit, however I've always found her to be quite truthful when talking about gear. But at that price, not many of us will be lucky enough to be in the queue to buy one. And they may have arrived at the party too late to tempt folk away from their Helix etc.
  10. This guitar is in near mint condition. It's in Tobacco Brown Sunburst and comes complete with original sturdy gigbag, pilots guide and unused Yamaha earphones. I've gigged with it this year but like all my gear, I've look after it and it's in execptional condition. Here's the spec from Yamaha... https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/guitars_basses/silent_guitar/slg200_series/index.html And... https://www.yamahamusiclondon.com/SLG200S-Steel-String-Silent-Guitar/pidGSLG200STBS Briefly, it has a piezo pickup together with the Yamaha SRT modelling feature which replicates the sound of a top end acoustic guitar recorded by an equally high end micophone. These two can be blended to give an impressive acoustic sound. Plenty of YT videos to quench your thirst. It's a great guitar for playing at home (takes up hardly any room) and for gigging. As it's a solid body, it doesn't feedback. New price from Yamaha is £695 I'm not with the guitar at the moment so photos will be added as soon as I'm reunited with it...! I'm only selling to fund a PRS Hollowbody which also has a piezo fitted, so I can flit between electric and acoustic at the flick of a switch. It can be collected from me in Hampshire or I can meet you/deliver within a reasonable distance. I'm not willing to post, but it will be well packed if you want to arrange a courier. Thanks Graham
  11. Absolutely brilliant bit of kit...! I've been using this L1 system for over 10 years on countless gigs. Exceptional sound and as mentioned above really easy to set up and the lightest PA per buck you can get. GLWTS
  12. I would always get monitor levels set first, then FOH. You can always fine tune it once you have everything up and running. It's amazing how different things sound when FOH kicks in and the band will often ask for less in the monitors. But that was in my days of only doing sound, not playing at the same time. I do both now but we're generally a three piece with fairly simple gear and in smaller venues. Trying to play and be the sound guy at the same time is a very uneviable task in a full band situation. The stress levels just destroy the whole experience of enjoying the evening.
  13. Bought a book from Mick, everything went smoothly and it arrived pronto. Great guy to deal with…
  14. Salut. Je vis dans l'Herault depuis plusieurs années maintenant et j'adore ça...
  15. I used 6 of these at a small open mic night I was running a few years ago. Incredible value for money new and at this price an absolute steal. Great performance and they took a lot of abuse for years. GLWTS..
  16. Yes please. Boyhood hero and the first real band I saw as a kid.. PM sent
  17. Slightly off topic, but I bought a SH guitar from Andertons in March. It soon developed a fault and I returned it for repair. It went off to Yamaha and I have been kept up to date by the Andertons staff ever since. Not an ideal situation for either of us, but they really have been superb throughout. But Thomman have also been very helpful when needed. I live in France and the problem for me has been returning items to Andertons. Not their fault at all but since that political disaster a couple of years ago, reclaiming French VAT after the return is an absolute nightmare. Obviously, buying from Thomman is a safer bet for me.
