1. Yeah that effectrode was mine and one of the reasons I got rid was the powering being very specific. So that's good news as I'll get away with a DC5 rather than DC8
2. Cheers Dan Does the Cioks DC5 only power 5 pedals? Or can you add a daisy chain to the 300 ma outputs? The Diago power station is only 29mm deep! I wonder if that will work better
3. I've just taken the diago micro9 off the pedal board and tested it on its own with various single pedals and cables and the earth hum is still there. No noise at all straight into the amp. Looks like it's the culprit! I've had it from new for roughly 4-5 years and it's been fine powering between 8-12 pedals over time (currently 6 pedals) my patch cables are all fairly new OBBM van damme/hicon ones so I didn't think it was those. The box states up to 6,however it's 1000ma and I've always calculated the ma of my pedals and I've rarely used half so not sure if I've overloaded it! so any recommendations for an isolated fairly inexpensive replacement that will fit under a Pedaltrain metro 20? Preferably without having to drill. There is a fame one that looks like a copy of the Cioks DC8 but half the price! Anyone tried it? Cheers
4. That's very kind of you mace! However I've just this afternoon been testing my pedal board as it's started making a load of earth noise and it looks like I'm going to have to buy a new power supply which isn't going to be cheap id hoped it was a cable or the daisy chain leads. I'd certainly take you up on it otherwise as it's a cracking pedal .
5. Very tempted but not paid till the end of the month
6. Made when Warwicks were great!
7. That power supply looks interesting! And I'm in the market for a new one. How do you find it? I take it will fit under a Pedaltrain?
8. Its a shame you dont have the 1992 "masters of funk" issue!! That mag changed my life
9. A very interesting thread! I've developed a bit of a problem myself with my Diago micropower. I've been using it for a while, bit all of a sudden I'm getting really bad ground hum from my basses. The problem disappears when I plug straight into the amp. I've got two daisy chains connected and a diago 9-18v voltage doubler on one pedal. My cables are high quality ones made by OBBM so I don't think the problem is there. There are a few of the daisy chain power connectors loose underneath, does anyone know if that could cause these problems? Or is a new power supply the answer. Thanks everyone for any help
10. I had an unmodified one of these and it was a fantastic bass. This is a bargain and Ead is a fantastic guy to deal with
11. Brilliant! Thanks hamfist! I'd want to use it with a P bass,so sounds ideal I'd imagine its the predecessor to the Mini 66? I'll have to check the finances, but I bet this will go soon
12. Hmmm, does it do low gain grit like a blueberry or solid gold beta?
13.
I have had a couple of those 18V Diago tips fail on me in the past so I'm a bit weary of using them now. If buying a new isolated power supply, just get one with an 18V output rather than using an 18V Diago tip - like a True Tone CS7, or Cioks DC5 if you want to squeeze it under a Pedaltrain Nano/Metro. There's also a cheap one named the DC8 made by either Vitoos or Fame that is gaining some fans around here!
what happens when they fail Dan? do they just revert to 9v? Reason I'm asking is I'm currently using the diago to power my Cali76 cb
14. Wow that's lovely!!
15. They ship from new with an 18v supply! It should also come with an adapter for use with power supply ! I used a diago micropower with a diago 9-18v voltage doubler,it worked great
16. My first decent bass was one of these!! It had a lovely neck and a dimarzio P pickup, it was fantastic. I replaced it with an ibanez musician a great bass and in a bit tempted!
17. If you can find a digitech bass synth wah! The octave on it is very good, as well as envelopes and wacky synths!! Sometimes the EBS octabass has come up for slightly more, a fantastic octave
18. Some things come up that i really want and need to sell some thing to cover it! Up for sale is my transition model OC2 (MIT Black Label - ZA44740 - July 1989)I believe it is a Taiwan model, but an early transitional one which has a Japanese PCB). It's in absolutely immaculate condition with maybe a couple of tiny marks on its lovely brown sparkly finish it works perfectly and comes with the original box. To be clear it is in fantastic condition, and I'd like £80 plus delivery which will be about £5. If the pedal I want sells, I may withdraw this, but will consider part trades for a Cog T65 Cheers
19. I was going to change my mind! But one more time bump
