  1. I thought I'd try a small tour and festival board, mainly to make setup as quick and painless as possible if I wanted to go amp-less. It's built on a pedaltrain nano, with a Cioks DC7 supplying power, enabling me to run the Cali76 at 18V.
  2. I went down the route of buying a bike chain and a punch for my guitar pedal board. I can't remember the exact price, but it worked out cheaper than buying those pre-split packs.
  3. I was thinking there could be a good opportunity for that, but realised I don't actually know that many covers! 🤣
  4. I'm out! I honestly thought I could make it, as I haven't seen anything for a long time that caught my eye. Then Origin Effects brought out the BassRig and it was only a matter of time...
  5. I think the thing here, is that Pete travels up and down the country playing well attended gigs to appreciative audiences. He mentions he's in a Led Zep tribute band, so it makes sense that not all of the gigs will be in the same geographical area. I know a few bands from the Manchester area who play original music (I'll count my band as one of them) who play around the UK, simply for the reason that you can't keep doing the same stuff to the same crowd continuously. I think the days of the "dance band" playing in the same location week in, week out, are long gone. The audiences want some variety in what they hear nowadays and even if you have an alternative setlist, it's only going to be sustainable for a finite number of gigs.
  6. I have the HSp, you can get a huge range of sounds out of it and, as others have said, the preamp is immensely powerful.
  7. Exactly my thoughts. Obviously there had to be the "forced" drama to make it tv friendly, but it was great to see how happy it made them.
  8. I love being involved in any type of live performance, whether it be playing, acting, or running tech stuff. There's an immediacy to it which I find really addictive. Still, I know it's not for everyone and it's all good as long as everyone's enjoying what they choose to do.
  9. A 60th birthday party to a mainly ambivalent audience, although the birthday boy said we were his favourite band and paid well. A rare picture of me smiling, lifted from a video taken by the DJ.
  10. I've heard that sort of attitude can get you banned from here!
  11. We've got the support slot for this tour, so I thought I'd drop it in here.
  12. Andertons are due to be getting some stock at the end of the month, although I'm not sure if all of their pre-sales are spoken for.
  13. The Big Al was a great bass. It was a real shame that it didn't catch on more.
  14. I'm not really offended by jokes such as that, I just think they're a bit rubbish and "easy".
  15. You might mock him, but they're going for £1.55 now, so who's the real winner eh??
  16. I'm really interested in hearing what you think the relative strengths of each one are. My heart's telling me I want the SVT version, but I'm wondering if the fender version would be a better fit. We're a sort of folky, Americana type of band.
  17. Not exactly my gig, but I'm responsible for making sure it all works and doesn't sound terrible, so I'm claiming it! A (very) local show, raising money for The Christie, with electronic duo Une.
  18. Skoda Rapid saloon for me, which is slightly smaller than the Octavia, but still with a fairly large boot. I'm hankering after an Octavia Vrs estate for my next one, as I'm having a mid-life crisis, but am still just about sensible enough to consider load-carrying capacity!
  19. If I end up getting one (which is highly likely) I think it will end up on a small board with that configuration: tuner, compressor, bassrig
  20. Does my post only show that? To me it looks like there's some text with it.
  21. As @skankdelvar said earlier on the thread, it's not a band, it's one person looking to form a band.
  22. Maybe he wants to call the band "Flaccid Pen!s" and it wouldn't suit the image to have a woman in the band?
  23. I was actually surprised, as I thought it would be more expensive than it is (I don't work for them). It's still a fair chunk of cash though.
  24. These look interesting, they may challenge my gear abstinence resolution for 2022... https://origineffects.com/product/bassrig-super-vintage/ https://origineffects.com/product/bassrig-64-black-panel/
