The guitarist hasn't changed the key of the guitar part; but the key in concert pitch is different, because a guitar which is detuned a semitone, transposes a different amount than a guitar which is regularly tuned. Think of it like this: If a tenor sax player simply played something (with regular sax fingering) in (let's make it simple - the key of C) on their Bb instrument, it would be in (and sound in) Bb. But if they put down the tenor sax and picked up an Eb alto sax and played the same fingerings etc, it would then be in (and sound in) Eb. BUT if they were told, this music is in the concert pitch of C, they would use different fingerings on the Bb instrument so it sounded in C, and if they put down the tenor and picked up the alto, they would use different fingerings again to ensure it sounds in C. And if a guitarist was asked to play an Ab chord, they could play an E shape bar chord with the bar at the 4th fret to sound Ab. Or they could pick up a detuned guitar and play an open chord (A shape) to sound Ab too. Its blindingly obvious the answer to the original question is YES. If they think they haven't, then they are too stupid to play with other musicians in co-ordinated manner!!

I am not sure what the market is here - collectors? Personally for me, its irrelevant, I'd never spend that much on a bass. I know, classical musicians spend sometimes 5 figure sums on an instrument etc, and that some bass players are also wealthy and like buying things like this. I dare say, it might keep its value (and its value might not actually be £7495 anyway - I don't know if it would actually sell for that). I buy them to play them, I can feel the difference between a £200 bass and a £500 bass, and I (used to) play often enough to justify the £500 spend. But not much more really. I guess I could extrapolate though.

When you say "affect", does this still mean imports wait months in customs, get dropped, kicked, damaged, lost etc as usual, just that the cyber attack excuse is only being given for exports?

In my experience, most successful bands consist of 1 person who wants to be in charge, and n-1 people who don't want the hassle of running a band and want to leave everything to someone else.

My first instinct was to say 100% but you need to make allowance for eg personal events happening, so something near 100%. I've never fully understood this thing about being in multiple bands - is it like hedging your bets in case one of them goes bad? Why not just focus 100% of your effort on one band? Social commitments - depends on what this actually means....

I've always used a right angle jack on a Jazz, looped around the strap. I've stood on the lead a few times, and it saves it being bashed too. The only time I've used straight jacks is on something like a Fender Strat, where there is that recessed socket so it ideally needs a straight jack, otherwise the right angle one is sticking out and gets caught etc...

What number are you looking for? Because it seems, you have a number in mind, and want it reaffirmed by others.

I think its down to English words which have been adopted to describe various stages of gain: saturation grit overdrive distortion fuzz etc etc. One might perceive that saturation is a milder form of generic distortion; and that in the scale of things, the word "distortion" could also be used to specifically describe stronger, err, distortion. Its not just the amount of gain, its down to tone (the frequencies it affects more than others) too. And a lot more, I'm sure.

Canal and River trust byelaws require one when doing locks, otherwise the bow can contact the lock gate and wear/damage the infrastructure. It also makes sense to preserve the paintwork at the front of the boat.

I wonder if it was possibly someone setting the pay rate for the band at a pub. But don't worry, they can offer a lot of exposure though - instead of actual money.

I steer away from these kinds of YouTube videos, I prefer my bass/music to be more integrated with the rest of the band and, ummm, "groovy". For example, I have been getting into craddock recently: and arguably, it is visually appealing too. ETA Mods!!! PLEASE sort your swear filter out, to let thru one of the best all-female bands of all time! They are not craddock!
