1. I'm sure you've done the right thing, whilst also having given them a chance to do what they said they would. For me this is another reminder of how carefully one should quiz new potential band members about exactly what they want out of a band. It's all just as important as musical ability. Good luck with new ventures !
 2. WOuld love this, but my aching body would roll over and die at the thought of moving it. Good luck with the sale. SOmeone will get a cracking rig.
 3.
im gutted. guess i need a price drop on mine.
Sorry bud. Good luck at a slightly reduced price.
 4.
PM'd!
answered !
 5. Perfect condition, 4-5 month old Genz Streamliner 900, bought from new by myself. No marks, scratches etc at all. Working 100% perfectly. Includes original packaging & manual etc. Also includes genuine NOS JAN Philips 5751 (from Watford Valves) in V1, which does help tighten up the massive low end. Very low noise floor. Fantastic piece of engineering. Perfect example of this great amp. Huge grunt. Just not quite gelling with me in the end. £499 collected from the Southampton area or £510 couriered within mainland UK. Payment by cash, bank transfer or Paypal gift please. 6.
Lovely grain on that finish ! Glad you love it !

Another v. happy Lakland owner here !
7. What you need ( if you have the cash) is an EWS BMC (Bass Mids Control) pedal. Tiny, ultra low noise, and very high quality. Costs about £140 but real quality does not come cheap. Thoroughly musical pedal which will solve all your issues and life problems too ! and recommended by me !!
 8.
Theres a difference between "interpreting" a song in your own way and being too lazy to even learn the song properly in the first place. When I see a band in a pub and they have got some basic part of the song such as the chords or the bassline clearly wrong because they have just jammed it together and never bothered to actually listen to it, I feel insulted and ripped off
So true. THere are way too many lazy cover band musicians out there who simply can't be bothered. For them, it's got nothing to do with musicianship and interpreting a song differently.
Can't believe any punter ever notices when a bassline is the the same as the original - unless it's a feature of the song eg Money, Come together etc.
It's true that they won't be able to put their finger on why a song doesn't sound right, but they will frequently notice that a song simply doesn't sound good, and it will be because the "groove" that they expect from a certain song is not there, as the bassist/drummer are not providing the same rhythmic platform for the song that they are used to from the original.
 9. Great band and playing. I'm with Eddie in that I'm not a great fan of the tone, and would like a litlle less mud and a bit more mids. I think that band's arrangements are tight and sparse enough to have a significantly more "in-yer-face" bass tone without dominating too much. I would have enjoyed his playing even more then ! Of course it could have been largely the recording producing the mud and his real live tone may have sounded nothing like that.
 10. If I hadn't just satiated my GAS with a certain Status purchase, I'd be all over this. Lovely Jazz indeed !
 11. If you are considering changing the guitar, definately consider getting a Gordon Smith, as they have the widest nut widths and necks (allowing the most room for fat fingers (like mine !)) around. I struggle playing 6 strings with the usual standard Fender or Gibson nut widths. It's a whole different ball game with a 45mm nut width though. Feels the "same", just more room !
 12.
Nice basses! I have a seafoam green Status Shark, it's a great colour
If this were TB, we could start a seafoam green Status owners club.......... and then again, perhaps not.
 13. I had one for a very short time last year, from new. SOld it as quick as I could. Truly not a great bass amp. High noise floor. Hard to get a loud, clean tone (overdrives on all models far too easily). Heavy. Tone nothing special at all. Selling very cheap, but only worth those measly figures IMO.
 14.
I knackered the original preamp in my Energy, I put in a Bartolini TBT instead but it's lost a lot of the oomph. I reckon you'd be better off getting the old preamp fixed, or get a direct replacement from Status on the website under On-Line Shop > Active Circuits.
That's useful info RIch. Thanks.
 15. Thanks Rich ! Anyone else ? I'm surprised as I thought Status sold quite a few of these Energy basses. I'm particularly interested in whether anyone has tried any different pre-amps in them. THe pots on mine are rather crackly and it'll cost about £38 to order replacement ones from Status (I'd rather get the exact ones from them, as a guarantee that they will fit nicely). But, for not a whole lot more I could consider buying a whole new pre-amp.
 16. Still available. Can courier to Europe for approx £25 (so a total price off £235), but please contact for exact costs.
 17. Have recently picked up two new basses, the Status only yesterday, and am thrilled with both. I gigged the Lakland (bought from Amafi on here - many thanks !) last weekend, and it was superb. THe note clarity was exceptional, and there's so many tones in this thing ! I'd swear I was playing a precision when I put it on the neck pickup.Great J-bass-type and modern tones too. THe Status Energy I picked up yesterday. Just cruising on Gumtree yesterday morning I saw this advertised locally. Went straight round to see it. What a cracking bass !!! Quality is right up there with the Lakland, and (dare I say it) perhaps even more playable. Both pickups are slightly more towards the bridge, so it can't quite do the precision-type tones of the Lakland but still a beautiful bass. Note clarity is really special, just perfect for anything fingerstyle. Oddly, I really like the seafoam green too. It's one of the slightly later Energy's (mid 90's I think) with the Status' own "Hyperactive" saopbar pickups, and a wooden neck, with two graphite rods inside. The active preamp is a bit unusual with a preset EQ curve and then the only tone control is a treble boost/cut. Surprisingly, it's actually quite effective. I'm not one for fiddling with the tone controls much on a bass anyway. Set it up to my liking and forget it, is my general motto. For me, through my Streamliner/GK neo 212, it works a treat. I'm not even going to tsay what I bought it for, as it was stupid cheap for the quality. Original Status-branded fitted Hiscox hardcase too ! I have googled these with not a huge amount of success. Has anyone any experience of the Energy basses ?
 18.
Wow that is seriously dinky isn't it? What a neat idea - and like you say just enough to perch a thumb, nothing more needed. Is that screwed through an existing scratchplate screw hole, or did you have to make a new hole for it? Geoff
Made a new hole. Simples !
