I have a nice Tokai Hardpuncher that might also fit the bill
Stop teasing me! I still love that Tokai, hope your getting on well with it Is that your T-40?
Ah, but then would come the cost of turning it into a bass! Next year I'll get one I expect, and put SD Quarter Pound P pup wired straight to the output jack and a modulus neck on it (I would use a Status one, but the Modulus headstock is more in keeping with a Mock body)...
Fair play Personally i would go MM humbucker on that mofo. Heres a bass on ebay right now, a Gibson Custom Shop Q-80, used to have a white one but i traded it out for something stupid.

Thats black Peavey t-40 is really MINT. First T-40 i ever liked the look of. Think i have seen a very similar vox as well.
There is a mahogany Mockingbird body at Warmoth that is seriously tempting me at the moment!
Go for it! Its bloody cheap! Its been there for ages. They will do your routing for free as well!

Hey guys. I have been filling in as the bassist for this band for the past month or so, They are great guys, Decent music and are reasonably busy on the national gigging circuit. They really need a permanent bass player, I love playing with them, if i werent involved in another project i would stay on, but i havent got much of a choice in the matter. All the songs have been recorded in one form or another by myself and the guys, so it would be easy to get into the groove of things. I will be doing the next couple of gigs so no need to rush learning them. So if anyone is interested in auditioning for them then please let me know. Heres a live recording of us playing at the fleece last week complete with witty banter about me not getting paid for doing this. http://www.geocities.com/theadvocategenerals/08live.mp3 So if you like your grungy groovey heavy stuff then PM me and i'll get you in touch.

This is a thread for 80's Looking basses. This could mean many things, Basses that were made in the 80's and LOOK 80's for example white pup covers are a pretty 80's thing, Bright loud colours are also pretty 80's as is pointy things, However not all 80's looking basses were made in the 80's So show me what you got guys! Heres mine. BC Rich USA Ironbird bass. early 90's model bought NOS. I used to own a white version of this Kramer Ally necked vanguard.
That's one lovely bass there. I never gave BC Rich the time of day until I spied your first eagle... wouldn't mind another mock or eagle one day myself. Heh, I see you're playing the Lark in the Park there - hope the soundguy was kinder to you than he was to TDR the last time we played there!
The sound guy was great! Really nice bloke, its just the owners seriously have an attitude problem! Telling us to move our stuff, knocking the guitarists guitar over and not apologising. Having a go at anyone who touches anything! I really hate that place because of the owner. However apart from all of that, it was a really good night! Heres one from the other nights fleece gig.
"Which shop was that mate? Cranes? GM? Gamlins?" can't recall the name now, but it was a tiny shop. size of a small room, barely enough space to shuffle round. the gentleman was an older, greying man. it was off the main streets. i'll ask my guitarist if he can remember the name
Sounds like GM to me. I hate them in there, The three times i have been they had been very rude. There was one guy in there who seemed to have it in for English people. And when i asked for a guitar chord book he gave me a harmonica book, When i pointed this out he swore and got the correct book.
