OK, I'm pretty curious about what you didn't get one with. Only niggle I have is the lack of top horn means it hangs in such a way my left arm is way out to get to the low end, but everything else is totally happy. Especially the varitone switch, gonna make one for another bass at some point.
I had a fix for my ironbird bolt on bass which has a worse center of gravity. Put the strap pin on the lower Outer neck bolt. It makes the balance far better when standing up.
Yea, I stayed up til 2am to bid. Got really scary in the last minute when it suddenly went $400 above my intended max bid. Bit the bullet though and am glad I did. Your welcome to try it at some point Rob yea. Sold the Sansamp RBI about a fortnight after I got it from you I'm afraid. Couldn't get on with it at all.
Pity, i was thinking about investing in one. Theres a Trace quad valve on ebay right now but i dont have the money for it . Anyway i am waiting till steve sorts out my new bitch ass stack
Just bought my dream bass on Ebay US. Went a little higher than I expected and hoped but am still really chuffed. Can't wait for it to arrive, will post pics when it does. Most expensive musical thing I've ever bought by quite a long way. My whole extended family clubbed together for my 21st birthday. It's an all original 1979 Music Man Sabre in chocolate brown. Ebay item: 120189670449 Lush!
Ahh congrats man, I have allways wanted to try one. Can i come yours and try it Btw, Have you still got the Sansamp RBI? Or has that gone for more high powered stuff? Rob.
They have a pretty funny combo of people in Rikkaxxe. Eugene is sitting there waiting for an excuse to play basses, at one point every bass had a sign on it saying ask for a demo. I brought my wishbass in for him to try and he sat playing it till other guy (Rich?) wandered over and cleared his throat in no uncertain terms. Selena is also in a league of her own too, I can't not smile every time I see her. Getting on with Steve in Electric Lady Land seems to involve agreeing everything is sh!t, and occasionally prompting him with something else for him to tell you is sh!t until eventually he lets you into his magic room with the actually nice instruments in. Edit: rant spelling
Yeha rich is an ass. Hes totally up in himself and claims he runs the business as a hobby as he made his money a long time ago. He talks alot of bull, Plus when i went in their store room once a few years ago, there were alot of Fender and Squire decal' necks lying around ready to be put on certain bodies. I was ushered out of that room quite fast. Its Serena not selina. I used to know the girl in school and she was one of the most pretencious/compulsive liars i have ever known, She is one of the "I am unique" ilk and insults practically everyones music taste. She just seems to glower over everyone and has no idea about instruments, How to play or how to sell. I have known steve in electric ladyland for a long time, He certainly has his ways, but he ultimately knows his stuff. His 50's P basses are fantastic to play, We watch TV upstairs occasionally after the shop shuts and hes the freindliest guy in the biz in Bristol. You just have to be on his good side. I remember one time, One of his regulars wanted to buy a flying V of his once, Steve said not to because it was sh!t and the guy still insisted, So steve dropped it on the floor and snapped the neck, And said "Well now it really is Sh!t isen't it?" Great laugh seriously However the guy was a good friend of steves and seriously it was a terrible flying V. Steve puts his customers first whenever he can.
Had pretty poor service in sound Control. Came in with £300 and my bass to get my first propper amp. They searched my gig bag on the way in, in case I made a switch, and asked why I had my bass, I told them. No-one ooffered to show me any amps. So I missioned to another shop, Drum Bank (which has a guitar/bass oriented bit) and the guy enthused about ashdowns till I bought one. When my driving housemate came to pick it up, he described me and the shop dude said, 'Ah, the guy with that nice Peavey bass'. Thats what we need. Also, big up Eugene in Rikkaxxe, with his bounless enthusiasm for bass. He does look kind of dissapointed whenever I buy guitar strings (for seorting other peoples instruments).
Eugene is a fantastic bassist unfortunatly he is one of the worst salesman i have ever met. But i get on with him well and has allways time to talk even though i barely buy anything from rikkaxe! I can understand why sound control search. If you knew the amount of money that sound control lose every year in Bristol then you would understand why they do it. I never liked drum bank, Never liked the shop and the staff are pretencious dicks in my opinion. My fave though is electric ladyland, Steve and i are very good friends and allways lets me try his private stock out. Sure he has very big problems trying to keep the business afloat, But if we ever lose him then that would be the last in the line of proper "gigging" shops.
Hi all, i have been toying with the idea of selling my Warwick streamer LX 4 string. Problem is i don't really know what to realistically expect it to fetch?? I bought it in 1999/2000 it is flamed maple, bolt on neck with gold hardware. It's a genuine German build , even the tuning heads say WEST Germany on them. I paid £1200 new could anyone inform me how much it's likely to be worth now. many thanks. Al.
Not alot, I had one very similar, hell it could have been my old one. I would say £350-400 max. Warwick LX's have some of the worst resell values.

Hey guys. Having a discussion with thunder fingers, I decide i would like a burpy bass next. Burpy being a modern funk tone that cuts. So the usual suspects are up. An MM ,a G+L, Ken smith etc, However i am pretty down on how they all look, I was never a fan of any of these basses designs and i am quite vain when it comes to looks. Unlike my current basses this does not have to be pointy. I like weird and wonderful though. I was maybe thinking about going down the Warmoth route. But i am not 100% sold on the idea. What other basses have that burpy tone? (Price range is around 1000 Quid.) Cheers, Rob.
Well iuf it's graphite you want, you can't beat a Flea, and there's a few to choose from at the moment as well
Your a bit fast on the uptake there! Not a fan of Modulous Fleas though. Not unique enough for me I like things a bit special. However if a 70's P or J came up in the colours i like then maybe i can be swayed.
Warmoth do a good approximation: Warmoth Antigua (But personally I hate it...)
I have definatly considered Warmoth, But its no substitute for the real thing. I know someone who has two Antigua P's One Fretted and One Fretless, I'll have to take pics at somepoint.

http://www.rockinbobsguitars.com/dispenser...me=DSCN3863.jpg Celestion G12S-50 speaker. Holds its own on stage and in the studio! Great 80's Rock sound. You get some nice High gain out of this thing. Really good tone for such a small amp. Its pretty articulate and Reverb is FANTASTIC. Good clean sounds also. A nice portable amp. Welcome to try it out anytime. Pickup is from Bristol. The only reason why its this cheap is because it has to be picked up from my place. £50 = CHEAP.
