  1. I used to get asked for my autograph by the pub landlady so she could release the gig fee into my custody!
  2. You seen these. More expensive than a cheapy but better woods? https://www.northwestguitars.co.uk/guitar-bodies/
  3. So a no-name PJ with extensive and most likely marginal betterment regarding the pickup locations and also cosmetic shortcomings for £300? Nada.
  4. (I offer this without further comment) We’re getting rid. Doesn’t help load in. Doesn’t help load out. Applies minimal effort to something he’s “passionate” about. Never responds to urgent gig related messages. Can’t drive. Never, ever, ever buys his round. Ever. Never offers petrol money. Writes questionable lyrics about his man parts. Cannot remember the practise schedule (same place, same time, fortnightly). Zero ability to think for himself. Has less game than a three-legged badger with a heroin problem. Get the idea? We’re an established, gigging originals band around Bristol, Swindon and beyond. Influences: From Alice in Chains to Meshuggah, Pink Floyd to Kyuss, Metallica to RATM and anywhere in between. Will send over tracks to genuine enquiries. If you’re a relatively normal functioning human being who can sing and wants to be in a band, please drop me a message. Previous work/tracks required please. Profile
  5. Thanks, should mention ( if it is not obvious by the condition) it was a FJ re-issue and not a 1968 one!
  6. Thought I'd post this, I no longer have it, it went to a member in Belgium I think?
  7. Is there a village called George in the NE?
  8. I was watching an old Jackson Browne performance on YT and looked up the Bassist who had been chugging away, called Derek Frank, a LA session guy who I've never even heard of, but he's the go to Bassist for Shania Twain, Kelly Clarkson and Gwen Stefani. Totally under my radar but doing very well, just had a look at his gear collection. He must be well connected and well paid too! https://www.derekfrank.com/gear
  9. I've had both seperate MB heads and cabs and the combo equivalent, the CMD121P which I augment with a NYC121 if needed. If looking for a smooth sound MB seem to fit. The brand new range seems even lighter cabwise and the options seem to then be neo or non neo drivers and I have no experience of them I'm afraid.
  10. Not a scam but the seller had a 2 of these including a 5 string one, he still used the same phono. They are fairly rare and I guess for someone not discerning/streetwise they may appear to be a bargain. Maybe someone should buy it and then ask for a paid return as he has misled on the country of manufacture which is not Germany, although one could argue I'm being pedantic.... Just had a look at the Sellers other items for sale, he has a Glarry up for £200!!! He always takes the same photo of the full bass and just repeats it 5 times, maybe they don't have a rear side? Spooky...
  11. Why? Mycoprotein (88%), Rehydrated Free Range Egg White, Pea Fibre, Natural Caramelised Sugar, Firming Agents: Calcium Chloride, Calcium Acetate; Gluten Free Barley Malt Extract.
  12. Apologies, it's the mince that contains egg white but not the sausage.
  13. It's reasonable to assume that Greegs would not make a 'Vegan Sausage Roll' with animal fats in the pastry but hydrogenated veg fat. However I understand the sausage bit is Quorn which contains egg whites and is thus not Vegan anyway.
  14. OT I know but Crocodile tears, it's all part of Eddie's masterplan. We ain't got the squad to be successful on 3 fronts and the Carabao Cup game is only 3 from the final. Makes sense to concentrate on the CC and PL where we are the only team in the top 4 who don't have European games. I write this in the full knowledge that if Leicester beat us in the CC I'll look a richard but will write a similar response just slightly edited, HTL! Thought Sheff Weds were much more effective in front of goal and well deserved the win against a weakened NUFC who should however have had the nous to win comfortably.
  15. Hartlepool monkey Legend has it that during the Napoleonic Wars of the early 19th century, a shipwrecked monkey was hanged by the people of Hartlepool, believing him to be a French spy! To this day, people from Hartlepool are affectionately known as 'monkey hangers'. Smoggies Middlesborough has a large chemical manufacturing area which used/still does create smog( air pollution). Hence Smoggies
  16. I grew up near Newcastle in a place called Ponteland which when I was there, was not the place it has grown to be along with Darras Hall. I lived off a diet of watching the Toon (NUFC) and going to the Mayfair and City Hall Newcastle for gigs. Brilliant City Centre and after I moved away I got a season ticket for the football and returned every 2 weeks for much of the 90's. I saw everyone from The Crusaders, Bowie (Ziggy Tour) and the Grateful Dead at the City Hall and loads of others at the Mayfair from Geordie to John Miles Set. Just googling who else and it appears I missed the Velvet Underground 😗! Only picked up the Bass when after I moved away to study in Yorkshire
  17. If only we knew all this before we 'took back control' of our borders...?
  18. 1995 Peavey Milestone III Bass (Jazz pickups) in Black with Aged White Pickguard £100 I've sent this to my Luthier ( Philip D Marks) and here is his report: 'This is an early Peavey and unlike the amplifiers is a Bass Guitar. It had newish strings with red ball ends and blue top windings so I've swapped the G string so it does not match the others colourwise.(Thanks?) The nut is as it left the factory and I've resisted carving deep canyons in it as my chainsaw is in for repair and the action is fast and easy, as low as a gnats chuff. Both the two volume and tone knobs work as they should, I'd love to add a non standard knob but have run out. Sadly the headstock has the Peavey logo on it which I've left alone too, so no Sharpie action today! The tuners are smooth and progressive so left stock. It has 2 passive pickups already so I can't do my usual trick of making an active bass passive, just passive aggressive.....as you must know the jazzbass electrics have twin volumes that let you blend across the two pickups or turn either right off... if both are on full it gives a full funky Precision tone, but roll back the neck pickup a bit and the tone tightens to a jazz-rock Jaco Pastorius sound, understand????? The original scratchplate has faded to the colour of out of date plain yoghurt, not the only thing passed its sell-by date! Chat later, Philip.' Got this as a trade so priced cheap and cheerfully. In very good condition for a 27 year old bass and everything works as it should with no crackly pots. I’ve given it a clean and a set-up, put on some little-used round wounds and it plays well. The Truss rod still moves and of course it is easily adjusted by the wheel at the heel of the neck: the neck is importantly dint free too. For its age it is remarkably damage free with just one small dint at the top of the belly bout as photo’d ( closeup makes it look much worse than it is and I've now drop-filled it so much smaller), a slight scuff at the tip of the headstock on the underside, and a few odd dints that have not broken the paint and are hardly noticeable! Comes with the strap as shown in the photo. I’d normally put it in a gig bag and box it but gave all my old gig bags away at the last SW Bash (spent 10 minutes looking for them before I realised) but would wrap in bubbles and double box if required to send by courier. Mind at this price point someone close who could pick it up or meet halfway would be easier and cheaper? Any further enquiries, drop me a PM please.
  19. It is possible to loosen the screws and tilt the neck without totally removing it however.
