Using S.M.A.R.T Goals in Musical Practice
bagsieblue replied to Simon Lovelock's topic in General Discussion
Because it has no business component in it for me. I make no money from it, and do it as a hobby.
I'd prefer to think of it more as a framework for improving what you do and also to be able to record and measure progress. Good thread by the way - am looking forward to developing my learning/plan of work etc with input from this. -

Copy and paste below of lozbass's étude as it is a million times better than anything I could write. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 If I'm honest I am unlikely to ever get around to doing anything with this bass so offering it back into Basschat land. Bass is located in Chorley, Lancs. I work in Burnley if that helps anyone at all (certainly doesn't help me at the moment!!) £25.00 - collection much preferred as not really worth posting., got to be worth that for the parts alone.

Bass Collection SGC Nanyo SB301 In a rare Metallic Pink colour - try and find another one in this colour! Serial number sticker in the cavity dates the bass to 1988 This really is a lovely bass in a lovely (!) pink colour. Bass Collections have historically been under appreciated but there does appear to be more awareness of the quality of these basses. Very good overall condition, the odd ding / dent but nothing serious. WITHDRAWN..... cash preferred due to current circumstances. I'm in Chorley, Lancs - any inspection more than welcome.

Sold a pedal to Tom. Good comms, paid quickly. An easy, straightforward deal - would happily deal with again.

Did a P Bass trade plus cash deal with Dave. Such an easy, hassle free transaction and a nice guy as well. Recommended from me, and would happily deal with again. Thanks again Dave.

Is it just me that gets put off by........
I know what you mean. Whilst I appreciate the necessity to expose the various proof points, what goes though my mind are burred screw heads, wrongly torqued screws and stripped screw holes in the wood. Even when done carefully, the more that the same screw is unscrewed and rescrewed in an old instrument, the more worn and widened that the thread in the wood will become. CB
This. Almost as though some of the 'authenticity seal' is broken if that makes sense. Of course, I understand the reasons why people do it and people request for it. -
........seeing pictures of basses disassembled in For Sale adverts.

Unusual, but I'm liking this. Any ideas?

Yep, not usually my cup of tea but looks like a nice bass that Karl. -
Do older strings sound nicer than new ones?
bagsieblue replied to BetaFunk's topic in General Discussion
YES - I hate the clank and brightness of new strings. Sounds like a Rickenbacker which as we all know is a horrible, horrible sound.... . - may as well play one of those six sting guitar thingies...... -
Think my Farida needs to be in here......

Carnforth shop in "daft ask of the week" nomination.
bagsieblue replied to karlfer's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Maybe a bit of 'pricing architecture' on this Mr Karlfer...... I've done something similar on eBay with musical and non musical related items. For example I was shifting an amp that I though was worth £150 all day long. Have it on for a few weeks with the auction starting at £150 - not even a sniff. I put it on at £225 Buy It Now or best offer. The very same night someone offered £125 - I counter offered £150, it got accepted and I sold the amp. Feebay seling prices are absolutely all over the place and so hard to predict..... -
Bought an amp off Si. Straight forward deal and delivered to me as well. Absolute gent, likes a good chin wag about bass and music. Completely trustworthy and would have no hesitation dealing with again. Keep in touch Si... Thanks again
