1.
OK. Bagsie. I want you playing ALL of Sunshine of your Love straight off. Enjoy yourself. Others added today: Good King Wencaslas She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain Wedding March - Wagner Cheers Rich
Great - should there be some links for these?
A transcription I did a couple of years ago "Lets Hear It For The Boy" Original was played on Synth Bass, but still a nice read for Bass Guitar. http://www.pdf-archi...for-the-boy.pdf Garry
Superb Garry - anymore???
 2. Yes, it is a good thread. Can I nudge you to put some more links up please. It's good to be surprised by a piece of music and to try and sight read it first off without knowing what's coming.
 3.
The 'problem' with them is the name, people think it's cheap and nasty.
yep - that and the (shape of the) headstock, I've had a few of these and nearly had one many moons ago as my first proper bass. Ended up going for a MIM Fender Jazz Deluxe in the shop basically because it said Fender on the headstock - in the days before I knew about MIM, MIA, MIJ etc etc. The SGC Nanyo was the better bass but I was swayed by what my mates would have thought.....how things have changed!!!
 4. GONE GONE GONE As a wise man once said on this forum - “I need less basses”. The other basses I have put up have not sold as yet so before I have to resort to Ebay and Gumtree with them I am putting this up on here. I have my P Bass needs covered with this and a Yamaha Attitude Plus. If this doesn’t go then the Attitude Plus is next. This bass really is as good as new. Still had the D'Addario swing tag on the headstock, protective film still on the pickguard and Pups. Very. very little playing time on this. There may be a tiny mark or two on the bass but I've looked really hard and cannot find anything. Farida basses really are great value for money. The bass has a lovely satin finish that looks great with the natural swamp ash body. Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. This is a great quality P bass with a swamp ash body and a lovely playable jazz neck Features of the Farida FPB-18 Bass Guitar

P-bass style guitar
Solid swamp ash body
Maple Neck
Rosewood fingerboard
Chrome Hardware
Dot inlays
P-type pickups
Natural finish
I’m in Chorley, Lancs, any trial or inspection more than welcome as always. Stock picture here but will add pictures when I get home tonight. Price is £250

 6. Can any tame / friendly BC'er local to me in Lancs help me please. I'm looking for someone local to check over a bass I have put together if possible please. Though I would ask here first before I go to one of the local techies as I think it's a bit basic for a techie. EDIT - Thanks for those who replied and PM'ed, think I've got an option to get sorted, will come back to you guys if not,
 7. Thanks bump. Looking for a sale really, great bass this.
 8. SGC Nanyo Bass Collections and Farida Basses do it for me.
 9. Keep putting them up mate. I'm enjoying working through them and the anticipation and surprise of what you'll post next!. Keep fighting the good fight.....
 10.
really really like this bass! It may be perfect for a new project too, cash + camping gear perhaps (http://basschat.co.u...d-camping-gear/)?
yep - it's a really, really nice bass. Cash is good for me - camping gear not so good for me though!
 11.
I found that walking bass lines were a good thing to read, the rhythm is usually quite simple, but when there is a change it throws you 'cos you've gotten used to the quarter notes. The important thing is that the lines usually move around a lot, you often get a lot of none diatonic notes so you have to move around and it can get tricky when you get a lot of accidentals suddenly appear. The key's are sometimes awkward too.
yep - I find the rhythms harder than the notes, obviously especially so with trick rhythmns and heavily syncopated stuff.....

(reproduced without Stuart's permission at the time of writing, but I'm about to mail him)
These link through to the same file mate.
 13. I'm using them mate. Carry on putting them up please. Good work.
 14. Nice trade offer but need to release cash from the gear one way or another..... What's a boy to do??

 18.
The best way I can sum up this book is that the concept is excellent, but the presentation/teaching aspect leaves a bit to be desired.
+1 to that. You do need to sort of 'understand' the way he is trying to present the information. It's all good stuff but not as intuitive to understand first off as it could be. I found it better to use this book alone while I was in the right mode of thinking to work through it. When I come back to the book it takes me a while to flip my brain into the way the material is presented. Good Book though.
 19. Thanks for this - yes, please post more up.
 20. In a couple of my recent sales threads I mentioned my job insecurity, today I was given notice of redundancy so I have be sensible about the basses. Up for sale is my SGC Nanyo Bass Collection SB320. These basses are well regarded on here. I've had a number of Bass Collections and IMO the SB320's are the best of the bunch and they are all superb basses. The bass is extremely light, sounds great. It has gold hardware with the Gotoh tuners, P/J pickup configuration with SGC written on the pickups and SGC Nanyo Bass Collection on the battery cover Colour is a kind of blacky / browny translucent effect. Price is £249. Located in Chorley, Lancs - any trial or inspection welcome.
 21. Go on then I'll bite, lets see the pics
 22. Agreed Happy Jack.... We are in contact over it..
