1. As part of my new year clear out, I present this lovely fretless acoustic bass, purchasedfrom here a few months ago. The project I bought it for didn't work out, so it's hardly been used. Previous for sale threads are here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/218819-breedlove-atlas-acoustic-fretless-bass-traded http://basschat.co.uk/topic/221367-breedlove-atlas-acoustic-fretless-bass-sold This is a beatifully made and great sounding instrument, strung with Pyramid nylon tapewounds, also supplied with the D'Addario bronze strings. It has a LR Baggs preamp and tuner, and a unique removable sound hole cover on the side to enable you to hear yourself better. There are no visible markings on the fretboard (I assume the original strings were sensibly taken off immediately by Clarky!) or indeed the rest of the bass. If it weren't for a nasty ding in the hard case, this could pass off for new! The damage is pictured, it's structurally sound however as this is one of the most solid cases I have ever seen and it fits the bass like a glove. I'm after the same price I paid for it which is £525. This was £799 at Bass Direct reduced from £905 (http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Breedlove_Solo.html), so no low offers please. I have a thick bicycle box big enough to fit the hard case cocooned in bubble wrap, so shipping is not a problem. Pick up from Little Paxton near St Neots, however I will be working in London 28th Jan - 3rd Feb, so can meet anywhere central (ideally Kings Cross, London Bridge or Waterloo). 2. Not a very good price on the 2025X, Bass Direct were letting them go for £1800! http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/BB2025NAT.html
3. Most of those buttons are footswitchable too, including the CRUNCH button!
4. I reckon you should just buy my BB415 instead, and if you don't like 5 string basses, I can take one of the strings off for you.
5. MiniMax 400W: http://www.peavey.com/news/index.cfm/id/761/Peavey%26reg%3B%20R MiniMega 1000W: http://www.peavey.com/news/index.cfm/id/762/Peavey%20Electro.html Headliner 1000W: http://www.peavey.com/news/index.cfm/id/763/Peavey%26reg%3B%20Un.html Interesting psycho-acoustic enhancements on the Mini heads:
Peavey’s proprietary KOSMOS® bass enhancement provides increased bass impact, while the exclusive psychoacoustic low-end enhancement adds bass without overburdening speakers – a testament to Peavey’s technology-driven reliability.
Sounds a bit like the old Waves MaxxBass plugin - if so, it's a great way to get a deep sound out of a small rig. A bit of a cross between a Thumpinator and bass boost, not sure but it might synthesize harmonics above the fundamental as well. http://www.waves.com/plugins/maxxbass
6. If it's 21kg and costs £1600, then dafuq indeed. The AD200 is about 23kg and costs less!
7. A road worn Precision in fiesta red with rosewood neck you say? Better start saving for a Pino! http://www.fender.com/basses/precision-bass/pino-palladino-signature-precision-bass-rosewood-fingerboard-fiesta-red/
8. They do! Classic 50s: http://www.fender.com/series/classic/50s-precision-bass-maple-fingerboard-fiesta-red-gold-anodized-aluminum-pickguard/
9. I'd only bother getting the 1000 if you want to make a weapon for crowd control, the 500 is LOUD!
10. And these are even cheaper and probably similar in quality - comes with Wilkinson hardware which should be better than generic cheap stuff: http://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_jb_75_sb_vintage_serie.htm
11. Interesting! Lots of new NAMM stuff being unveiled, need to keep my eyes peeled!
12. Any idea of price? The old dropheads were ridiculously expensive compared to just buying the head and cab separately!
13. Only hearsay, but I understand that more recent MIMs are much better than previous years. I have played Classic 50s Precisions, Roadworn Precisions and Jazzes and they are all superb quality. Also the MIM signature models e.g. Roger Waters, Nate Mendel and Geddy Lee basses get a lot of love too.
14. No problem, glad to be of help. Bump!
15. No, it has no direct out. The CTM30 / Little Bastard does, but it taps off the main output transformer and still needs to be connected to a speaker load to prevent damage.
16. Or, if you haven't even bought the Jazz yet, just get the CV which has a mellower sound than the VM!
17. Search for true bypass loop/looper on ebay and ye shall find plenty!
18. Sold one just like it with non original hard case for the price not including postage and I was beating them off with a smelly stick. This won't hang around too long! And yes, I started to miss it after listening to some recordings of it! Keeping half an eye out for a blade pickup version ideally with rosewood though as a bit of change!
19. All sold, thanks! I should split basses up more often!
20. Here's a very good example of what a PJ sounds like when you have a well matched J pup:
21. Ok, open to parting this out now, bits are listed here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227740-parting-out-a-squier-jazz-neck-body-tuners-controls-bridge Neck sold, consider this closed.
22. I am selling a Squier Jazz here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/227170-squier-standard-jazz-in-sunburst-with-wizard-pickups/ But since I've have had interest expressed in various parts for it, I am listing them here! Neck - £45 posted bare, or £55 posted with tuners - SOLD Tuners - £15 posted Body - £45 posted bare, £50 with plate and controls, £55 with plate/controls/bridge Scratchplate - £5 posted Controls & plate - £5 posted Bridge - £5 posted
23. Bump! Feel free to PM if you're interested in the body or neck - but if I break it up I'm inclined to keep the pickups for a future project.

Delay?

I use a MXR Carbon Copy to make spaceship noises. If control of a self-oscillating delay with the side of your big toe whilst playing bass simultaneously is an art form, then I'm Michaelangelo! The only delay I've liked on bass for actual delay purposes was the EHX Memory Man with Hazarai, as you could apply a high pass filter to the repeats to prevent the mud. Same goes for reverb, there's not many pedals that do it other than the Iron Ether Nimbus.
