1. Bought an EMG pick-up from Alan. Well packaged, delivered promptly and great communication all the way. Buy and sell with confidence.
2. John Taylor is there on Sunday! YEAAAAHHH!
3. Lots of love for Harley Benton and Thomann here - briefly, I had a lovely HB "Beat Bass", which I purchased from Ebay for the princely sum of £50. It was ace. The snob in me triumphed however, and it got traded in for an actual Hofner, but with very little discernible difference in tone. Enjoy your new love -but don't neglect the Mrs!
4. Sold on Ebay
5. Aesthetically, it's rather beautiful.
6. Who wakes up in the morning and thinks, "I know, I'll cross my drawer full of discarded bass guitar bit with my Kids old Thunderbird 1 toy. I'll make sure the hybrid is completely unplayable for anything other than two thirds of a Status Quo tune, take a picture of it in a room which looks like a cross between a boudoir a shed and bang it on Gumtree for £40"? I'll tell you who... Kev from Sittingbourne.
7. Does he know something we don't? Oh yeah, the broken toggle switch doesn't "hinder the performance of the guitar" ...really?
8. Price drop bump
9. It's such a shame that this clashes with the London show, as I'd love to go to both...am I missing really fundamental as to why they're both the same weekend? Is it intentional?
10. SOLD ON EBAY Hi all, Serious Genz Benz GAS means something has to go. And this is the something. Up for grabs is my minty condition Ashbory fretless Bass. It's a great instrument -fun to pay and a very passable Double Bass substitute...and loads easier to cart around. It's been hung on the wall forever and needs to be played (and I need that Genz Benz extension cab...) so I'm letting it go for £140 incl postage. It's had very little use and still has the plastic on the control plate. It comes with it's own padded case and three spare strings. I'm based in Halesowen in the West Mids if you fancy a twang. A free mince pie awaits if you do. EDIT: I had a PM from Dr Harry who wanted to know a bit more about the Bass, including "Did anyone laugh when you used it...." Rather than cheekily bump the thread, with his permission, here's my reply: Nobody laughed when I used it, but my bandmates raised an eyebrow or two when I whipped out the talcum powder…. I gigged it a few times (maybe 6 or 7) in a Folky three piece which folded last September. It takes a little while to get used to the tight spacing, but it is surprisingly "forgiving" for a less than accurate Bassist like me. Output is slightly lower than a "normal" Bass, but not troublingly so. I haven't broken a string, the spares came with the Bass, which I bought from a guy on BassChat – quelle surprise. So far, no obvious signs of aging –brittleness etc. The replacement strings are two D's and a G, by the way. Tuning is stable, but I only ever used it for a couple of tunes during a set. It's great fun to play and sounds lovely, but for the Classic Rock bands I play in, a regular fretless fits better in the mix. I play in a Paul Rodgers tribute band, so I use the Squier a bit, but the Ashbory would sound too "uprighty" to fit in.
11. Sold a speaker lead to Mark - he paid with indecent haste with great comms all the way. A warm and wonderful human being.
12. Gone to the nice man from the post above.
13. Hi Basschat, I'm selling these on behalf of my school... We have 9 midi leads which are surplus to requirements - 5 x 1m and 4 x 3m. All are unused - in fact 4 of the 1m leads are still in their Stagg packaging. They're all male 5 pin-5 pin leads. £1.50 each incl postage.
14. Fender leads have gone....
15. ...and what a great, detailed ad too!

17. As I've moved over to a Multi-FX, I have no further need for these patch leads...SOLD SOLD [s]Two Fender CS leads in black and silver. Approx 23cm. £7.00 for the two and a quid for postage. Never used. Ever. Really. [/s]GONE [s]2.00 each and 50p per lead postage. If you want 'em all we can come to some arrangement (twirls imaginary moustache). All have been used but are pristine[/s].
18. B Three scratchplates up for grabs at a fiver a pop... Two are from a Mexi Fender jazz - one white, [s]one black[/s] Both three ply. Pretty good nick - the usual swirling but nothing that will scare the children.[s] Ignore the mark on the pic of the black one - it's a reflection or something. [/s]BLACK PLATE SOLD The last one is from an Indonesian Squier. As above really. It looks a bit beige in the pic, but its white and three ply. Postage will be about £1.50. Discounts available for bulk purchases, he added hopefully.
