  1. Another bump for a bit of bass history...that you can still use. This really hasn't got "a sound" unless you engage the slapswitch...then its 1985 all over again.
  2. No idea - but try changing the valve as a first step, or at least check it isn't loose after transit.
  3. One more Midget bump...
  4. Think of this as one of the best studio grade valve preamps ever made...with a handy 150 power amp built in for added convenience, for those coffee bar gigs where you really want to sound your best. And a free road case.
  5. 113 views....bump..
  6. Bump the Midget...might have local sale..but nothing agreed yet....
  7. Bit of bass nostalgia, but still sounds great. This is a rack-mount GP11 preamp, MkIV from the early-mid 80's. Has the XLR input and metal switches rather than later push buttons. This one came from John Henry's and has the old Bass Centre sticker on the back. Good condition with some chips/scratches to the case work - I think the master volume pot has been changed as it doesn't have clicks, and the two big knobs are modern replacements. The case is 2U but the spacing of the mounting holes means it fits into three standard spaces, unless the screws are moveable. Not sure why, as I think it was built as a rack unit rather than taken out of a combo etc. Comes in a 3U basic rack case (Flightcase Warehouse) - used but serviceable. Collection form Bristol/Bath area please, and I will add some more detailed photos if anyone is interested - always happy to answer questions. [attachment=187744:IMG_0967.JPG]
  8. Bump...........all a bit slow round here these days....
  9. Still thinking...and juggling finance!
  10. Had some local interest, but no offers yet....
  11. Many thanks..but I really need a sale (expensive double bass habit to support)
  12. Quick bump before re-listing in amps..
  13. Best options are expensive.. Rob Allen or Rick Turner Renaissance. There are cheaper versions of the Renaissance designs being made, I think by M. Kelly but haven't seen any for sale in Europe. Have a search on YouTube and see what you think of the sounds?
  14. Offers considered on a great little monster of a cab...all you original BF Compact owners should be thinking about this one...
  15. Bumptime - offers considered, but sale only please...
  16. Thanks....whilst I'd love to keep it...the money is needed elsewhere. Mods?
  17. I'm also a fussy old git 👴
  18. I've used the Midget for double bass/ EUB. It's not my favourite as it takes a bit of eq to stop it being too middly. All depends on amp, preamp, pickup and strings. I had similar experiences with Euphonic Audio stuff.
  19. They now have their own drivers made to spec...for Gen II they used the best off the shelf versions. This Gen II Midget is a bit less refined in its performance, with a slight mid-range emphasis. The handle design has also been changed, although with a cab this light it's been fine for me. Hope that helps.
  20. Not even a comedy offer?
  21. Would this be better placed in Effects or Amps For Sale?
  22. I should also mention - the power rating may seem low, but I've used modern micro amps rated much higher that were no louder..just with added hiss. Progress?
  23. Thank you ...they are very nice, and I could never find one years ago...
