1. Why are there so many amazing p basses for sale at the mo with my favourite maple fretboard???? Such temptation
2. I played my first gig with mine at the weekend in a normal sized pub doing the normal tunes through my jazz. Sounded great, proper old skool valve with plenty of bite. Didn't need my bdi or any other pedals to shape my sound. My concerns of hearing it being so small in stature wasnt a issue and I got quite a few compliments. Well worth the cash
3.
You are welcome to arrange a courier if you want it -- I will pack it up securely! Will.
Really need to spend a bit of time playing it and whilst a mega bargain i value my life and buying another bass will end it after i just spent just under a grand on a ornage terror rig which i manged to justify to the boss. If you were nearby i would have to try it tho - rude not to - my fav colour and fret combo

SOLD!
Not really, but the Corvette has no preamp, and even the "active" Corvette with a preamp only has bass / treble boost and not the three-band like the FNA. Additionally, the FNA was the one that has the massive humbucker on it, so it sounds quite different to a Corvette (I have an active Corvette too!), and obviously with the Jazzman you can get a warm round tone thanks to the neck pickup. You can also route the electronics on the FNA differently (pickups in series in different orders or in parallel), whereas the Corvette only offers a blend between the two pickups. They are the same shape though. Flat. But I would say they are rather different instruments given the different electronics and pickups. The FNA Jazzman sounds much beefier than the Corvette to my deaf ears. I think the FNA should fetch a higher price than the Corvette due to the extra versatility of the instrument (you can boost the middles!) and if you have one with a fancypants EQ (not standard), it has a smile-curve EQ for quick slapping tone that you get by pulling the volume knob (it is a preamp bypass switch ordinarily). So yes without me blabbing on further, I would argue that FNA is superior to the Corvette (which is subjective, depending on what you're after in a bass obviously) and is quite a different instrument.
Cheers 72 delux - mine has that pull slap tone thingy but i have beefed my slap tone (via the little screws in the back) for playing certain metal tunes rather than a nice slappy tone. They are awesome basses, my neck is lighting fast. Good luck with the sale and i wish i had the justification to buy another

SOLD!
You don't see many FNA Jazzman basses coming up for sale - nor many of them in the wild! I'm glad to know they are around. You see far more Corvettes.
I always call my FNA Jazzman a corvette due to the same body shape - am i being thick?

8. Aha - so mateys may be a USA standard P bass made during the 60th anniversary year, just not the hunky super duper one in the picture on my first post Cheers Camdenrob - cor would love to be in the worlds end or brewdog at the mo
9. Cheers Charic. This fella reckons his is a USA - so if it was, i would assume it looks like the one in the picture in my first post
10. Hi All http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fender-60th-anniversary-usa-precision-bass-with-hardcase-550-ono/1072155814 This doesnt look like a 60th anniversary to me. Jack input is in wrong place for starters. Owner said he just changed the scratchplate. Anyone see a 60th anniversary look like this? if it is its not a bad price. I thought the 60th looked like this
11. Ive just bought a new TB500 and sp212. Got a fairly decent deal with 25% off the cab so all in was £930 from pmt. I think its a great sounding rig and amazingly portable. Can proper shake the foundations. Will be gigging it next week
12. Always fancied one of those Hartke cabs. Ever tried it at a medium pub gig on its own?
13. Ooh. I live in Ely. How old is it bud?
14. Cheers guys. Will look into that. All super ta lozz. Singing in a metal band at the mo so my bass playing is restricted to my essex mates pub/function band which is still fairly regular around 2x a month. Still lugging the old peavey 4x10 and firebass about. You still in sunny Hemel?
15. Hi All Really interested in down sizing from a head and 4x10 to a smaller rig as im regularly playing in a friends cover band which play small pubs doing the usual crowd pleasing stuff. Very good but loud drummer and 2 x guitarists. Quite like the terror bass sound and the sp212 i played through the other day. Just wondering on audibility with a knee height rig in very close prox to you playing? You know what its like in some of these small pubs where you're basically standing on your amp and no monitors. I have no doubt the terror bass and the sp212 is loud enough, nearly blew the shop up playing it but just wondered on user experience in a live setting as explained. Cheers, ben
16. What are your other settings out of interest theyellowcar? I usually go with the recc setting of SVT and add more drive - around 2 o'clock
17. The bassplayer in my metal band has a TC RH750 and that is incredibly loud and has serious clarity. I have a regular tinkle during half time at band practices and the options are amazing. Im playing far less these days but dep for a mates band around 2-3x a month and im seriously thinking about getting the smaller RH450. Ive played the terror bass quite a few times and whilst i love the tone, it cant compete with the RH for versatility imo
18. I like it to add a little crunch to my peavey amp. Whilst the peavey is a brute and has served me well over the 15 odd years I've had it, it's not the most amazing tone so the bdi helps a little. I should stop being so tight and upgrade my rig
19. Thanks moncky. Sounds fair enough. I use the bdi21 to try and liven up my old peavey firebass head
20. Came across this in google. Ive always wonder if the bdi sounds better in the loop or in front of the amp. I usually use mine in the FX loop to save it being damaged on the floor, esp as mine can only be powered via the 9v battery clip adapter. Sounds pretty decent practicing in the fx loop but as usual the band drown me out a bit live
