Right, in a similar way to the meetup last May, I would suggest the following options: - [b]Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden[/b] if the weather is nice but not to be trusted (as we can quickly go downstairs and into a covered area if it rains) - also perfectly viable if the weather is really nice. Yes, we were there last time too, but it seems a good place, easy to reach by public transport, easy to find and reasonably comfortable. - [b]Hyde Park[/b], somewhere along the Serpentine Road, near Hyde Park Corner station, if the weather is good enough to have a picnic. My idea would be to find a spot in the vicinity of the cafe/tourist area/toilets on the East side of the Serpentine lake, the nearest to Hyde Park Corner station if you look at the map. I know that the second option is less easy to implement, both in terms of us actually finding one another to meet up in a precise place, and of the weather allowing us to sit outside for a few hours without fear of being rained on or swept away by the wind We would need to keep checking the weather forecast and updating this thread until the last moment. What do you guys think?

[/quote] So entirely seprate websites and different URLs, I gather? Then I see no problem with diluting the audience, TBH. IMO, it's good to have a higher number of moderators. It makes me feel safer, so to speak - at any given moment you can now see that at least four mods/admins are logged on (in the list at the bottom of the home page), so you know that if anything goes amiss (spam attack, trolls etc.) it will be noticed and acted upon very quickly. As for the choosing process, as a relative newbie I'm fine with that - I assume a good deal of thought has gone into picking long-standing, respected members of the community. However, I also see the point of those other long-standing, respected members who have not been chosen or even asked. But of course, you can't have 20,000 mods/admins and a few hundred ordinary members - a selection needs to be made somehow.

The above, but is it possible that the inside of the gigbag is acrylic fabric and not as smooth as it should be? In that case it would cause some wear, like a very fine sheet of sandpaper, when the bass moves inside the bag. Is the tarnishing localised, or equally evident all over?

I lost interest after Load. I recently found a "limited edition" copy of The Muff album (aka Death Magnetic) for a fiver and bought it, but I could only tolerate listening to it once. Shame, as Rob Trujillo is a good bassist - although IMO not a patch on the style and cool of Cliff and/or Jason.

I've emailed in my availability to help out with BC on social media - perhaps, if that became a job, I'd be able to justify the inordinate amount of time I end up spending on FB and Twitter

OK, I would say that the meetup seems viable, judging by the number of posters who expressed interest on here. So, would you guys really prefer to have curry for lunch somewhere, as opposed to meeting up for a drink or - weather permitting - a picnic? As for the place, suggestions welcome, presumably depending on which of the above options the majority prefers. Should be reasonably central so that as many of us as possible can reach it without having to spend hours travelling. Thanks for your help - and humour - so far!
