1. I love that book, very well written and the examples used make everything very clear ( although tab readers should be aware that it's all in treble and bass clef standard ntoation). As you say, not a lick/pattern book as such but it does give you all the knowledge to create countless licks of your own. Cheers, Alun
2.
Hi I have BB414 and when I play on A string i can hear the buzz how can I fix it? is there anyone form Cardiff who could check it?
Is it buzzing everywhere on the A string or just on certain notes? Cheers, Alun
3. How did I know who the seller was before I looked?
4. Yeah live it was fine but quite intrusive for teaching and unusable for recording. Cheers, Alun
5.
mini qtron was a joke anyways, how could it ever be called 'mini'
Ah, like the "Micro" Pog which is admittedly smaller than the original POG but hardly micro Cheers Alun
6. Do you know if its louder than another Hartke? The reason I ask is that the fan on my 3500 was always noisy, to the point where it couldn't be used for recording if there was anything miked up in the same room. Cheers, Alun
7. Well spotted, I might keep an eye on that. Not a make I'd heard of, but it does look veeeeery nice

9.
Paul Gray is a bass god in my opinion (said it before and will say it again).
He's my MU rep Always weird when I need to contact them and end up speaking to him Cheers, Alun
10. I've got a couple but the EBS is my current fave. I've also got an old Boss LMB 2( more of a limiter and OK, but I find you have to set it carfeully of it can "pump" a bit) and a Digitech Bass Squeeze that sounds fab but eats batteries ( you'll be lucky to get through 25 mins of constant use) and can be noisy with a 9v adaptor. Cheers, Alun
11. Out of interest, is it noticeable through the amp or just when playing unplugged?
12.
Was it something about Shukers?
13.
Does yours have fur around the hood?
14. I'd forgotten about DAD, great band I love those cabs. Cheers, Alun
15. That neck is quite something Not sure what But definitely something
16. To be honest, I do see humour in most things but have the "common sense" to realise that, in some cases, others may not. As the subject had only arisen through someone pointing out that they'd found it offensive, it seemed a little bit stupid to rub it in. Ultimately, we all have the ability to ignore things we don't like ( which generally I do), but you annoyed me with that post and felt the need to respond. Hopefully you won't encounter circumstances that you lead you to be "over sensitive".
17. Certainly sounds like the coating coming off, as the coating should prevent anything else gunking up the windings. And yes, it is basically goretex, WL Gore are the company that own Elixir. Cheers, Alun
18. Again, you need to appreciate that humour doesn't always come across in text. If you've ever experienced domestic violence then that really wasn't funny. Usually I just ignore posts that irritate me, but I can't not respond to that stupidity.

Zoom B2.1

To be honest, the patches aren't that hard to edit from the unit so I've never felt that I's like to be able to do it by USB anyway. My main reason for going for the 2.1u was the expression pedal which is really handy, but you could always get a seperate one for a B2 if you wanted. Cheers, Alun
20. Considering that he's had pretty much the same sound since the Miles days, I can't imagine the preamp making a huge difference to be honest. Think I'll join the EBS scavengers
21.
I believe it was one of the Jacksons (whichever one played bass)
It was Wilton Felder, although the bass playing Jackson may have played it live. Cheers, Alun
I'm in need of a new tuner and a DI box to run to our band's PA. I've got a vague memory that one or two folk on here have Zooms that they use for the tuner function, and the 2.1 also has a DI. The unit comes in at about the same price as a tuner pedal + DI and would give me access to those effects that I occasionally want (modulations and delays, wah, etc) but not enough to justify buying a deicated pedal. Just seems to good to be true. So is the tuner usable? What's the DI like (I'm not after studio quality)?
Haven't tried the DI yet, but the tuner is superb. Very stable and accurate. Cheers, Alun
