As long as you go for either the Classic IV Pro (getting harder to find) or the Vintage Pro (now renamed the 60's bass), IMHO either one will wipe the floor with a Jazz all day long!

I had one of those late 70's Hondo monstrosities, it was my first ever bass back in 1980. It does look like a Hondo 2 neck, but the thing that throws it out is the headstock. All the Hondo 2' Ps with the Fender style Headstock had a flat heel, it wasn't until Hondo changed the shape of their headstocks that they changed the shape of the heel to the more traditional curved shape.

I bought a Hercules stand off of Russ, a nice easy transaction posted Thursday arrived the day after.

I'd have had this if it was for sale two weeks ago! It looks more like a JV neck, though the machine heads aren't right and I don't see a hole for a rear strap button, my 83 JV had one! Did they discontinue that and change the Machine heads on the later JV's? I also had a 1985 SQ in 1987, it had the same machine heads as this, and truss rod access at the heel, but it also had a plugged tear drop on the front of the headstock and a skunk stripe.

I clearly stated the reasons why I don't like the song, so why would you think I'd have even entertained the idea of learning to play it?

I bought this Jim Deacon P bass off of ebay a few years ago as a doer upper it had no pickguard, pups or electrics, it did have one those bridges though. I hope it all gets sorted out.

Porcupne Tree continuing to tour with NO bass player
pst62 replied to leroydiamond's topic in General Discussion
They should have just given Colin Edwin a call. I can't imagine seeing them without him. On the subject of Glastonbury PT, are a band who to me just seem a little outside of the loop to play there, yet I do think they would go down a storm, especially with a set comprising of songs Stupid Dream through to Fear of a Blank Planet, and also convert a good few people who may have previously avoided them on account of their name. -

Not a problem, I hope it serves you well.

Epiphone Thunderbird Classic-IV Pro Tuner Replacement
pst62 replied to timmchale2009's topic in Repairs and Technical
My CP has the standard as the Epi one wasn't on the market back then, I have however recently sold a CP which has the Epi version on it, no difference in quality, and because it's designed to sit on the existing bridge studs, much less hassle to install. Bass Direct is the cheapest I've see them at £129, other places are wanting £150 or more. -
Epiphone Thunderbird Classic-IV Pro Tuner Replacement

Hi timmchale, It's the 3/8's mate, I've put Gotoh 707's on mine along with a Babicz FCH3 Bridge, it's not as clunky as the Hipshot. -
Yeah a nice Natural grain 76 Thunderbird with sidewinder pups.... If only!

Hi Richard, I'm in Somerset and have this Fender Rumble 100 2x10, it's covered in that fluffy stuff which is a bit tatty, but it all works fine. If you can arrange and pay for a courier to pick it up it's yours.

No, just their manufacturers designated model names, and never refer to them as "her" or "she" either.

I think this is has to be my all time favourite MDP product. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194368628626?hash=item2d4145e792:g:9SoAAOSwkV1hQ11X -
I've bought a few sets of their Fender alike WJBL200's over the years, all have been fine, also bought a set of their WJB750's, no problems there either. I did notice not long back that their official web site is all about Bridges and Pickups, not a hint of Machine heads or any other hardware.
