1. As a bassist who couldn't play bass, I think I had an audience of 100 - 120. As a world famous classical organist, my largest audience probably was 6 or so. Nah, 3 more likely.
 2. It was often written on these pages that the BDi21 manual that comes with the unit was wrong. Would the file called BDI21_P0294_M_EN.pdf downloaded from https://www.music-group.com/brand/c/Behringer/downloads?active=Downloads also be wrong, or would that be the correct version? How can one tell? Yes, I tried the search function. I know it was mentioned often, but I still couldn't find it. Thanks!
 3. Bass trombone with valves? Wattage? Brand? Congrats
 4. I see a bad new thread idea here: who now despises the music they loved when they were 16 years old. I reckon it would be a short thread.
 5.
I doubt it matters what answers you gave, the results are probably just random. They just want your clicks on their pages.
My guess as well.
 6.
For this reason, I find your survey greatly flawed, and wonder whether it can really be considered scientifically rigorous.
7. Thanks, guys!
Are you in the Rickenfakers facebook group?
I am now! Karl too had sent me there, and I'm trying to find out how fb groups work before asking my questions there.
Have a look at http://www.retrovibe...ts/pickups.html
Thanks, Skybone! That seems like incredible value. The Seymour Duncans are 150 quid a piece in Norway - slightly over budget I might add. :-)
I had the selector switch issue with my Rockinbetter 4003s tribute. Replaced it with Switchcraft. Also jack socket replaced with Switchcraft. Personally, I find the "s" version of tributes and the real thing much easier to play fingerstyle. The Rockinbetter has a much more functional bridge than the real thing though! The contoured top is so much more forgiving on the wrist, than the binding, sharp slab top. The real 4004C11 is even easier for fingerstyle .
Thanks again, Karl! So I'll start with the switch then. Are these standard, or must I measure my own to get the right dimensions? You also taught me something else. I had no idea S versions even existed in Rockinbetter guise. Yeah, that binding is quite unforgiving, innit. Of the 16 basses I've owned, this one is the worst in that respect. Then again, you just don't go on stage and play "Siberian Khatru" on a cricket bat whilst being short and fat and bald... . Wait!
 8. My bass was expensive. It cost me my marriage.
 9.
Lots to choose from but for me nothing beats the tones of the classic Precision, Jazz and Stingray. The ATK isn't far off the Stingray, so I would look out for used Squier Classic Vibe P and/or J basses.
There's my answer right there. This Dannybuoy boy is one helluva resourceful guy! Seriously: I've just sold 14 basses including Bongos and StingRays, and the ones the buyers were most flabbergasted with were the Classic Vibe Ps and Js as well as a Hohner B2B. I'll repeat the wise words from some others on BC: if you go for a Squier Vintage Modified, then do so after trying it out only. Some variation is reported to exist, and I have experienced it myself as well. The CV is reported to be risk free, and that's why I went for those when ordering from abroad. I'm happy I did. Awesome things.
 10. I got Guy Pratt - probably because after just three questions I got annoyed with the quiz and left it.
 11.
I'd buy it just for the little oscilloscope. :-)
Aye. People keep reporting they expected a gimmick, but received a great tool.
 12.
I still really fancy one of these, and a Minilogue. If I manage to sell my Gretsch I might treat myself.
Good plan! The ML's a steal, don'cha think? For me it's on hold now, as I need to have the money ready for a white Odyssey desktop - should they release those. That, and I'm hoping for a Maxilogue, which would fit my use better (4 or 5 octaves and 8 voices at the very least).
 13.
the reassurance i was expecting to find from this thread is sadly lacking
Hm. Some people who are not you like Mark. Some people who are not you dislike Mark. Some people who are not you like Mark's employees. Some people who are not you dislike Mark's employees. It's all in this thread - both the positive and the negative - so why not just try them? There is nothing lethal going on there. All you might experience is an opinionated owner or a disinterested employee, or you might go from there with a big happy grin on your face. Also: you have a mouth.
 14. It even has patch morphing:
 15. Korg USA published a picture on Instagram, and it contains two different desktop versions, so there probably are three. Yay! Saves me from sawing off the keyboard of mine. 16.
Rory!
You got no Taste! Just last week, I mentioned my love for Rory to a musically well-versed (or so I thought) guy in his late fifties, and got corrected: "You mean Noel? Or...?" Kids these days!
 17. Well... even more good things have come from this, you know! These days I often see young families with kids, and the parents are solely occupied with the game. Their kids then play freely on the town square and in the traffic - undisturbed by parents who'd normally spend their time beating them up!
 18. Hehehe. Great minds not only think alike, but also simultaneously.
 19. Also a modest, kind, unassuming and humoristic guy - - a through and through luvverly bloke. R.I.P.
 20. Somewhere - - within these pages, I thought - - a set of pickups was mentioned that was a lot cheaper than the Seymour Duncans, and which performed very well. Anyone able to tell which pickups these may have been? I trawled the thread without finding them myself. IMS they were 150 quid or Mercan bucks per set. The point here is my Rockinbetter wants two new pickups for its birthday, and as a proud dad, I wish to oblige. Though I seem to remember one the the original pickups in the Rockinbetter does not need being exchanged, and at any rate, I suppose the bridge pup placement on the Rockinbetter would ruin it for even an original Rickenbacker bridge pickup? If anyone has any advice, it's received with gratitude. On another note, the pickup switch doesn't work or one of the pickups doesn't. Any experience about this as to Rockinbetters? Would it often be a case of dismantling the switch and cleansing it, or would one normally exchange it? Or do experiences with Rockinbetters teach us that it's normally the pickup itself that is faulty? I can of course investigate everything, but a quick heads up might save me some time by starting with the most common source of error. Thanks for any info!
 21.
OMG the Gert Jonnys from the Dansbands link is Skank Delvar!! Do I win something?
Sadly not: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/110637-why-are-there-not-many-kickback-amps-around/page__view__findpost__p__1024117
 22. It's really no wonder that some have to practise playing their trumpet whilst driving their car on the way to a gig, after obviously not having had any time to practise at home!
 23. This is only one of tens of thousands of similar covers from the nordic "dansband" genre, and I'm deliberately avoiding posting a picture of the dansband band Gert Jonnys. 24.
I am not sure how much it would give me over the blofeld, but for use in the house it would be fun.
Ha! Good point. I'd guess that by large it will probably give nothing or very little over the Blofeld. That's why I personally am not even looking at it before I have bought my much missed Blofeld back. This looks like a simple synth with some nifty tricks up both its sleeves. The Blofeld on the other hand is EVIL.
