What are you listening to right now?
Frankie F'in' Miller .... That's who!!
If ever there was a right place to use that one, it's on this thread. Class! -
You almost always make me laugh or, as the kids say these days LOL. Which whiskey is protestant, Jamesons or Kilbeggin? And what about Glenmorangie? Ever tasted their Quinta Ruban? This may explain my proclivity for these beverages as I am of Scots-Irish descent and presbyterian (more or less).
Oh, sorry. I meant Jamesons. Forgot about the Kilbeggan. IMS, according to a web thing I read, Jamesons started out as a protestant whiskey, as the old man was a protestant himself. But it's made in a Roman Catholic area, and is most often called the Catholic whiskey. Bushmills' story is exactly the opposite Don't know Kilbeggan. Might give it a try. Glenmorangie is not a whiskey. It is however a fantastic whisky brand, where even their cheapish "Original" is a very, very good whisky. That and their very expensive stuff. Now to keep this On Topic: Anyone ever tasted Bassic or Bullet? How was it? best, bert

Welcome to the surface, JR, or as a user indeed. Friends with Jack, eh? You must be a saint. I'm sure you'll be much appreciated here. Now sit back, partake and enjoy! Oh, and teach me some. best, bert

Hey! That's protestant whiskey! (before someone corrects me: look at the history of both that and Bushmills) BTW, kudos to Bassic for the login name find. Would've expected that to have been taken long ago. Some people are able, aren't they? best, bert
Apart from the new bells and whistles, does the actual fuzz sound any different to the original?
That's really hard to say. The bells and whistles are so integrated in the sound that it's hard to imagine the dry sound without those instruments.

You should delete this post and put it in the For Sale section instead. (BTW, bought one just today. Excited!) best, bert

Folks, Got two Classic Vibes with s.nrs. starting with CGS08 and CGS12 The web seemed inconclusive as to whether one or two number positions count. Were they made in '08 and '12, Were they made in '10 and '11? Thanks! best, bert

Hey Bassic, Welcome! Yup, this site is huge and large and big. Also, it contains livestock that will happily hear you tell about your previous bass life and discuss with you how fantastic Bullets are (or not - Idunno) Many people (not me) here have had long sabbaticals, so you're not alone. Enjoy the site! best, bert
the folks here at BC are a wealth of information
Now, would Her Majesty think this really is the case, and that above sentence is Her English? Couldn't resist. best, bert

How has your day been as a bassist?
I amazed myself, only made 2 mistakes in the whole song
Kudos 'n' all that, but why always with the negative angle? Why not forget about two unimportant mistakes and rather tell us exactly how many good notes you played? So: HOW MANY? best, bert -
How much do you wanna spend? MarkBass do the 102HF and 102P in 4 Ohm versions, and also Eden have one I believe. None cheap though. best, bert

. . Go to bed! Hey Adam, Welcome! Nice introduction too, and I'm sure you'll have a lot to discuss here. Enjoy the site and its banter. OK, I'm gonna sleep now. best, bert PS:
Bongo
Tell your dad he's cool.

Unique! Crazy! Wild! Never experienced anything like it. Most certainly insane. Most certainly extremely irresponsible. But: got hold of some dough, and bought or ordered - an Orange Terror Bass 500 - a Squier CV 50s Precision, Lake Placid Blue - a Squier CV 50s Precision, Butterscotch Blonde - a Beta Aivin 250W head (like the Promethean w. lower wattage) - a red Ashbory - a BF Compact plus Midget I feel I'm very close to be settled for life. Very close indeed, even if I know what GAS can do to man. "This is a small step for man, but a giant leap for this man." best, bert -
Hej Roger, Välkommen till BC! Hoppas du gillar detta här sajtet. ... denna här sajten? Or something similar. Welcome, and enjoy the banter. We're already red-eared from the anticipation of learning from you, especially the noob that is me. c-ya, bert

Well, my Zoom G2 is built like a tank, and it's almost as old as I am. The B9.1ut has the same build quality, it seems. Some Zoom products may be less so, but the last decade, Zoom have always had some good stuff out, IME. best, bert

Hey Ian, Welcome indeed. You may teach us some. Funny you should mention exactly these bassists as influences. All four of them have been heavily influenced by me as well! I have four restraining orders as evidence! (Though I'm sorry I took one out on poor Martin. He's really a good bloke.) Me, I love drummers. They're great fun to be with 24/7, and the best non-musos a band can have working for them. IMHO of course. Enjoy the site! best, bert

Hey Ambassador, Not a cheesy name at all. It's a META-name. Brought a smile on my face right away. It has real panther in it as well, so you know it's good. Anyway, welcome into the folds! You're as ravingly mad as I am, and that is a good thing. It's like being in the middle between a bore and a Scot! I'm 56, and at that age, I can put all the money I get into the gear jar. Or rather: into paying back to the bank. So yes! Enjoy the site! best, bert

Oh man, this is cool! Hello from sunny Dudley! Finally another fellow countryman of mine here on BC. There' soooo few of us! Where in Norway are you from? Sorry, hoor!

Hi Bob, Welcome! To me it looks like you're right about everything you write, with the exception of your positive expectations about BC. But you'll get used to it. Saxophone = good. Upright = good. Are you gonna carry this around? Me, at 56 myself, I decided it's not for me. Then again, I'm old, and you're probably not. Anyway, enjoy the site. You'll slide in easily, and people will be standing in line to help you out. best, bert

Hey Tom, Welcome! So do you have a Sterling or a StingRay? You mentioned both in your post. Anyway, I hope you'll learn as much here as I have. It's a great place. best, bert
-
Hey Aende, Welcome! Do tell us more about the boy band. I smell humour! You're a tough one who admitted it. We like people of character here. Just keep silent and we'll be good friends. I recognize the amp situation. My one room now has a separate bedroom through the use of what I call The Wall of Sound. So you're not alone. Sorry, I noobly can't help with the cabs or the Superfly. Enjoy the site! best, bert

Hey Steve, Welcome! Do read the words by Leonardo da Fifency. They're wise words for once. You're so old that punk is the only thing you can play! Just roll out the ear protection and the wheelchair! Great story, BTW, but you'll be disappointed to know that the mods of BC have refused for years to put a Significant Others forum in the For Sale / For Trade section. With your help we might try again, but personally I have lost faith. Anyway... Enjoy! best, bert
But I thought it was the same situation as letting your toddler play with your car keys. You know, it keeps them happy but you don't very well expect them to actually get behind the wheel and go all Grand Theft Auto on you do you?
AmpKit for iPad/iPod - very cheap gear offer's last day
BassTractor replied to BassTractor's topic in General Discussion
Here's the site with US prices. Probably a bit dearer in Scotland and South Scotland. Turn it up to 12 best, bert
