It's going on the list of things I refuse to believe, along with God and potato bread outside of Northern Ireland.
Oh man, you're sooo wrong! I don't want to turn this into a religious thread, but I happen to live in the most conservative christian bible belt in Norway, and we have actual evidence of the existence of potato bread outside NI. Just before the weekend, I bought it from my local shop without any special ordering or praying or whatever. So, with an octave down sounding good, and me buying potato bread, I'm sure logic commands there's a god as well. best, bert
I hope that all of your comments will show up in my future songs
In that case, I have some comments too: "A seasoned witch could call you from the depths of your disgrace And rearrange your liver to the solid mental grace Achieve it all with music that came quickly from afar Then taste the fruit of man recorded losing all against the hour And assessing points to nowhere leading every single one A dewdrop can exalt us like the music of the sun And take away the plain in which we move And choose the course you're running" Be careful though. Some of the other comments make for mediocre lyrics at best, and some are a bit airy fairy treehuggery to be honest. best, bert

I really loved reading this. Then you said Ian's a top man. That was a shock to be honest, me always having thought he meant it when he said he's a bottom. Kudos, Col. best, bert

HOW GOOD ARE STINGRAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BassTractor replied to marcus bell's topic in General Discussion
That was in seriously bad taste, Wayne. Happily though, I have terrible taste, so I love this. My Bongo 6 is soooo going to be Tangerine Pearl. best, bert -
Very probably
Not probable at all, I think. I think it's more probable that the key word is "guitar". As in: "How sad must one be to choose exactly a guitar?" best, bert

Yup! It's OK, even though Discreet thinks the same. I'm just looking at the Fife contingent. Enjoy! best, bert

Hey Dawg, Welcome, and what Leen said. Can you muster used stuff? Should open up a world of possibilities, as prices are excrutiatingly low right now. That said, as everyone wants lighter gear, it's the heavier stuff that is cheapest. Browse the Amps & Cabs For Sale forum to see. Enjoy! best, bert
pretty likely with the way the Oranges are made, so really, its a 'design feature' and part of the 'Orange tone', because it isn't like those heads aren't expensive enough to be made in a way where that is less of a risk.
Poor bastard, imagine how bad things must be for him to take to robbing a guitar. I'm sure the shop is insured. I hope he gets away with it.
Bloody fan-tas-tic ! best, bert

Wayne, that not only is fancy. That is class. (Now, some previously rich and now degenerated social circles, living in houses they can't afford whilst keeping up appearances, might disagree, but then again they've always lacked class, no?) It's funny that your mate's standard shoes have an even stronger impact than your bespoke ones. No-one needs bespoke shoes! best, bert -

Noooo! This is no fun. This kinda stuff must just be enjoyed or disliked without any further info or explanation. It was just that I asked how you make one like that, with the white not coming up on top. Obviously everyone thinks of the coffee right away. Then the second sentence discloses that I "actually" wanted to learn how one makes a toast without the white coming on top. I aimed for a little smile, but got a thread. Happily though no-one died in the process. best, bert -
That is coffee
No! No! On the plate beside it! There! With the knife! If I try to make one, the white comes on top. b, b -

How do you do that? When I try to make it, I get the white on top and the brown on the bottom. Same with the coffee, btw. best, bert -
. Well, as another thread taught us, it's all about the PAYING PUNTERS! There's your name. best, bert

. I'm soooo gonna mic up the top of that! (Actually ordered one a year ago, but it never arrived. No money changed hands though. Right now I don't know if I can be arsed. It gets very expensive should one need the warranty. Vehemently on the fence over this one.) best, bert

why do so many bass players drive a Ford Focus?
BassTractor replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
I have a Mk1 Ford Galaxy, [...] I'll be in a breakers yard somewhere.
I feel your pain. Also, I'm surprised you have one that is still somewhat alive, and hope you're aware of the risk of using money on a Galaxy. Good luck! Bah. If only you could've spelled it Galaxie! Now that would be a band bus! Style! best, bert -
Excellent advice See, it isn`t hard to give good advice is it
Excellent post! Kudos for standing up for yourself whilst retaining good form and good analysis. FWIW, from the look of it I don't like what your teacher does. Its intensity would bring me out of balance, and I've taught composition at music college. This type of theoretical stuff is - mainly - best served as the confirmation of what your ears have already taught you, but from what you wrote, it seems to me your teacher serves too much too hot. I may misunderstand, and I may be wrong. At any rate: good luck! If there's one thing that's worth staying with, it's music. It touches people so deeply. Adjust the learning curve's steepness, but never ever give up! (Unless of course you can't nail that effing Leonard Skinner tune by Tuesday next week ) best, bert
