  1. Hard to find collaboration between master bassist Graham and Prince. Features Chaka Khan. Excellent condition, UK postage included. Blurb! GCS 2000 is the eighth studio album by Graham Central Station, and their first to be released by NPG Records. The album was co-produced by Prince (as ), who co-wrote one song (Utopia) and appeared on every track as a musician or vocalist (mostly uncredited). The album was released on 2 February 1999, the same day as 1999: The New Master (on which Larry Graham also appears), and was third and final album in the 'trilogy' worked on with Prince (as ) and Chaka Khan from late 1997 to mid-1998 (New Power Generation’s Newpower Soul and Chaka Khan’s Come 2 My House were the other two albums in the trilogy). The booklet contains a long note written by Prince, titled "’s dare" in which he describes with superlatives Larry Graham’s style, how "he is funk ITSELF" and dares anyone who listens to the album to "try not 2 make the 'funky face'."
  2. Rock books plus postage at cost: Byrds book (RRP£30) out of print £10 Kevin Armstrong (RRP £16.95) is an excellent musician’s autobiography. £5
  3. Used one for five or six years without any problem.
  4. Remind me how long Kelly Groucutt lasted? 😂
  5. But we screwed it up by letting the vocalists imitate the brass section at the end with kazoos! Needless to say, it didn’t make our live album… despite my excellent bassline.😂
  6. Totally this! The fave one I ever played was How Does It Feel…
  7. @neepheid I spy the MarkBass cab you got recently - how is it performing? Oh, and get well soon. I shut my finger (left index) in a car door before a gig once and the feeling has never totally returned…
  8. What are you on about? The Stones are their own tribute!😂
  9. Good luck and safe travels! It was pretty stormy in Bournemouth at 7 this am (off to Craven Cottage to see Fulham - United).
  10. Any chance of a bit of Mr Blue Sky? 🤞
  11. @casapete gigs one of these. That is a recommendation!
  12. Just don’t try Mr Big😳
  13. I think for singers, a lot has to do with retaining match fitness. If you’ve never stopped performing you’re more likely to have retained your vocal abilities.
  14. Unless you play originals, we are all in the nostalgia business!
  15. Do tell your band name and style of music - rig too, if you like!
  16. Excellent bass from a trusted seller - good luck with the sale!
  17. The drummer of my first band said it all the time…
  18. Sometimes the out-takes say it better than the in-focus photos! A typical Saturday night at a Dorset glamping site for Otis Jay Blues Band. Worried the rugby would restrict attendance, but thankfully no such problems. Threw in three pub standards we hadn’t even played together in practice to keep the atmosphere going. Used ‘Sonic’, my MIJ Jazz, whose pickups don’t drive the Elf/Barefaced One10 combo as hard as the Flea. Will revert next time or bring the second speaker.
  19. FMOB?! Takes me back to the 70s, if not the 60s Mike😂
  20. Maybe that’s part of it, but both were fantastic in their own way.
  21. These are lovely guitars snd this is a classic colour scheme. GLWTS!
  22. Eh? I thought he said Slade!😈
