1. I am looking to ‘downsize’ and not sure what to move on so I am putting them all up for sale. Lovely USA ’75 reissue Jazz in natural: maple neck with black blocks and binding. Good condition but not perfect: some small surface dinks and blemishes but nothing major - and it has been drilled for both ashtrays. Z5 serial number (which makes it 2005, I think) and it comes with Fender hard case, both ashtrays, some case candy and straplocks. Plays really nicely and has the 70s pick up spacing. All original – as far as I know – I bought it second hand and haven’t changed anything. Photos available here: http://s288.photobuc...bassVI/library/ Apologies for picture quality – let me know if you have any questions or want photos of anything else. I am based in Sunderland and am happy to post at your expense. I would prefer a sale but would possibly be interested in a trade depending what happens with the other basses I am selling – I just want to end up with fewer basses. Probably the best thing would be to just let me know what trade you are offering and we can discuss. One trade I would definitely be interested in straight away would be a good quality digital piano. 2. Just sold a bass trainer to Simon: smooth and easy transaction - and he was very fair over postage costs. Highly recommended. Neil
3. Glad to see there is some interest in this. Haven't had a PM from Paul j h so I will try to get in touch with him to see if he is still interested - before 'moving along the queue'!
4. Just sorting through gear and this is not getting much use. Very good condition (pretty much immaculate), in original box and with original power supply. Not sure what else to add - really good bit of kit but sadly underused in my house. Happy to post - let me know if you have any questions Cheers, Neil
5. Thanks to everyone for the trade offers so far - lots of interesting offers to think about - much appreciated. I think (hope!) I have replied to everyone who has been good enough to get in touch and let them know my response - but apologies if I have missed anyone out. There are a couple of offers where I am seeing if we can agree a deal but nothing is finalised yet - so still open to offers or trades. Very open minded - just looking for something that sounds appealing - so feel free to get in touch if you are interested. Cheers, Neil
6. Hi Tayste, Will get back to you by PM. Cheers Neil
7. I have had some interesting trade offers so far - so thanks for those. I have been in touch with those expressing an interest to say I am going to leave this up for a few days before making a decision. Happy to consider a straight sale or a trade. N
8. Squier Bass VI in excellent condition: white with tort guard. It has had the stock strings changed to the (much better) La Bella set – I still have the original strings, if you want them. It comes with a gig bag (slightly oversized) and the whammy bar. Can’t find any dings – only thing I can see is a few light wear marks on the pickguard. I have had a great time playing it – interesting to try a shorter scale and 6 strings. It is actually a load of fun to play - great for banging out your favourite Cure songs (and not forgetting Witchita Lineman) – and surprisingly ‘bassy’ but I thought I would see if feel like a change. I got this in a trade and while I would be happy for a straight sale, I think I would actually prefer another trade. Very open-minded on what I am looking for: don’t have anything particular in mind and happy to listen to anything you might want to trade. I can add some cash as well if you have something of higher value – just let me know. This is located in Sunderland – get in touch if you have any questions or need any more info. Pictures: http://s288.photobuc...vjjsyn.jpg.html Cheers, Neil
9. Slightly unconventional this - but hope this is OK and doesn’t break any rules! Peted of this very Forum kindly offered his old Tascam Bass Trainer (CD-BT Mk11 – the CD version) free of charge back in April. Bit battered but in working order. I think there is a picture of the trainer in his original ad – 5[sup]th[/sup] April this year. This is the text of his original ad: Free to a good home is my old trusty bass trainer. I tend to use mp3s now rather than CDs so it's not been used in a few years. The CD tray is held on with only gaffa tape but otherwise functions perfectly. Can be powered by AA batteries or regular 9V DC adapter (not supplied). All I ask is for any postage to be reimbursed. Thank you. He very kindly passed it on to me for postage costs only – and I have used it a lot subsequently. Great bit of kit. I was so impressed with it I have gone out and bought the MP3 version – and so I thought I would now pass this on. It is exactly as in Pete’s original ad – bit shabby but functional - except that I have bought the Tascam power supply that goes with it. Think this cost me about £17 plus postage. Don’t need the power supply for anything else so I am putting the two together. So, I am basically offering a Tascam PS-PS5 9v AC adaptor for £10 plus postage – with a free (but tatty) Tascam CD-BT1Mk11 trainer thrown in. I also printed off the manual – so whoever wants this can have that as well! I did get in touch with Pete to make sure he was happy with this arrangement (and he was) so I hope other people think it is fair.

13. I get these on a fairly regular basis. Funnily enough, when I read the thread title, my first thought was 'Badge' - which was the first one mentioned when I opened up the thread and started reading! They tend to be very random for me: currently Radiohead's 'The National Anthem' and John Lennon's 'Instant Karma': weird mix
14. I saw Weather Report at Newcastle City Hall many, many years ago (think I may have posted about this before). Ironically enough, what struck me at the time was the fantastic live keyboard sounds that Joe Zawinul used - sounded really 'organic' (for want of a better word) rather than electronic. Wayne Shorter and the drummer (I think it was Chester Thompson - but it was a long time ago) were great but I found Jaco the least impressive of the lot: can't argue that he is an amazing player but his solo bit was just tiresome and 'flashy for the sake of being flashy'.
15. I caught them and thought they sounded great. Time has not been kind to them (I know the feeling!) but I thought they were better than when I saw them milions of years ago - think it was Newcastle City Hall, some time in the 80's...... Didn't recognise the Schecter - thought it looked OK!
16. SOLD Shobaleader was right - stuck it on Gumtree and someone offered me the cash - didn't even try to get a few quid knocked off! Thanks to everyone who showed an interest - especially Bagsieblue - decent bloke!
17. Thanks Nibody - it is a decent bass for not much money. I am hoping to find someone who has something interesting to trade (and I do have some cash to add that is currently burning a hole in my pocket) but we will see what happens. Might try it on Gumtree as well.......
18. Hello! For trade is an Epiphone Thunderbird which I have had for a while now. Nice to play (narrow neck but fairly deep – front to back) and surprisingly light. However, this doesn’t get played very much so I would like to see if anyone is interested in a trade as I fancy a new toy or two to play with. First, the details of the bass: This is not in immaculate condition but plays fine with a reasonable action and decent sound. I bought it a while ago in a very unloved state as a bit of a project. I tidied and cleaned it up and replaced control knobs: Howard the Bass Doc changed the dodgy pots and made a replacement for the missing back cover for me. It has plenty of minor dinks (most of which have not broken the finish) but there is one more substantial dunch close to the bottom strap pin. I have tried to take photos of all of this – with varying degrees of success........see this Photobucket link: http://s1079.photobu.../1SonoftheWear/ It is Korean, has an extra strap pin on the heel and the original three point bridge: this has a slightly mixed group of saddles. The saddles all belong to an Epi Thunderbird but one was missing - so has been replaced. Howard pointed out that the saddles are individually numbered according to the string and he managed to find a replacement saddle in his box of parts. However, he didn’t have the right number so this has saddles numbered 2, 3, 4 and 4! I would value this at £100 but I would prefer a trade. I am very open to anything people have to offer and I am happy to add cash to this as well. Things I would be particularly keen on are: A 5 string – fancy trying one out A cheapy guitar (electric or acoustic) Any various interesting treasures you might have – decent headphones, Tascam trainer, pedals, etc..... or combination thereof Not really looking for amplification – but if you are interested in the Thunderbird just let me know what you might have to trade and we can discuss. You can check out my feedback as well...... In terms of location I live in Sunderland. I don't have a case for this but would be happy to post this (with the neck off) if it helps. Cheers, Neil
19. I have an Epi Thunderbird (which, incidentally I am about to put it up for trade) which had a missing saddle - just the same as you. From a financial point of view it didn't seem sensible to replace the whole bridge or replace it with the much superior one (is it a Hipshot one?) so I had to search for a more appropriate (cheaper!) fix. I got in contact with Howard the Bass Doc who very helpfully managed to find one in his stock of spares - as well as sorting the iffy pots and producing a missing back cover - all for a very reasonable price. It might be worth dropping him a line to see if he can rake anything up from his drawers (hmmmm - knowing Howard I may want to go back and rephrase that......). Rosetti do list the saddles on their site (about five quid each) but only seem to have chrome or gold - can't see a black one. Just to complicate matters, Howard pointed out to me that the saddles are numbered according to the string (I hadn't realised this) - his replacement wasn't a perfect match for the missing one but did the job fine. The Rosetti site don't seem to differentiate between saddles - other than by the gold or chrome finish. If you do make any progress in tracking a supplier down (if Howard can't help) it would be good to know. I am about to put mine up for trade but it would be interesting to find a place for Epi spares - they can be pretty reasonably priced so not suitable for spending megabucks on replacement parts. Good luck with the hunt.....
20. Small mixer arrived from Chris just as planned. Helpful bloke who kept in touch and did what he said he would - highly recommended. Neil
21. Fantastic bass - surely if Fender produced one like this it would be a good seller? Howard has done a terrific job - if I had some spare cash I would seriously look at getting something like this!
