1. +1 on the OLP. Would you deliver it too?
2.
You might want to edit the title to Musicmaster!
What did it say before?
3. How do? I've recently bought a pair of Converse, size 9, same as these ones here. I've bought them for a wedding I'm going to in 2 weeks, so I need them for that, but after that I can't see me wearing them after that. I dunno if this is the right section to put them in, but they're not for free, but for trade. I'm looking for a pair of 'Classic' Converse, black canvas/white rubber or similar, same size. Anyone interested? PM me! Jono
4. Phwoar! That pink Squier's lovely! I want!
5. That Rockbass is great, never been tempted by one until now, but they need to sort out that jack socket and put an input on the edge instead of that fugly Strat one. Very nice precision too, but why did you get rid of the tort scratchplate?!?!?!? Sacrilege!
6. I haven't tried the Hartke stuff but I really liked all the Ashdown stuff I've used (and use). The sound does lean towards the vintage side of things, it's not gonna be suitable for a black metal band or anything, but if you take some time to mess with the EQ you can get some nice warm sounds out of it. I thought the MAG 300 head worked very nicely with distortion. l I definitely agree with the fault being down to the user, or their settings. My amp can sound woolly when it's flat but that's what the EQ is there for, as it's already been pointed out.
7. You may be better to split too. A lot of people don't which puts me off for sure, some folk are just looking for an amp and others are just looking for a cab. It might be an idea to post it too. It's a bit of hassle for you trying to box it and such, but you could always get the potential buyer to organise pickup and delivery. I don't think many would be pissed if you stuck an extra fiver or tenner on top for your hassle. Just throwing it out there, but it may open up your potential market. There were a couple of people who wouldn't post their cabs when I was looking to buy, which was a real kick in the sh*tt*r. Anyway, by not splitting/posting what you're looking for is someone in your area who's looking for this exact rig.
8. Kramer. The seller reckons it might be a one off. Looks pretty sharp regardless.
9. White. Or Black. Or Sunburst. I'm not much help, but any of those 3 would look sweet with a maple neck and tortoise-shell pickguard.
10. I agree with Wil's comment in the original topic, if they re-issued the DC bass I'd be in there like a shot. They do sound amazing though. I used to have a Dano U2 guitar (my first guitar actually, not bass), and it was lovely. I wish I still had it That was my 'one that got away'.
11. D'oh! Should've read your sig!
12. Funny you should say that, because I have a string of sausages and a book of cartoon cliches
13. That's a shame. It's looks slightly wrong, but it's still a lovely bass, and a killer collection! That's 2 15s you've got there too, bet that's nice and bassy!
14. Is it just a trick of the light or is the fingerboard on the maple neck P a different colour to the headstock? Anyway, that colour combo with the maple neck was my ideal Precision, but seeing the one with the rosewood has thrown me! I may have to get one of each. Although if that maple neck had block inlays
15.
if we have another earthquake....
Exactly! That's why I keep my basses balanced precariously against/on top of my amp
16. That is lovely! And you're in Paisley too, I'm not that far away! Where in Paisley do you live? And what's your home security system like? Would it be possible for an amateur thief to get in and out easily?
17. There's a few folk on here with nice tall (and probably immovable) 1X15s. I want one, not one of those compact jobs that lots of companies are churning out (Ashdown, I'm looking at you). I wonder if Bassbunny still has his? And if he'll post it for free?
18.
My educated guess: 1. £230-£250 2. £130-£170 £. £150-£180 Unfortunately none of these instruments are particularly desirable - someone had a P-bass Lyte on eBay recently at £300, and it ended with no bids. I played one in a shop a couple of years back and they dropped the price to £250 used. Didn't buy it as it wasn't very nice. In any case, good luck and hope you get the requisite funds for the Bongo!
Maybe that's because the P Bass Lyte is hideous? IMO, of course! If the Epi was at the less expensive end of that price bracket I might be interested though, it may quell my want for an EB-3
19. I paid £270 for mine at the start of the year if that's any help?
20. I've got an ABM 300 head, and I've had it for 4 months or so and it's worked fine. Jay_249 on here had it before me, and he didn't have any problems with it either. Great sound too, perfect in my opinion but I know it's not to everyones taste.
21. Hello! I've got an SD Quarter Pounder for the neck position that I'm thinking about replacing. It's about a year or so old if I remember correctly, but it's a bit aggressive for me though. A link to the Seymour Duncan page here. It's in very good nick, I'm looking for about £30 posted o.n.o unless I'm being unrealistic, I know how people on here love to let you know when you're asking for too much for something, but really I'd like to do a trade for something like an SJB-1 or 2, or something similar. Any questions feel free to drop me a line.
22. Yep, loads of bargains in the second hand section, even try evilbay. You could easily pickup a second hand Mexican Fender for a couple of hundred quid and use the difference to replace some of the weaker elements, such as bridge and pickups. There was even a Highway 1 that went for £300. Squier VMs are very good too, as are some of the OLPs. I personally like Andy67s Squier VM TB, which for £175 gets you the bass with a DiMarzio pickup, Schaller tuners, Fender deluxe thru string bridge and a gig bag, AND it's delivered! If I wasn't so skint I'd have had it already. As you can see, it's in my wish list
23.
Yes, sadly. A job I was taking up has fallen through, and for some reason, Mrs BORN "B MILD isn't keen on selling the house so I can keep it.
Tut tut, so many people on here sell lovely basses/bikes due to spousal pressure. As the man of the house, you should out your foot down and tell her you're keeping the bike and you're off to live in a council house whether she likes it or not! Don't forget to add that if she behaves, you might let her stay in the bedroom and put the bike in the garage
