Are there any topics out there recommending good monitors if you're a first time buyer? Looking to further my home studio set-up but i'm not really sure of what i should be looking for/looking to spend you see.

One of the basic rules of recording/mixing - you can give a recording something that isn't there in the first place...

Someone once played me a track of his that heavily relied on him playing harmonics on the bass - I've no idea what its called - anybody know which track i'm on about?
Great basses type bump! Out of interest, where did you get the pickguard from? I'm not too fussed on the checkerplate one on my SUB 5...... Cheers
I've got a red tortoise-shell pick guard on my SUB4 and it looks killer, way better than the paper thin one that comes as standard!

Hi, So a number of years back i decided to sand down one of my basses - by hand. Aside from taking an age to accomplish, I managed to do a pretty rough job of the whole thing due to using a really coarse paper and not having much of a clue about the whole thing. Now i'm looking to find someone who can even out the whole thing and perhaps put a clear coat on the thing to make it look a lot more professional. Can anybody recommend any luthiers or similar (Manchester based if possible, although I don't mind sending off the body) to carry out this work for me? I haven't the time, space or equipment myself and would love to finally see it finished. Cheers!

**SOLD** FS Orange SP212 600W isobaric cab **£300**

I've been looking at Orange cabs to pair with my TB500, and i've seen that a lot of people suggest/use the OBC115 cab. Having looked at it though, it only handles 400w at 8ohms - is this pairing not potentially able to damage the cab, given that the amp puts out 500w? Or is this only a problem if i'm seriously driving the power section of the amplifier? Cheers!

For Sale/Trade is my GK MB150E-III. I've had this a few years now and its been a fantastic portable amp for home use and rehearsal. Gigged once for an acoustic set only. Excellent sounding amp with real versatility, built in drive and chorus effects are excellent too. The only reason i'm looking to sell is to fund a more powerful rig. The amp is in full working order and near immaculate condition - no major scrapes or dings at all. For those who don't know these amps, you can find all the information and features about them here: http://www.gallien-k..._mb_series.html. They're especially well regarded for Upright players, and retail around £750. I'm looking for £350 plus P&P, or collection from Manchester is welcome. I'm open to trades for lightweight 2x10 or 2x12 cabs, or any Orange cabs, but if you've got anything else you'd like to trade then PM me. I've got a Mono case and its brilliant - my Hiscox hard case is now just for keeping a spare in as the Mono is so much lighter and comfortable to travel with. Just wish I'd picked up the double case now as I wouldn't need the hard case at all!
