  1. Stunning! This bass makes me want to take up playing 5 strings! Best of luck with the sale.
  2. That's correct. My own bass is early to mid 1974, and it has a 4 bolt neck, and they bought out the 3 bolt neck, bullet truss rod jobbie from mid to late 1974. It's also very common for Fender to use old parts off the shelf. This particular bass for sale has a 1973 neck plate, long G screw (like mine has). So assuming the parts are original I would say this bass was put together in late 1974 IMO. GLWTS
  3. Yes I know! This bass used to have chrome hardware on it. I wouldn't at all be surprised if this wasn't the same bass.
  4. I was considering one of these some time ago. It was the exact same colour as this one and belonged to Mervyn "Spam" Spence who used to play in Trapeze/Wishbone Ash for a time. He bought it off a fella desperate for the cash and sold it back to him later for way more. He had already sold it by the time I messaged him so i missed out. It's the only one i've seen until now in this colour. His was original, the same colour as this one but it had chrome tuners and chrome bridge.
  5. Thank you for buying my bass Phil. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
  6. This bass is now SOLD. Thank you Basschat and many thanks to Phil for buying it. I hope you enjoy the bass as much as I have. Tony.
  7. See, I told you it might still be here! It seems a lot of folk are skint, broke after Xmas, wanna trade or P/X, or worried about Brexit or something. I'm really surprised it is still here though TBH.
  8. It's still here at the moment and you are welcome to come and try it if you like.
  9. I could do with shifting this bass on now so here's £100 off from £1500 to £1400 plus i'll throw in free UK delivery (elsewhere at cost). I've also added a video of me playing this bass to the listing. It's not perfect but it gives you some idea (excuse the shorts ha ha).
  10. I'm shocked that this bass has not yet been sold kinda bump! Actually i've had a couple of P/X offers (not on Basschat) but I don't really need another bass.
  11. Yes indeed they did long scale. EB3L shipping figures peaked in 1973. Thank you, it really is a lovely bass, someone is going to be delighted with it. It's a pity i'm not using it more.
  12. As the title says, my friends band is looking for a keyboard player for his newly formed Europe tribute band, Europe UK. All the musicians were in place but the keyboard player decided to bail recently. The band are in (or have been in) well known tribute bands in the UK. If you are interested and have the skills etc....PM me and I will pass on the details for you. Cheers Tony.
