1. 2 leads about 2 years old, both Planet Waves, no problems with them.
2. This has happened to us, well not exactly, but our guitarists effects packed up and started to just buzz very loudly and I just carried on regardless. This has happened twice at gigs but he seems to have sorted it out now. So I would say carry on! Also I have only played two gigs on a 6 string. On my very first gig I snapped B string just before the last track and the intro REALLY needed that string. The bass player and I didn't know what to do as I hadn't got a spare, so we both went up to the mic and hummed the opening bit! then just carried on. It was a good laugh anyway and the audience seemed to find it comical.......we still got an encore!
3. Hey it's great to see Pete on here! I havn't watched Nearly Dan for a long time, (at a theater in Arnold Nottingham if I remember correctly), if anyone here like Steely Dan, it does not get any better. Last time I watched you Pete i'm sure you were using a Tobias? do you still have it? I love Rob's guitar playing incidentally. I must get to see you guys again. Good luck with the gig!
4.
Wow, so you've been in pretty much the only two tribute bands i'd ever consider being in (well, except for a Prince cover band. That'd be the best!)! Welcome! Truckstop
Well the Wishbone tribute was good fun while it lasted. It got me out playing again, I hadn't been in a band for almost 25 years until that point,(2005). My current band is great to be in i'm very lucky. It's a pity our drummer John has left the band but the replacement is a great player. Thanks for the welcome!
5.
Welcome to the site. As you'll find out it's a great forum to be on. You only have one bass ? .................let's see how long that lasts for
Thanks for the welcome! I have a Rickenbacker.....what else do you need
6. As a "newbie" here I might as well plug our band unashamedly. Our band In For The Kill (Budgie tribute) will play our next gig featuring a debut for our new drummer James "Bill" Baxter on Thursday 25th August at: The Chestnut Tree Mansfield Road Sherwood, Nottingham NG5 2EL We should be on around 9.15 and it's free admission for this gig. All welcome of course! Check out our website for further info and gigs.
7. My fave bass player is Chris Squire and has been for as long as I can remember, but cool player? how about Nathan Watts......
8. Hi Everyone. Just to introduce myself to you all. My name is Tony Clark and I live in Nottingham. I am the bass player with In For The Kill the BUDGIE tribute band which I formed at the beginning of 2008. I only started playing bass in 2005 when I helped to create a Wishbone Ash tribute band, and prior to that I played mostly rhythm guitar just for fun. I play a 1975 Rickenbacker 4001 (that has a nice history concerning Martin Turner of Wishbone ash fame), which I bought from the USA in 2005 and it's my only bass. My current back-line is a Trace Elliot Series 6, 1 X 15 200w combo and matching 2 X 10 cab which will be sold shortly as i'm on the lookout for a more compact and lighter amp and cab due to the purchase of my new car (less space)! I also own a 1977 Takamine F390S acoustic and a 1992 Hamer Artist USA guitar. I'm also a member of 3 other forums, Bandolier (Budgie fan club), Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash (good friends of mine) and Progarchives. I only recently found out about this site and it's well cool. It's great to be here and part of Basschat UK. Tony C http://www.inforthekill.webeden.co.uk/
