Hi all. Due to a new amp/cab purchase I am now selling my Trace Elliot Series 6, GP12, 1215 200watt combo. This is the 12 band EQ version I bought this from a local seller approx 4/5 years ago. It has served me very well since. I had the combo serviced last year by a guy I trust implicitly who builds very, very expensive amps. The combo is in perfect working order and it is cosmetically in very good condition. It does have a cap missing off one of the controls (no doubt easily replaceable but it's never bothered me). The combo has a 15"speaker. I was told it was built in 1992. It does not have the green carpet finish, it has the vinyl covering. I am also throwing in a Trace Elliot 2X10 cab rated at 200watts. The cab is in used condition. It will need a replacement speaker though as it is buzzing. This cab matches the combo. You are really buying the combo, the cab is an added bonus that needs sorting. I am selling it on here cheaply for you guys first, if it does not sell I will stick it on Evilbay. I am looking for around £250 for BOTH and I am NOT splitting! so please don't ask. Someone is going to get a bargain here. Collection only, or arrange to have it collected from me as I am NOT posting it due to the weight. Cash on collection or bank transfer in advance is ok, Paypal is too expensive unless you want to cover their costs. PM me if you are interested, You can make me a serious offer, you never know I might accept, but no silly offers please! I am based in Nottingham just 5 minutes from junction 26 M1. PS: I am now selling 2X15 Wharfedale Titan passive speakers in grey if you are interested?. (all part of my downsizing exercise due to a new car....and back!). PPS: Sorry about the crappy pix! Cheers Tony.
Cheers for the input!!! Although a lot of it is simple stuff really, non of it really came to mind. Haha. No material as such I've been given, although I'm going to learn some songs from the bands influences to get the general gist of the tune style. Don't want to turn up and play some heavy J-rock.
So do we take it from that , it's an "original material" band then?
Assuming that you have learnt what they want you to audition with, then be punctual, set up, tune up and play. Don't overplay, concentrate on getting the groove/timing right. At an audition they will be much more impressed if your timing is good, than whether you can solo/slap etc. Don't noodle between numbers and try to look happy And best of luck
What he say's is spot on Good luck

I always put something like 'for more info, use the ask seller a question tab or drop me a line at ' I've done it a few times actually. Why make eBay rich(er)?
Too right! thanks i'll do that I have some bits i'll be putting up for sale shortly.....on BC first mind!
Tony - fancy a new bass?
No thanks mate, i'm downsizing not adding! In fact i've just sold my 6 string. Good luck!

I didn't know about adding your email address to the auction because I didn't think it was allowed by Ebay?
-
Hello Dan! Blimey I havn't seen you in ages! (nice to see you Sunday mate ). Summer is the worst time on Ebay as most folk are away on hols it's the same every year, also Xmas time and New Year is generally dead. Best time is probably late Autumn. Ebay fees are bloody shocking I hate using Ebay to sell, not so bad buying stuff though. Try your luck here on BC again would be my advice. If you are gonna sell on Ebay you may have to up the price a bit just to cover the fees, or say at the end of your ad, "collection only - cash on collection preferred, I would rather not use Paypal" or words to that effect. Leave Paypal as an option but make it clear you'd rather not use it. You may get an email asking you to sell off Ebay anyway. Another option is to sell in a shop, but they will charge a sell on fee. Yet another option is to trade. All the best with your sale, see you soon mate.....Tony

Which is more important, the amp or the cab ?
clarkpegasus4001 replied to essexbasscat's topic in General Discussion
Both are equally important. I spent almost an equal amount on amp and cab, slightly more on the amp actually for my little rig. -
I'm now 50 (been playing bass for 6 years so very late starter) and i've switched to a lighter back-line just this week, (no doubt my Trace will be on Ebay or here shortly! Get playing gigs! you can't beat playing to an audience, good, bad or indifferent, wished i'd done it years ago.

I just wanted to report what a cracking gig on Sunday for our band In For The Kill. A strange start time of 6pm? finished for 8pm. It does have it's merits though! getting home, gear away, bathed and downstairs with a drink at 10pm that's almost unheard of! The set list was the same as we did last Thursday just slightly switched around because we've had no rehearsal in-between. I got there early, it's a small pub, small stage, and there were just 4 people in when I arrived. I was very dubious that anyone would turn up as we were playing that early and given it is a Bank Holiday. I got set up and the geezer behind the bar said "the place usually gets filled up with folk by about 5.30" I thought yeah right! By 5pm, there were still around 4 people in, but he was right! by the time we went on at 6pm, there were loads in and it was pretty full as we started playing into the first set. Our new drummer Bill played well again, and our guitarist Sacko played his arse off. We went down brill, got an encore, they wanted more but we hadn't done any more songs! and we were told to be done by 8pm anyway. Bonus? yep, we got £50 more money than they said they were gonna pay us and we got re-booked for January 22nd...result! a good time was had by all. I have to say they were a friendly bunch in the place as well, it was a real pleasure to play to such an appreciative audience....spot on! We could use more gigs like that!

I also use a Wharfedale 12 Powered monitor. I use a powered mixer live with 2 passive speakers for main, then use the powered monitor for monitoring the vocals so it does not use power from the mixer.

Fleas new amps and unfortunate adverts in BGM!
clarkpegasus4001 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
I used to use a mint condition 1X15 USA Acoustic amp from about 1980 when I played in a Wishbone Ash tribute band. It sounded really good, loud/powerful great tone. I only sold it because it was too bulky. I have no idea if the new Acoustic stuff is any good, I guess it's not American made looking at the prices online. -
hi all am new to this site but hoping can get some decent feddback. Am using a 5 string Yamaha Bass with active pickups and have just bought an Ashdown Electric Blue 180 combo amp. Am experiencing a maddening low hum even with the distortion turned right down. Any one out there had this problem? am trying to upgrade my amplification from a Trace Elliot BLX80 cheers badassbri59
Hi and welcome to the forum. Are you playing this amp at home? if so it could be hum coming from your electric mains? I have this problem which seems worse with old mains effects. I have had my 2 effects taken in to have a mod to cure this. I think you can buy an extension which can cure this hum problem.....maybe someone on here knows? Most amps get a low hum and if it's valve it can be quite loud though this is not a problem when playing at high gigging volume. The best person to ask maybe is "Pete Academy" on here as he works in a shop. Good luck....

Not long got back from a gig in a pub in Sherwood Nottingham. Nice big venue but not that many in, well it was a Thursday! This was the first gig with our new drummer and although a bit nervous he settled in very well. A couple of tracks seemed a bit too quick, but overall not bad at all and we went down well enough. one or two boo boo's but that's expected from very few rehearsals I guess. One thing though, last night only confirms that my bass amp will have to go, sounds brill but too damn heavy! Now looking forward to playing this Sunday. I hope I can get a new bass cab by then has my new Tecamp Puma arrived today!

I NEVER make a mistake! Oh, alright then! I hit a barre chord in the relevant key until my memory comes back!
