1. Being electrocuted is the least of your worries, it's the thrown coins that I worry about. Boy do they hurt when they hit you. I've still got a dent in the neck of my bass from a 2p coin that just missed my hand.
2. I found the same. The DC didn't have the characteristic Danelectro sound that the Longhorn does. The Longhorn does that 'Radar Love' sound to perfection but not the DC. Seemed to have more mid to me. Might be the scale length.
3. Sorry to miss-lead you there. I got 4 Danelectro pickups sitting here and they've all got bent copper strips as springs and are all attached with self tapping screws. They must use different mountings depending on the model although my DC bass, recently sold, and Longhorn both use this method.
4. It's a Gibson SG eds-1275 double-neck. Much info here, http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/gear/guitar/gibsoneds1275.html. Everything (almost) about The Who, www.thewho.net
5. Very nice, and they make a left handed version. I didn't want to know that!
6. Anything here any good for you? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/254759-vintage-synth-sound-modules-and-keyboard/
7. I use Photoshop and Indesign. Expensive, though and I'm sure that there are cheaper alternatives.
8. I'm here! In sunny Hastings by the sea. TN37.
9. Since I bought my 69er I've been a very happy bass player so a load of things that I've kept because 'you never know' I've decided to pass on to new homes. First up are 6, Ashdown 10" speakers, hardly used and in excellent condition. I'm after £28 each posted. Ashdown will sell them to you for £45.58p each, so I think the price is reasonable. 8 ohm and 150w each. I also have 6, Carvin ps10 10" 8 ohm 200w speakers to sell. The T/S specs are here, http://www.carvinwor...anuals/tsp.html They're all working great. I'm after £30 each posted.
10. Working great and sounding just like drums, what more could you ask for. £110 posted. Includes power supply and manual.
11. The remaining one is now £100 posted.
12. Rather a long time since this was bumped type bump.
13. Having a clearout of my studio and as I don't use these anymore they should go to a new home. I have a Korg M3R synth / sampler, the manual can be found here, http://soundprogramm..._M3R_Manual.pdf I don't actually know much about this as. I just plugged it in and used various patches on our latest album and didn't use it anymore. It would probably help if I could play keyboards. I did plug my Sonus mid converter thingy into it and it made some nice sounds from my guitar. There don't appear to be any sounds in the machine but plenty on the expansion card but I'm sure that someone with more knowledge that me could work it all out. As it hasn't been used for quite a while the internal battery may need changing as well although it's not totally flat yet. I'm after £65 posted. I also have a Roland SC-7 sound module and matching Roland PC200 MKll midi keyboard. I tried this straight into my Mac and it worked a treat. Selling for the same reasons as the Korg M3R. Some great sounds on it. I used the flutes on our latest album and they're brilliant, my keyboard playing however, is not. I'm after £50 for the sound module and £40 for the keyboard, both posted.
14. The spring is actually screwed to the bottom of the pickup so wont fall off / out.
15. It's a self tapping screw and not a threaded screw. Something like this, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NO-10-4-8mm-POZI-FLANGE-SELF-TAPPING-SCREWS-A2-STAINLESS-STEEL-POZI-DRIVE-/111039830174, but I can't off hand remember the size. I'd take the other one out and head off down to B & Q and try to match it up. The spring on the pickup is a Bent bit of metal so nothing will go flying off.
16. I tried it once and all the umph went so never touched it again.
17. I bought this a few months ago as a spare for my Streamliner 900 and it has never been used so it might as well go to a good home where it can be enjoyed by someone else. I don't need to say how great it sounds because its reputation precedes it! Superb, as new condition and with Gator soft case. I'm after £450 posted. Sorry about the photos but you get the idea.
18. I have enough trouble with short scale at concert but then I am a bit heavy handed.
19. Put some self tapping screws in the lid to secure it better?
20. Once upon a time, many years ago, we bought a pair of used, Gauss loaded, 18" reflex bins. As we used them over time we noticed that one sounded better than the other. Having a quick look we noticed that one of the speaker cones was wet. Very strange we thought, that's why it sounds weird. Took the speaker out and dried it in the sun and it sounded OK. Next gig it sounded strange again, checked and the speaker was wet again. We bought a hair dryer and stood it in the reflex port to dry out the speaker on every gig and by the end of the gig the speaker was wet again. We asked the good folks who had sold us the speakers if they could throw any like on this wet speaker problem and they said that it must be where their cat had taken a piss inside the cab all over the speaker. Talking to someone about this they said that the salts in the cat's pee attracts moisture and so we would never solve the problem and we never did. I don't know if this explanation is true but it made a lot of sense at the time, I hope that dog's pee dosn't have the same properties or it's new speaker time. Then there's the time that my pet labrador ate the speaker in our guitarist's AC30, but I'll save that for another time.
21. Up to date again. Any more?
